Overview

The CML Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 1000000 CST is a professional-grade differential oil designed for RC enthusiasts who demand precision tuning and optimal performance from their RC cars. Whether you're a seasoned racer competing at UK RC events, a weekend basher exploring the countryside, or a dedicated hobbyist fine-tuning your RC vehicle setup, this silicone-based diff oil offers the viscosity and consistency needed to keep your differential running smoothly. Manufactured by Fastrax, a respected name in RC accessories, this 50ml bottle of high-viscosity diff oil is an essential component for any RC car owner in the UK looking to maintain their vehicle and achieve competitive performance on track or off-road.

Differential oil is a critical but often overlooked maintenance item in RC car ownership. The differential is responsible for distributing power between the wheels whilst allowing them to rotate at different speeds during cornering. Without proper lubrication, friction increases, power delivery becomes inconsistent, and wear accelerates. This pure silicone formula has been specifically engineered to provide consistent lubrication across a wide range of conditions, making it suitable for both road racing and off-road RC cars. The 1000000 CST (centistoke) rating indicates an extremely high viscosity, making this oil ideal for drivers seeking maximum grip and control in their differential setup.

The 50ml bottle size offers excellent value and is perfectly proportioned for RC hobbyists. One bottle contains enough oil to service a differential multiple times, ensuring you have backup supplies for maintenance and setup experimentation. Whether you're ordering RC car parts online or visiting an RC specialist, keeping a bottle of quality diff oil in your maintenance kit is a smart investment in your RC hobby.

Key Features

  • Pure Silicone Formula — This diff oil is manufactured from pure silicone, which provides superior consistency and temperature stability compared to cheaper mineral-based alternatives. Silicone oil maintains its viscosity properties across a wider temperature range, meaning your differential performance remains consistent whether you're racing in summer heat or winter chill across the UK.
  • 1000000 CST Viscosity Rating — The 1000000 centistoke rating means this is an extremely thick, high-viscosity oil designed for maximum differential resistance and control. This viscosity level is ideal for racers who want the utmost precision in their setup and need a thicker oil to handle the demands of competitive racing or high-speed running.
  • Professional-Grade Performance — Fastrax has engineered this oil to meet the demands of serious RC competitors and experienced hobbyists who understand the importance of differential tuning. The consistent formulation ensures repeatable performance between maintenance intervals, allowing you to focus on driving rather than worrying about variable performance.
  • 50ml Bottle Size — The generous 50ml capacity provides multiple applications, making this bottle excellent value for money. You'll have enough oil for several differential services, plus backup supplies for experimentation with different viscosity levels to dial in your exact setup preferences.
  • Authorised Fastrax Product — As an officially manufactured Fastrax product, you're purchasing genuine quality with a recognised EAN code (5056135738283), ensuring compatibility and authenticity. This eliminates the risk of counterfeit or substandard oils that could damage your RC car's differential.

Technical Performance

The CML Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil represents professional-grade differential maintenance technology. The 1000000 CST viscosity specification makes this one of the thicker options available in the RC diff oil market, suitable for drivers who demand maximum differential locking and control characteristics. Pure silicone construction offers several engineering advantages over alternative formulations: it resists oxidation better, maintains more consistent viscosity across temperature variations, and provides superior film strength for protection under pressure. The 50ml bottle has been precisely sized to meet the needs of RC car owners, whether you're servicing a single differential or maintaining multiple vehicles in your fleet. This oil is compatible with standard RC differential housings across various platforms including Traxxas, Team Associated, Tamiya, Losi, HPI, Mugen, Axial Racing and other major RC manufacturers. The formulation has been tested to ensure it won't degrade rubber seals or gaskets commonly used in RC differentials, making it a safe choice for preventative maintenance that will extend the lifespan of your RC car's drivetrain components.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does CST mean and what is the difference between different CST ratings? — CST stands for centistokes, a unit of kinematic viscosity. It measures how thick the oil is. Lower CST numbers like 10000 CST produce thinner, more free-flowing oil that creates less resistance in the differential. Higher CST numbers like 1000000 CST (this product) create much thicker, more resistant oil that locks the differential more and provides more control. Choosing the right CST rating depends on your track conditions, driving style and whether you want a more free-spinning or locked differential setup.
  • How often should I change my differential oil? — Most RC racers change their differential oil every few hours of running time or whenever they notice the oil becoming discoloured or contaminated with dirt. For casual bashers, changing the oil every month or two is reasonable. Always check your RC car's maintenance schedule from the manufacturer, but generally more frequent oil changes mean better protection for your differential gears and bearings.
  • Will this diff oil work in my Traxxas, Team Associated, Tamiya or Losi RC car? — Yes. This pure silicone diff oil is a universal product compatible with all major RC car brands including Traxxas, Team Associated, Tamiya, Losi, HPI, Mugen, Axial Racing and others. As long as your RC car has a standard differential, this oil will work perfectly. Simply check your RC car's manual for the correct viscosity recommendation and amount needed.
  • What is the difference between this 1000000 CST oil and lighter options? — The 1000000 CST rating makes this one of the thickest diff oils available. Heavier oils create more resistance in the differential, resulting in better traction and more predictable handling characteristics, especially useful on high-grip surfaces. Lighter oils (like 100000 CST or 200000 CST) allow the wheels to slip more freely through the differential, which is sometimes preferred on low-grip surfaces. This product is for drivers who want maximum control and locking characteristics.
  • Is silicone diff oil better than mineral-based alternatives? — Pure silicone oil offers several advantages: superior temperature stability, better oxidation resistance, more consistent viscosity over time, and lower tendency to stain or damage plastics and rubbers used in RC cars. Whilst mineral oils are cheaper, silicone formulations like this one are the preferred choice among serious racers and experienced RC hobbyists who want predictable, professional-grade performance.
  • How much oil do I need for my differential? — The amount varies by RC car model. Most differentials require between 0.5ml and 2ml of oil depending on the size and design. Check your specific RC car's instruction manual for the exact amount. A 50ml bottle provides enough for many applications, making it excellent value whether you maintain one car or several.
