Overview
The Etronix Sport Tuned Modified 19T Brushed Motor (ET0307) is an excellent upgrade choice for RC enthusiasts looking to enhance their brushed motor setup without breaking the bank. Whether you're running an RC buggy, truck, or other brushed motor application, this 19-turn modified motor delivers impressive performance at a competitive price point. The Sport Tuned range from Etronix represents a significant step up from stock brushed motors, offering genuine performance improvements and the kind of build quality you'd expect from an established RC brand. If you're searching for a reliable brushed RC motor upgrade in the UK, this is a straightforward and dependable option that combines affordability with real engineering quality.
This motor is particularly suited to hobbyists and weekend bashers who want better performance than standard stock motors but don't want the complexity or cost of brushless systems. The 19T wind offers a balanced approach between top speed and overall performance, making it suitable for a variety of applications and driving styles. Many RC car enthusiasts in the UK choose the Sport Tuned range because it represents genuine value—you're getting features typically found on more expensive motors at a sensible price that won't empty your wallet.
The beauty of the Sport Tuned Modified 19T is that it's ready to go straight out of the box with just minor preparation. There's no extensive break-in period required, meaning you can get your RC car back on the track or trail quickly and start enjoying the performance benefits immediately. Etronix has engineered this motor for reliability and smooth running, which means consistent performance across multiple sessions without the frustration of premature wear or unreliable operation.
Key Features
- Rebuildable Can and Endbell Design — The motor features a fully rebuildable construction, which means you can disassemble, clean, and refresh the internal components over time. This design philosophy extends the life of your motor significantly and saves money in the long run, as you won't need to replace the entire motor just because some internal components have worn. It's an environmentally responsible approach that serious RC hobbyists appreciate.
- Ball Bearings for Smooth Operation — High-quality ball bearings support the motor's rotating shaft, providing smooth, efficient running that translates directly to better performance. Ball bearings reduce friction compared to simpler bearing designs, which means more of your electrical energy goes into driving your RC car rather than being lost as heat. This efficiency improvement results in longer runtime and more consistent power delivery throughout your battery cycle.
- Replaceable Brushes and Springs — Rather than discarding the entire motor when brushes wear out, you can simply replace them. This is a significant cost-saving feature and demonstrates the robust, serviceable design philosophy behind this motor. Brushes are a normal wear item in brushed motors, so having the ability to replace them easily keeps maintenance simple and affordable, extending the overall lifespan of your investment.
- Sport Tuned Modified Series — This motor belongs to Etronix's recognised Sport Tuned range, which has earned a reputation for delivering genuine performance improvements over stock motors at price points that make sense for recreational RC enthusiasts. The range spans from 15T through to 55T, meaning there's a variant for virtually every brushed motor application you might be running.
- 19T Wind Configuration — The 19-turn winding strikes an excellent balance between top-end speed and overall torque and responsiveness. This makes it suitable for a variety of driving scenarios, from casual bashing to more spirited runs. It's not too aggressive that you'll struggle with control, but it's powerful enough to deliver noticeable performance gains over stock setups.
- Ready-to-Run Simplicity — Unlike brushless systems that require careful battery selection and ESC programming, this brushed motor integrates easily into existing brushed RC setups. If your car is currently running a stock brushed motor, the 19T Sport Tuned is designed to drop straight in as a direct replacement, making the upgrade process straightforward and hassle-free.
Technical Performance
The Etronix Sport Tuned Modified 19T Brushed Motor is engineered with attention to the fundamentals that matter to RC car UK enthusiasts: reliability, performance, and value. The motor's construction combines quality materials with proven design principles that have been refined through years of brushed motor development. The ball bearing support system ensures smooth, efficient rotation with minimal friction, which directly impacts both performance and battery runtime. The rebuildable can and endbell design means you're not locked into replacing the entire motor when wear occurs—instead, you can maintain it like a proper piece of RC equipment should be maintained. This approach to serviceability is increasingly rare in budget-conscious RC products, making the Sport Tuned range stand out from competitors. The replaceable brushes and springs further reinforce this philosophy, allowing you to keep your motor running optimally through simple maintenance tasks. The 19T winding provides a sensible middle ground for most applications; it's more aggressive than stock motors but not so extreme that it sacrifices control or becomes difficult to manage. Designed to run from a 7.2V source, this motor integrates seamlessly with standard brushed ESC setups, making it an ideal upgrade path for existing RC car owners looking to boost performance without a complete system overhaul. The motor comes with cable but will require soldering to your existing ESC connector, so basic soldering skills are assumed. Whether you're upgrading a vintage RC car, restoring a classic model, or simply looking for better performance in your current setup, the Sport Tuned Modified 19T delivers genuine improvements in a package that won't strain your budget.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this motor suitable for replacing a stock brushed motor in my RC car? — Yes, absolutely. The Sport Tuned Modified 19T is designed as a direct replacement for stock brushed motors in most standard RC cars and buggies. It will fit in the same motor pod and integrate with your existing ESC and battery setup. However, always check your specific vehicle's documentation to confirm motor compatibility, as some smaller vehicles like the Losi Mini-T 2.0 may not have sufficient space for this motor.
- What voltage should I run this motor on? — The motor is designed to run from a 7.2V source, which is the standard for brushed RC systems. While Etronix doesn't specify a minimum operating voltage, the motor will operate at lower voltages but with reduced RPM and performance. For best results and to unlock the motor's full potential, stick with 7.2V or higher if your vehicle supports it.
- Will this motor work with a Hobbywing 1060 ESC? — The motor includes cable but requires soldering to connect to your ESC. The Hobbywing 1060 is a brushed ESC, so it should be compatible, but you'll need soldering skills to connect the motor leads to the ESC. If you're not comfortable soldering, ask your local RC hobby shop to make the connection for you.
- Do I need to break in this motor before using it? — No, the Sport Tuned Modified 19T is ready to use right out of the box. However, Etronix recommends taking it easy for the first five minutes or so of operation—gentle acceleration and light throttle application during this initial run-in period helps ensure optimal performance and longevity. After that brief warm-up, you can use it normally.
- What RPM can I expect from this motor? — Exact RPM specifications are not provided by Etronix, as RPM depends on your specific battery voltage, battery capacity, ESC, gear ratios, and load. However, as a 19T modified motor on a 7.2V system, you can expect substantially higher RPM than stock motors but with good torque characteristics. For specific RPM data, contact the RC Model Shop team who can advise based on your vehicle setup.
- Can this replace a Trinity 18T/2 motor? — Yes, the 19T Sport Tuned should work well as a replacement for an 18T/2 motor and will provide a good balance between speed and endurance. Users have reported success using this motor as a direct replacement in classic restored vehicles like the Cougar 2, particularly when paired with appropriate ESCs like the Etronix Probe range.
- Is this suitable for 2WD buggies like the Tamiya DT03? — Yes, the Sport Tuned Modified 19T should work well in a 2WD buggy like the Tamiya DT03. It will deliver noticeably higher RPM than the standard Tamiya Sport Tuned motor, making it an excellent choice if you want more speed while maintaining reasonable control and responsiveness.
- What makes this motor different from the stock version? — The Sport Tuned Modified is engineered specifically as an upgrade over stock motors. Key differences include the higher-quality ball bearings for smoother running, the rebuildable can and endbell design for serviceability, and the replaceable brushes and springs that extend motor life. The winding is also optimised for performance, delivering noticeably better acceleration and top speed compared to standard stock motors.
