- Wide Input Voltage Range (9V to 25V) — This regulator accepts input voltages anywhere from 9V to 25V, meaning you can power it from single-cell, multi-cell, or even higher voltage battery packs, giving you maximum flexibility in your power configuration without requiring multiple regulators for different setups.
- Regulated 7.4V Output — The unit delivers a constant, stable 7.4V output regardless of input voltage fluctuations, ensuring your receiver electronics receive clean power that maintains consistent performance throughout your run without voltage sag issues.
- 5A Current Capacity — With a maximum output current of 5 amps, this regulator can power standard receiver packs with plenty of headroom, making it suitable for most RC car, truck, buggy and crawler applications running typical servo loads.
- Factory-Installed Female JST Input Connector — The input connector is pre-fitted with a female JST connector, clearly denoting where your power source plugs in, eliminating confusion during setup and ensuring correct polarity connection.
- Factory-Installed Male JST Output Connector — The output features a pre-fitted male JST connector, making it immediately compatible with standard receiver packs and servo leads without requiring additional adapters or modifications.
- Protective Casing — The regulator comes fully enclosed in a protective casing measuring 20x14x49mm, protecting internal components from damage, dust, and accidental short circuits during transport and operation.
- Lightweight Design — At just 19g, this regulator adds minimal weight to your build, which is crucial for maintaining optimal weight distribution and handling characteristics in competitive RC racing and bashing applications.
- Compact Form Factor — The small 20x14x49mm dimensions allow easy integration into tight battery trays, receiver boxes, and installation spaces where space is at a premium on your RC model.
Technical Performance
The Etronix Li-Po Regulator 7.4V 5A delivers impressive technical performance in a remarkably compact package. Built to Etronix's quality standards, this regulator uses voltage regulation circuitry that handles input voltages ranging from 9V to 25V with efficiency, outputting a stable 7.4V suitable for powering receiver packs in RC cars, trucks, buggies, crawlers and other remote control vehicles. The 5-amp output capacity provides ample current to run multiple servos and receiver systems simultaneously without voltage drooping, which is essential during high-demand manoeuvres where servo loads spike briefly. The engineering is straightforward and reliable — this isn't a cutting-edge piece of equipment, but rather a proven solution that has earned the trust of RC hobbyists across the UK and beyond. The factory-installed JST connectors are a major convenience factor, eliminating the need to source and solder your own connectors. The protective casing around the electronics ensures long-term durability and protects against the inevitable bumps, crashes, and vibrations that come with RC hobby use. Whether you're running a brushless RC buggy pulling hard at maximum throttle, a ready to run RC truck bouncing over rough terrain, or a precision crawler navigating rocky obstacles, this regulator maintains receiver voltage stability that lets your electronics perform at their best.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What battery voltage can I use with this regulator? — The Etronix regulator accepts input voltages between 9V and 25V, so you can power it from 2S (7.4V) right up to 6S (22.2V) LiPo batteries, making it compatible with virtually any modern RC power pack configuration.
- What output voltage does this regulator provide? — This unit delivers a regulated 7.4V output, which is the standard voltage for most modern receiver packs in RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers used throughout the UK.
- Is this suitable for beginners to RC? — Yes, this regulator is ideal for beginners because it's ready to use with factory-fitted connectors requiring no soldering or technical modification, and the wide input voltage range means you can use whatever batteries you have available without compatibility concerns.
- How much current can this regulator supply? — The unit is rated for 5 amps output, which is more than sufficient to power standard receiver packs with multiple servos, even under the demanding conditions of competitive RC racing or aggressive bashing.
- Why would I need a voltage regulator for my RC setup? — A voltage regulator ensures your receiver electronics receive stable, clean power regardless of input voltage source, preventing receiver shutdowns from voltage sag during high-demand servo operation and protecting sensitive electronics from overvoltage when using higher-voltage battery packs.
- How does this compare to other 7.4V regulators? — The Etronix regulator stands out for its compact dimensions, lightweight design, generous 5-amp output capacity, and especially its factory-fitted JST connectors that eliminate the need for soldering, making it an excellent choice for builders who want convenience alongside reliability.
- Can I use this with a 6S LiPo battery? — Yes, a 6S LiPo (nominal 22.2V) falls well within the 9V to 25V input range, so this regulator will accept and regulate 6S battery packs without any issues, though you should ensure your battery pack's peak voltage remains below 25V.
- What are the physical dimensions? — The regulator measures 20x14x49mm and weighs just 19g, making it small enough to fit into battery trays and receiver compartments even on compact ready to run RC models.
