Stock up on these affordable, durable extension wires and enjoy the flexibility to configure your RC model exactly as you need it. The 20cm length strikes the perfect balance between providing useful extension range whilst keeping cable clutter to a minimum inside your vehicle's chassis. Available now from RC Model Shop, this is the kind of essential spare component that makes the difference between a frustrating build session and smooth, trouble-free setup and maintenance of your RC models.

Key Features

  • 20cm Length — The 20 centimetre measurement provides ample extension capability for routing wires between components without excessive slack or cable management issues. This is an ideal length for connecting receivers to servo connectors, extending battery leads, or bridging components inside a typical 1/10 or 1/8 scale RC chassis.
  • 22AWG Wire Gauge — The 22AWG (American Wire Gauge) specification indicates medium-duty conductors capable of handling standard servo currents and receiver power requirements. This gauge provides a good balance between flexibility for tight spaces and sufficient copper cross-section to minimise voltage drop over the 20cm run.
  • Dual JR Male Connectors — Both ends of this extension wire terminate in male JR connectors, the industry-standard connector format used on the vast majority of modern RC servos, receivers, battery connectors, and ESCs. This universal compatibility means the wire works with virtually any JR-equipped RC system without requiring adapters or modifications.
  • Compact and Lightweight — The modest physical footprint and minimal weight of this extension wire make it ideal for RC models where every gram counts towards performance and battery runtime. It adds virtually no weight penalty whilst providing essential connectivity flexibility.
  • Simple Tidy Wiring Solution — Using this extension wire helps create a professional, organised wiring loom inside your RC model, improving air flow around sensitive electronic components, making future maintenance easier, and giving your build a finished appearance that reflects your care and attention to detail.
  • Reliable eTronix Quality — eTronix components are trusted by RC enthusiasts throughout the UK and beyond. This extension wire represents the same quality standards and reliability that the brand is known for, meaning you can fit it and forget about it with confidence.

Technical Performance

The eTronix ET0757-20 extension wire is engineered with solid copper 22AWG conductors that deliver reliable signal transmission and power delivery to servo motors, receivers, and other RC components. The 22AWG gauge specification is perfectly suited to standard RC servo current draw and receiver power requirements, ensuring that voltage drop over the 20cm length remains negligible even during peak power demands from multiple servos or high-torque steering actuation. The dual JR male connectors are securely moulded and designed to provide firm, reliable seating in standard JR-style receptacles — the kind you'll find on Futaba, Spektrum, and other major brand receivers and servos used in RC cars UK and beyond. The overall construction emphasises reliability and longevity; these are not throwaway connectors but properly engineered components designed to withstand repeated connection and disconnection cycles during building, maintenance, and upgrade work. Whether you're running a brushless RC buggy with high-torque steering demands, a nitro-powered truck with traditional servo systems, or an electric off-road crawler with multiple servo control requirements, this extension wire provides the electrical performance and mechanical durability you need. The flexibility of the wire itself makes routing through tight spaces in modern chassis designs straightforward, whilst the protective insulation ensures safety and prevents accidental shorts.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the eTronix ET0757-20 extension wire suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is one of the most straightforward RC spares to use — it requires no soldering, no crimping, and no technical knowledge whatsoever. Simply plug the male connectors into female receptacles on your receiver, servo, or battery connector. Beginners building their first ready to run RC car UK or assembling a race kit will find this extension wire invaluable for managing wire routing and component placement without frustration.
  • What connector type does this extension wire use? — The eTronix ET0757-20 uses JR-style male connectors on both ends. These are the industry-standard connectors found on the vast majority of modern RC receivers, servos, ESCs, and battery connectors. If your RC model uses JR connectors, this wire will work perfectly; if your model uses Spektrum, Futaba, or other major brand receivers with standard servo connectors, they will be compatible with JR-style male connectors.
  • What is the 22AWG wire gauge suitable for? — The 22AWG specification is ideal for servo connections, receiver power leads, gyro connections, and other standard RC electronics that draw moderate currents. It's commonly used throughout the RC industry for these applications and provides an excellent balance between flexibility and current-carrying capacity. For high-current battery main leads in brushless systems, heavier gauge wire (like 16AWG or 14AWG) is typically preferred, but for receiver, servo, and auxiliary connections, 22AWG is the standard and this wire meets that specification perfectly.
  • Why would I need an extension wire for my RC model? — Extension wires give you flexibility in component placement within your RC vehicle's chassis. Rather than being constrained by the fixed length of servo connector wires that come with receivers or ESCs, you can extend connections to position servos further from the receiver, route wires around obstacles, or manage cable routing more neatly. This is especially useful when upgrading receivers, repositioning servos, or custom-building your RC buggy, truck, or crawler.
  • Is this extension wire compatible with my receiver? — If your receiver has female JR-style connectors, this extension wire will plug directly into those connectors with no modifications needed. Most modern RC receivers from brands like Spektrum, Futaba, and others use JR connector format for servo outputs, making this wire widely compatible. Check your receiver's documentation or connector type to confirm compatibility.
  • Can I use this extension wire for battery connections? — Whilst 22AWG wire can handle standard servo currents, for main battery power leads on high-current brushless systems, heavier gauge wire is typically recommended. However, for auxiliary battery connections, BEC leads, or battery connector extensions where moderate currents flow, this 22AWG wire is perfectly suitable and commonly used throughout the hobby.
