Overview

The Etronix Li-Po Regulator 4.8V 5A is an essential component for any RC enthusiast in the UK who wants to power their receiver pack reliably and consistently. This cunning little unit represents a smart investment for RC car UK hobbyists, RC drone pilots, and anyone running multiple RC models who needs flexible power management across different battery configurations. Whether you're a seasoned competitor, a weekend basher, or just discovering the world of RC for the first time, this regulator solves one of the most common challenges in RC model setup: delivering stable, regulated voltage to your receiver regardless of which battery you have in your model.

What makes this regulator stand out is its extraordinary versatility. Unlike fixed-voltage solutions, the Etronix ET0555 accepts input voltages ranging from 6V right up to 25V, meaning you can use virtually any LiPo battery pack from 2S (7.4V nominal) through to 6S (22.2V nominal) and beyond. This flexibility is invaluable for RC enthusiasts who run different model types or upgrade their power systems over time. The regulator maintains a precise 4.8V output regardless of input voltage fluctuations, ensuring your receiver, servos, and ancillary electronics operate within their optimal voltage range, improving reliability and extending component lifespan.

Ready to run RC builds and high-performance racing setups both benefit from quality voltage regulation. The Etronix regulator delivers the steady power your radio receiver and servos demand, reducing the risk of glitches, signal loss, or servo jitter that can occur with undervolted or unstable power supplies. Its compact form factor and included protective casing make installation straightforward in tight spaces, perfect for modern RC cars UK models where every millimetre counts.

Key Features

  • Wide Input Voltage Range 6V to 25V — This regulator accepts any battery voltage from 6V up to 25V, providing exceptional flexibility across your entire RC collection. Whether you're using small 2S packs or larger 6S systems, this single regulator works with all of them, eliminating the need for multiple voltage-specific units.
  • Stable 4.8V Output Voltage — The regulator delivers a precisely regulated 4.8V output regardless of input voltage changes, ensuring your receiver pack operates at its optimal voltage. This stability prevents servo glitches, extends receiver lifespan, and improves overall system reliability during racing or basking.
  • 5A Maximum Output Current — With a 5A capacity, this regulator provides ample current to power receiver units and multiple servos simultaneously without voltage sag or brown-out conditions. This current rating suits everything from basic RTR models to high-performance racing setups with numerous servos and accessories.
  • Factory-Installed JST Connectors — The regulator comes ready to use with a female JST connector on the input (for battery connection) and a male JST connector on the output (for receiver connection). These industry-standard connectors ensure compatibility with most RC equipment, and the pre-installed connections save you setup time and eliminate soldering concerns.
  • Compact Protective Casing — Measuring just 20 x 14 x 49mm and weighing only 19g, the regulator includes protective casing that allows neat, professional installation in confined spaces common to modern RC chassis designs. The casing protects internal circuitry from vibration, impacts, and accidental shorts while maintaining an extremely compact footprint.
  • Lightweight Design — At just 19 grams, this regulator adds minimal weight to your RC model. For performance-focused RC car UK builds and competitive racing, every gram matters, and this unit demonstrates Etronix's commitment to weight-conscious design without compromising functionality.

Technical Performance

The Etronix Li-Po Regulator ET0555 represents solid engineering in power management electronics. It accepts input voltages spanning 6V to 25V, covering the complete range of single-cell LiPo batteries (2.2V per cell) from 2S through 6S configurations and even 7S packs used in high-performance racing. The internal voltage regulation circuit maintains a precise 4.8V output with 5A continuous current capacity, sufficient for receiver units drawing moderate current plus multiple digital or analogue servos without voltage sag. The 19-gram weight keeps your RC model's centre of gravity low, critical for handling characteristics in competitive racing or precise manoeuvre work. The 20 x 14 x 49mm dimensions — delivered in protective casing — fit into the compact electronics bays typical of modern ready to run RC models and race kits alike. The factory-installed female JST input connector accepts standard LiPo battery plugs, whilst the male JST output connector plugs directly into most receivers currently available in the UK RC market. Build quality is typical of Etronix components: reliable, straightforward design focused on essential functionality rather than unnecessary complexity, making this regulator equally suitable for recreational bashers and serious competitors.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What voltage battery can I use with the Etronix 4.8V 5A regulator? — This regulator accepts input voltages from 6V to 25V, meaning it works with 2S LiPo packs (7.4V nominal) through to 6S packs (22.2V nominal) and beyond. This makes it an exceptionally versatile choice for anyone with multiple RC models using different battery sizes.
  • Is this regulator suitable for my receiver pack? — Yes, provided your receiver requires 4.8V operation. Most standard RC receivers are designed to run at 4.8V nominal, making this regulator ideal for powering receiver units and servos reliably. If you're uncertain about your receiver's voltage requirements, check the documentation or contact the manufacturer.
  • How many servos can this regulator power? — With a 5A maximum output capacity, this regulator can power multiple servos simultaneously. Most digital servos draw 0.5A to 1.5A under load, meaning you can typically run three to five servos depending on their specifications and duty cycle. For specific servo configurations, check individual servo current ratings and calculate total draw.
  • What is the difference between the 4.8V, 6.0V, and 7.4V Etronix regulators? — Etronix produces this regulator in multiple output voltage versions. The ET0555 delivers 4.8V output and accepts 6V to 25V input. Alternative versions include 6.0V output (accepting 7V to 25V input) and 7.4V output (accepting 9V to 25V input). Choose the version matching your receiver's voltage requirement; most standard receivers use 4.8V, making the ET0555 the most common choice.
  • Do I need to solder anything to use this regulator? — No, the Etronix ET0555 comes with factory-installed JST connectors on both input and output, so you can connect it directly to your battery and receiver without any soldering required. Simply plug in your battery and receiver connector, and you're ready to go.
  • Is this regulator suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is an ideal component for beginners because it requires no technical knowledge to install. Simply connect your battery to the female JST input connector and your receiver to the male JST output connector. The regulator handles all voltage regulation automatically, protecting your expensive receiver from voltage fluctuations.
