Overview
The Fastrax 23T Black Aluminium Servo Horn (KO/Sanwa) is a premium upgrade component designed for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand superior performance and durability from their steering and throttle assemblies. This heavy-duty servo arm represents a significant step up from standard plastic alternatives, offering the strength and precision that serious RC car enthusiasts require. Whether you're piloting a rock crawler, off-road buggy, or competition-grade RC vehicle, this machined aluminium servo horn delivers the reliability and performance characteristics that separate amateur setups from professional-grade installations.
Built with meticulous engineering and manufactured from black anodised aluminium, this servo horn combines aesthetic appeal with functional excellence. The Fastrax brand is recognised throughout the RC hobby in the UK for producing quality aftermarket parts that enhance vehicle performance and longevity. This particular model is specifically designed to fit KO and Sanwa servo types, making it compatible with a vast range of RC vehicles that utilise these industry-standard servos. The black anodised finish not only looks professional but also provides enhanced durability and corrosion resistance, ensuring your investment in this component delivers years of reliable service.
For RC enthusiasts in the UK upgrading from stock plastic servo horns, this heavy-duty aluminium alternative represents excellent value and a genuine performance enhancement. The additional engineering and material quality translate directly into improved steering response, reduced flex, and greater overall reliability during demanding driving sessions, whether you're bashing at high speeds or tackling technical terrain.
Key Features
- Black Anodised Aluminium Construction — The servo horn is manufactured from premium aluminium that has been black anodised to provide superior durability, corrosion resistance, and a professional appearance that will enhance the look of any RC setup.
- Heavy-Duty Design — Built to withstand the demands of serious RC driving, this servo horn is engineered with reinforced geometry to resist bending and flexing during aggressive manoeuvres and high-stress driving conditions.
- Additional Screw Clamping — The design incorporates additional screw clamping functionality that provides extra strength and security compared to standard single-point servo horn attachments, ensuring your servo arm remains rigidly fixed during operation.
- 23T Spline Fitment — Compatible with all servo types featuring 23-tooth splines, including the popular KO and Sanwa servo brands, giving you flexibility when selecting servo components for your RC vehicle.
- Precision Machined Geometry — Each servo horn is precisely machined to exact specifications, ensuring consistent hole placement and spline alignment across every unit for maximum compatibility and performance.
- Includes Hardware — The servo horn comes complete with mounting screw and aluminium countersunk washer, providing everything you need for installation without requiring additional fasteners.
- Fixed Servo Saver Configuration — This unit is designed as a fixed servo horn rather than servo saver type, offering a rigid connection ideal for applications requiring maximum steering precision and response.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax 23T Black Aluminium Servo Horn represents a significant engineering upgrade over standard plastic servo arms commonly found on entry-level RC vehicles. The use of machined aluminium throughout the component ensures superior rigidity and eliminates the flex and play that inevitably develops in plastic alternatives during extended use. The black anodised finish provides a protective layer that resists corrosion and wear, essential for RC vehicles operated in damp UK conditions or after exposure to water during creek crossings and water-based driving environments. The component features precisely defined mounting points, with measurements of 20mm from the centre of the spline to the centre of the outer hole, and 16mm from the centre of the spline to the inner hole, ensuring accurate servo control geometry and optimal steering response characteristics. The inclusion of additional screw clamping bolsters the structural integrity of the assembly, preventing the common issue of servo horn slippage that can occur under heavy steering loads during competition driving or aggressive bashing sessions. This is a genuine quality upgrade component that will noticeably improve the feel and response of your RC vehicle's steering system while providing long-term durability and reliability that justifies the investment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What servo types does this 23T servo horn fit? — This servo horn is specifically designed for KO and Sanwa servo brands that feature 23-tooth splines. These are among the most popular servo types used in mid-range and competition-grade RC vehicles throughout the UK hobby.
- Is this servo horn suitable for beginners? — Yes, whilst the Fastrax servo horn is a quality upgrade component, it is suitable for any RC hobbyist looking to improve their vehicle's steering assembly. Beginners will appreciate the improved durability and reduced maintenance compared to plastic alternatives, though it is particularly valued by experienced drivers pushing their vehicles harder.
- What is the difference between this fixed servo horn and a servo saver type? — This fixed servo horn design creates a rigid connection between the servo and the steering linkage, providing maximum steering precision and response. Servo saver designs include a shock-absorbing element that prevents crashes from directly transferring force to the servo. Choose fixed horns for precision steering applications and servo savers when running high-speed bash vehicles where impact protection is beneficial.
- Will this servo horn improve my RC vehicle's steering response? — Yes, upgrading from a plastic servo horn to this machined aluminium component significantly reduces flex and play in the steering system, resulting in more direct, responsive steering that translates to improved vehicle control and handling precision.
- Can I use this servo horn on multiple vehicles? — Yes, as long as each vehicle is equipped with KO or Sanwa 23T servo types, you can transfer this servo horn between different RC cars, making it a versatile upgrade component for multiple RC platforms.
- How do I install this servo horn? — Installation involves simply sliding the servo horn onto the 23T servo spline until it seats fully, then securing it using the included mounting screw and countersunk washer. Tighten the screw firmly to ensure no slippage occurs during operation.
