Overview
The Etronix Brushless Motor Sensor Wire with Silicone Tube 150mm (ET0396S) is an essential spare part and replacement component for anyone running sensored brushless motor setups in their RC vehicles. Whether you're a dedicated RC enthusiast in the UK operating brushless RC cars, trucks, or buggies, or a weekend basher who needs reliable replacement parts, this compact sensor lead is designed to provide the flexible protection and neat cable routing that modern sensored brushless systems demand. The sensor wire is a critical component that allows your brushless electronic speed controller (ESC) to communicate with your brushless motor, enabling smooth acceleration curves and precise motor control that simply isn't possible with non-sensored alternatives.
This 150mm brushless motor sensor wire from Etronix represents outstanding value for money and is particularly useful as a spare component to keep in your pit box during RC racing events or casual bashing sessions. The compact 150mm length makes it ideal for tight installations where space is at a premium, such as in modern RC buggies, short course trucks, and competition-grade vehicles where every millimetre of chassis real estate counts. If you've ever damaged a sensor wire during a crash or needed a replacement for a sensored brushless setup, you'll appreciate having quality spares on hand. RC Model Shop stocks this genuine Etronix part, ensuring you get an authentic component that matches the exact specifications your motor and ESC require.
The silicone sleeving protection means this sensor wire won't crack or degrade quickly like cheaper plastic alternatives, making it a smart investment for any RC enthusiast who wants their sensored brushless system to perform reliably race after race, bash after bash. Whether you're upgrading your RC car to brushless power for the first time or maintaining an existing sensored brushless setup, having quality replacement sensor wires like the ET0396S ensures your system stays running smoothly.
Key Features
- 150mm Length — The compact 150mm size is specifically engineered for short cable runs between your brushless motor and ESC, making this ideal for tight installations in modern RC buggies, trucks, and competition vehicles where space constraints require shorter sensor leads. This length eliminates excess cable that would otherwise need to be bundled and taped, keeping your RC car's chassis clean and organised.
- Silicone Tube Protection — The protective silicone sleeving offers superior flexibility compared to rigid plastic alternatives, allowing the sensor wire to bend and route neatly through tight spaces without cracking or becoming brittle over time. Silicone protection is significantly more durable and temperature-resistant than standard PVC sleeving, meaning your sensor connection stays protected even during intense racing or high-speed bashing sessions where heat generation is significant.
- Sensored Brushless Compatible — This sensor wire is specifically designed for sensored brushless motor systems, enabling communication between your brushless ESC and brushless motor. Sensored brushless setups provide smoother acceleration, better torque delivery at low speeds, and more efficient power management compared to non-sensored alternatives, making this wire essential for maximising your RC vehicle's performance.
- Quality Spare Component — As an official Etronix replacement part, this sensor wire ensures you have a genuine component that matches manufacturer specifications exactly. Having quality spares in your pit box prevents downtime during RC racing or casual play, allowing you to quickly swap out damaged sensor wires and get back to driving without compromise.
- Flexible Installation Routing — The silicone tube allows for tidy cable management and flexible routing between your motor and ESC, helping you achieve a professional, organised appearance on your RC model whilst ensuring the sensor connection remains protected from dirt, moisture, and physical damage during rough terrain driving.
Technical Performance
The Etronix ET0396S brushless motor sensor wire is engineered with precision for sensored brushless systems that demand reliable communication between the motor and ESC. The 150mm length has been specifically chosen as a practical standard for most modern RC applications, providing sufficient cable length for compact installations without excess material that would require bundling. The silicone tube construction represents a significant upgrade over cheaper plastic alternatives commonly found on budget RC parts, offering superior flexibility and durability across a wide temperature range — important for RC vehicles that experience temperature fluctuations during intense driving sessions. The sensor wire's design follows Etronix's commitment to quality engineering and reliability, making it suitable for both recreational RC car users and competitive racers who need consistent performance. The silicone sleeving resists UV degradation and maintains its protective properties over extended periods of storage and use, ensuring your replacement sensor wire maintains its integrity throughout multiple seasons of RC driving. This is a genuine OEM replacement part that guarantees compatibility with Etronix brushless motor systems and other standard sensored brushless setups, though compatibility ultimately depends on your specific motor and ESC connector standards — always refer to your motor and ESC manufacturer's documentation to confirm compatibility before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a brushless motor sensor wire and why do I need it? — A sensor wire connects your brushless ESC to your brushless motor, enabling the ESC to monitor the motor's position and rotation speed in real time. This sensored feedback allows your ESC to provide smooth, linear acceleration curves and better throttle responsiveness compared to non-sensored brushless setups. Without a functioning sensor wire, sensored brushless systems cannot operate correctly, making this a critical component for any sensored brushless RC car, truck, or buggy.
- Is the 150mm length suitable for my RC vehicle? — The 150mm length is ideal for compact installations and tight spaces, making it suitable for most modern RC buggies, short course trucks, and competition vehicles. However, suitability depends on your specific motor and ESC placement within your RC chassis. Always measure the distance between your motor's sensor connector and your ESC's sensor port before ordering, and consult your motor and ESC manuals for recommended sensor wire length specifications. If you need a longer or shorter sensor wire, contact RC Model Shop for alternative lengths.
- What makes silicone sleeving better than plastic tubing? — Silicone sleeving offers superior flexibility, durability, and temperature resistance compared to standard PVC plastic tubing. Silicone remains flexible across a wider temperature range, doesn't become brittle with age or UV exposure, and provides better long-term protection for your sensor wire connections. For RC enthusiasts who drive frequently or participate in competitive racing, silicone protection ensures your sensor wire stays protected and functional through many seasons of use.
- Will this sensor wire work with any brushless motor and ESC? — Compatibility depends on your specific motor and ESC connector types and required cable length. Most modern sensored brushless systems use standardised connectors, but some premium or older components may use proprietary connections. Always check your motor and ESC manuals before purchasing, or contact RC Model Shop with your motor and ESC model numbers for compatibility confirmation.
- Is this a genuine Etronix part? — Yes, this is an official Etronix ET0396S replacement part sourced from authorised distributors. Genuine Etronix components ensure compatibility and reliability with Etronix brushless motors and other standard sensored brushless systems. Purchasing genuine spares from RC Model Shop guarantees you receive authentic parts with proper quality assurance.
- Can beginners easily install this sensor wire? — Yes, sensor wire installation is straightforward — simply disconnect the old sensor wire from both your motor and ESC connectors, then connect the new wire in the same orientation. However, always refer to your motor and ESC instruction manuals for specific connection guidelines. If you're unsure about installation, the team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance — contact us on 01543 577278 or visit our Walsall store for assistance.
