Overview

The eTronix Brushless Motor Sensor Wire with Braided Sleeve (ET0396B) is an essential accessory for RC enthusiasts running sensored brushless motor systems. Whether you're building a competition-grade RC car in the UK or setting up a reliable weekend basher, this 150mm sensor cable provides the critical connection between your sensored ESC and brushless motor. Sensored brushless motors have become the standard in modern RC car setups, offering superior acceleration control, smoother low-speed performance and improved efficiency compared to sensorless alternatives. This makes the ET0396B an indispensable component for anyone serious about getting the best from their brushless RC vehicle.

Measuring 150mm in length, this sensor wire is specifically designed for compact installations where space is at a premium and tidy cable management is essential. The braided outer sleeve protects the delicate sensor conductors from damage during installation, transport and use, whilst keeping your RC model's interior wiring clean and professionally organised. Whether you're upgrading an existing brushless RC setup, replacing a damaged sensor wire or building a new sensored brushless system from scratch, the eTronix ET0396B delivers reliable signal transfer and trustworthy performance. RC car UK hobbyists and professionals alike depend on quality sensor cables like this to ensure their brushless systems perform at their best, lap after lap.

The eTronix brand is recognised throughout the RC hobby community for manufacturing quality components that deliver consistent performance. This sensor wire represents excellent value for money, offering genuine protection and durability in a compact, easy-to-install package. If you're running a sensored brushless motor in your RC car setup, you need a reliable sensor cable you can trust—the eTronix ET0396B is exactly that.

Key Features

  • 150mm length — The 150mm cable length makes this sensor wire perfectly suited to compact RC installations where space is limited, such as 1/10 scale racing buggies, touring cars and truggy platforms where routing cables neatly without excess slack is a priority.
  • Braided outer sleeve protection — The cable features a protective braided sleeve that shields the internal sensor conductors from physical damage, abrasion and strain during installation, handling and high-vibration RC operation, extending the lifespan of your sensor cable.
  • Standard sensor connector compatibility — This is a standard sensor cable design that works with most sensored brushless motor and ESC combinations available for RC cars, making it a universal solution for RC enthusiasts maintaining or upgrading multiple brushless systems.
  • Reliable signal transfer — The eTronix ET0396B is engineered to deliver consistent, interference-free signal transmission between your sensored ESC and brushless motor, which is essential for stable motor control, smooth acceleration response and predictable handling characteristics in your RC car.
  • Tidy cable management — By providing a compact, braided sleeve construction, this sensor wire allows you to keep your RC model's internal wiring organised and professional-looking, reducing vibration-induced noise and improving overall build quality.

Technical Performance

The eTronix Brushless Motor Sensor Wire ET0396B is manufactured to the exacting standards expected in the RC hobby, using quality materials and precision engineering throughout. The cable combines copper conductor strands with a protective PVC insulation layer, covered by a braided outer sleeve that provides mechanical protection without adding excessive bulk or weight. At 150mm long, this sensor wire is optimally dimensioned for popular 1/10 scale RC platforms including touring cars, short course trucks, buggies and truggys, where it can be routed cleanly from the motor to the ESC with minimal slack. The braided sleeve design not only protects the cable from damage but also provides a degree of electromagnetic shielding, helping to maintain clean signal integrity even in electrically noisy environments common in RC racing. The standard connector configuration ensures compatibility with the vast majority of sensored brushless systems currently available on the UK RC market, making this an essential spare or replacement cable for any brushless RC car enthusiast. Whether you're running a high-powered 4S LiPo brushless system or a more modest 3S setup, this sensor cable delivers the reliable performance needed for consistent motor control and smooth operation across all power levels and racing conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the eTronix ET0396B sensor wire compatible with most brushless motors and ESCs? — Yes, the eTronix ET0396B is a standard sensor cable design that is compatible with the majority of sensored brushless motor and ESC combinations available for RC cars. The standard connector configuration means it will work with most popular ESC brands and brushless motor manufacturers used in the UK RC hobby, including systems from Hobbywing, Spektrum, Traxxas and many others. If you're unsure about compatibility with your specific setup, we recommend contacting our team at RC Model Shop for confirmation before purchasing.
  • Can I use this sensor wire with compact 1/10 scale RC cars? — The 150mm length makes the eTronix ET0396B ideal for compact 1/10 scale installations. Whether you're building a touring car, short course truck, off-road buggy or stadium truck setup, this cable length allows for neat routing from motor to ESC without excess slack. The braided sleeve also helps keep your wiring tidy inside smaller chassis spaces, improving overall build quality and reducing vibration-induced issues.
  • What is the braided sleeve for on this sensor cable? — The braided outer sleeve serves two important functions. Firstly, it provides mechanical protection for the delicate sensor conductors inside, protecting them from abrasion, pinching and impact damage during installation and RC operation. Secondly, the braided design helps with cable management, allowing you to route the wire neatly inside your RC car whilst maintaining a professional appearance. The protective sleeve also offers some degree of electromagnetic shielding, which can help maintain clean signal transfer in electrically noisy racing environments.
  • How do I know if my sensor cable needs replacing? — You should replace your sensor cable if you experience erratic motor behaviour, inconsistent acceleration response, or if your ESC is not properly recognising your sensored brushless motor. Visible damage to the cable insulation or braided sleeve is also a sign that replacement is necessary. The eTronix ET0396B is an affordable spare that every sensored brushless RC enthusiast should keep in their spares box for maintenance and repair purposes.
  • Is this suitable for beginners setting up their first sensored brushless RC car? — Yes, the eTronix ET0396B is suitable for RC beginners who are learning about sensored brushless systems. Installing a sensor cable is a straightforward task that doesn't require specialist tools or experience. The 150mm length and braided sleeve make it forgiving to work with, and the standard connector design means you're unlikely to encounter compatibility issues. Our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance if you have questions about installation during your brushless RC car setup.
