Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 40 WT is an essential maintenance product for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK. Whether you're running an RC car, truck, buggy, or crawler, proper shock absorber maintenance is critical to maintaining consistent handling and performance. This 150ml bottle of premium silicone shock oil is specifically formulated to provide reliable damping characteristics that keep your suspension working exactly as your chassis was tuned. Corally's ultra-pure silicone formula ensures that your shock absorbers deliver predictable performance lap after lap, whether you're enjoying casual weekend bashing or competitive racing.

Shock oil viscosity is one of the most important tuning parameters in RC vehicles. The 40 WT rating indicates a medium viscosity that works well across a wide range of conditions and vehicle types. This makes the Corally 40 WT an excellent all-purpose choice for RC enthusiasts who want a single shock oil that performs reliably without needing to swap between multiple viscosity grades. The 150ml bottle size provides enough fluid to service multiple vehicles or to perform several shock rebuilds and adjustments throughout the racing season.

Quality shock oil is fundamental to maintaining your RC investment. Over time, shock fluid can degrade, lose its viscosity consistency, or become contaminated with dirt and debris. Regular maintenance with fresh, high-quality shock oil like this Corally product ensures your suspension geometry remains true, your handling stays predictable, and your damping performance matches your expectations. For anyone serious about RC performance in the UK market, having a reliable supply of professional-grade shock oil in your workshop is non-negotiable.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which means it maintains consistent viscosity over time and across varying temperatures, ensuring your shock absorbers perform predictably in both summer racing and winter months in the UK.
  • 40 WT Viscosity Grade — The 40 weight rating provides a balanced damping medium that works across diverse RC vehicle types and driving conditions, making it suitable for buggy racing, truck bashing, crawler crawling, and general RC car maintenance without requiring multiple different viscosity grades.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — This convenient 150ml container provides ample volume for multiple shock rebuilds, top-ups, and adjustments, making it ideal for both club racers maintaining a fleet of vehicles and hobbyists looking after a single competition rig.
  • Professional Workshop Standard — Corally's shock oil meets the quality standards expected by professional RC mechanics and competitive racers, giving you confidence that you're using the same maintenance products as top-level competitors.
  • Long Shelf Life — Pure silicone shock oil resists degradation and maintains its properties when stored properly, meaning your bottle will remain effective whether you use it immediately or keep it as a workshop backup.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 40 WT delivers consistent damping performance that directly impacts your RC vehicle's handling characteristics. At 40 weight, this viscosity provides smooth, predictable shock absorption that prevents your suspension from becoming too stiff or too soft. The ultra-pure silicone composition ensures the oil doesn't break down or lose viscosity consistency during use, which is critical because even small changes in shock fluid viscosity can noticeably alter your vehicle's cornering behaviour, ride height consistency, and overall handling balance. Whether you're tuning a 1/10-scale buggy for tight track corners, setting up a short course truck for high-speed bashing, or dialling in a rock crawler for technical obstacles, having reliable shock oil with consistent performance is essential. The 150ml capacity allows for thorough shock servicing, meaning you can completely drain old or contaminated fluid and refill with fresh oil, which is the best practice for maintaining optimal suspension performance. This product is designed for workshop use and is best applied during scheduled shock maintenance when you're rebuilding seals, checking shock internals, or simply refreshing your suspension system.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is shock oil viscosity and why does the 40 WT rating matter? — Shock oil viscosity determines how quickly the fluid moves through the shock absorber's internal valving, which controls how fast your suspension compresses and rebounds. A 40 WT oil is medium-thickness, making it an excellent general-purpose choice that works well for most RC vehicles. If you find your suspension too soft (bouncy), you might increase to a higher viscosity; if it's too stiff, you'd drop to a lower viscosity. The 40 WT is the sweet spot for most RC car enthusiasts in the UK.
  • How often should I change my RC shock oil? — It depends on how frequently you use your vehicle. Weekend bashers might change shock oil every few months, while competitive racers might service shocks after every few race days. You'll know it's time when the oil appears discoloured, contaminated with dirt, or when your suspension feels less responsive than usual. Keeping a 150ml bottle on hand means you're always ready to perform maintenance.
  • Is Corally shock oil suitable for all RC vehicle types? — Yes, the 40 WT viscosity works across the full range of RC vehicles including 1/10-scale buggies, monster trucks, short course trucks, crawlers, and on-road touring cars. Different vehicles might benefit from different viscosity grades for competition tuning, but 40 WT is an excellent universal choice that delivers reliable performance across the board.
  • What is the difference between this ultra-pure silicone oil and standard shock oils? — Ultra-pure silicone means this product contains 100% pure silicone without fillers or additives. This ensures consistent viscosity stability, longer storage life, and more predictable damping characteristics. Pure silicone oils are the professional standard in RC racing because they maintain their properties reliably, whereas lower-quality oils can degrade, separate, or lose viscosity over time.
  • How do I apply shock oil during maintenance? — When rebuilding shocks, you drain the old oil completely, clean the internals if needed, and refill with fresh oil to the proper level. The exact procedure depends on your shock absorber design, so always consult your vehicle's manual. The 150ml bottle provides enough fluid for complete servicing and has room for multiple shock adjustments and top-ups.
