Overview
The Etronix Li-Po Regulator 6.0V 5A with casing is a cunning little unit that opens up a world of possibilities for RC car enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're running a high-powered electric RC buggy, RC monster truck, or any other battery-dependent model, this voltage regulator allows you to use batteries ranging from 7 to 25 volts to reliably power your receiver pack. This means you can harness the power of higher-voltage LiPo batteries in your RC setup whilst maintaining the precise 6.0V output your receiver demands, giving you flexibility and performance without compromise.
Designed with the practical needs of RC hobbyists in mind, this regulator is especially valuable for anyone looking to maximise their RC car UK performance or upgrade their current setup. Rather than being limited to specific battery configurations, you gain the freedom to experiment with different power sources whilst knowing your receiver will always receive stable, regulated power. The compact cased design means it integrates seamlessly into your model without taking up excessive space, and the factory-fitted JST connectors mean installation is straightforward even for those new to RC hobby electronics.
At just 19 grams, this regulator is lightweight enough not to upset your model's balance, yet robust enough to deliver continuous 5A output reliably. If you're serious about getting the most from your RC investment—whether you're a weekend basher, a competitive racer, or someone discovering the world of ready to run RC for the first time—having a quality voltage regulator in your toolkit is essential.
Key Features
- Wide Input Voltage Range (7V to 25V) — This regulator accepts input from almost any modern LiPo battery configuration, giving you tremendous flexibility in your RC car setup and allowing you to upgrade your power source without needing new electronics. This broad compatibility is invaluable for UK RC enthusiasts who want to experiment with different battery specs.
- Stable 6.0V Output — Regardless of your input voltage, this regulator delivers a consistent and regulated 6.0V to your receiver pack, ensuring your RC model's receiver, servo, and other electronics operate reliably without the risk of under or overvoltage damage.
- 5A Continuous Output — With a 5-amp rated output, this regulator can handle the power demands of multiple servos and receiver circuits simultaneously, making it suitable for everything from simple 2WD RC cars to more complex multi-servo setups in RC buggies and trucks.
- Factory-Fitted JST Connectors — Both the input (female JST) and output (male JST) connectors come pre-installed from the factory, eliminating the need for soldering and reducing the risk of connection errors. This makes setup straightforward for anyone, regardless of their electronics experience.
- Compact Cased Design — Measuring just 20x14x49mm and weighing only 19 grams, this regulator fits neatly into tight spaces within your RC chassis without adding significant weight or bulk. The protective casing shields the internal components from damage and dust.
- Reliable Etronix Engineering — Etronix is a trusted brand in the RC hobby community, known for producing dependable electronic components. This regulator represents the quality and reliability you can expect from their product range.
Technical Performance
This voltage regulator represents solid engineering for the RC enthusiast looking to expand their power options. The internal circuit is designed to handle a substantial 5-amp continuous output, which is sufficient for most receiver configurations including multiple digital servos that you might find in a typical RC buggy or RC monster truck. The wide input voltage specification (7V to 25V) means you could theoretically run this regulator from 2S LiPo batteries at the lower end through to 6S or even higher voltage systems at the top end, though practical RC applications typically use 3S through 4S setups for cars and 6S for larger trucks. The stable 6.0V regulation means your receiver electronics—which are typically rated for 4.8V to 6.0V—will always operate within specification, extending their lifespan and ensuring consistent performance whether you're on the track, bashing through rough terrain, or competing in UK RC championships. The lightweight aluminium or plastic casing provides both thermal management and protection against impacts and moisture, whilst the factory-installed JST connectors use industry-standard connectors that ensure secure, reliable connections without the need for soldering expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use this Etronix regulator with my Spectrum receiver? — Yes, this regulator will work with any brand receiver that accepts a 6V input, including Spectrum, Futaba, and other major RC receiver manufacturers. The factory-installed JST connectors make connection straightforward.
- What battery voltage can I use with this 6V regulator? — You can use any LiPo, NiMH, or other battery system that delivers between 7 and 25 volts input. This means 2S LiPo batteries (7.4V nominal) right through to very high-voltage systems, though most RC cars use 3S (11.1V) or 4S (14.8V) configurations.
- Is this suitable for beginners in the RC hobby? — Absolutely. Whilst voltage regulation is an intermediate topic in RC electronics, the factory-fitted connectors and straightforward JST interface make installation accessible even for beginners. Simply connect your battery to the female input connector and your receiver to the male output connector.
- Will this regulator fit in my RC model? — With dimensions of just 20x14x49mm and a weight of only 19 grams, this compact regulator fits in virtually any RC car, RC truck, or RC buggy without significantly affecting weight distribution or requiring major chassis modifications.
- What is the difference between the 6.0V and 4.8V Etronix regulators? — The 6.0V model (ET0556) outputs 6 volts, making it ideal for receivers and servos rated for 6V operation, whilst the 4.8V version outputs 4.8 volts for receivers requiring lower voltage. Choose based on your specific receiver's voltage requirements.
- Can I use this with a brushless RC car? — This regulator is designed for powering receiver packs, not ESCs. Your ESC will connect directly to your main battery, whilst this regulator powers your receiver and servos from the same battery source. This is common in UK RC racing and bashing setups.
