Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 35 WT is an essential maintenance fluid for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy, truggy, or monster truck, maintaining your suspension system with premium-quality shock oil is critical to achieving consistent handling and optimal damping characteristics. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone oil represents the gold standard in suspension fluid technology, engineered specifically for RC cars that require reliable, predictable shock performance in both competitive racing and recreational bashing scenarios.
Shock absorbers are among the most critical components of any RC car's chassis setup. The fluid inside them directly affects how your vehicle handles bumps, jumps, and cornering forces. Using low-quality or contaminated shock oil can lead to inconsistent damping, poor handling, and premature wear of internal shock components. Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone formula eliminates these variables by providing consistent viscosity and purity, ensuring your shocks respond exactly as designed every single time you hit the track or take your RC car out to bash.
For RC hobbyists in the UK looking to upgrade or refresh their suspension fluid, this Corally shock oil represents an investment in reliability and performance. Available from RC Model Shop, your trusted UK RC retailer, this product is perfect for maintaining your existing fleet or preparing a new build for competition.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — The 100% pure silicone oil formulation eliminates contamination and ensures consistent damping performance across all driving conditions, which is essential for maintaining predictable handling characteristics whether you're racing competitively or enjoying casual RC car fun.
- 35 WT Viscosity Grade — The 35 weight rating provides medium damping suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles and driving styles, making this an excellent general-purpose shock oil that works effectively for both buggy suspension tuning and heavier monster truck applications.
- Generous 150ml Bottle Size — The 150ml capacity provides enough fluid to service multiple shock absorbers or to have spare oil on hand for regular maintenance, ensuring you always have shock fluid available without the need for frequent reordering.
- Consistent Viscosity Marking — The clearly marked WT grade ensures you know exactly what viscosity you're using, making it simple to maintain consistency across your RC car setup and allowing you to accurately tune shock performance through fluid selection.
- Professional-Grade Quality — Corally's reputation in the RC hobby community is built on quality components and consumables, and this shock oil maintains that standard with a formula trusted by RC enthusiasts and competitors across Europe and the UK.
- Easy Bottle Design — The 150ml bottle is designed for practical application, allowing you to refill your shock absorbers cleanly and efficiently without wastage, which is important when working with precision RC suspension systems.
Technical Performance
Shock oil viscosity is one of the most important variables in RC suspension tuning, and the 35 WT rating of this Corally formula sits in the sweet spot for general-purpose use across most RC car scales and styles. The viscosity directly affects how quickly the shock damper responds to bumps and compressions, influencing everything from comfort during high-speed runs to precision handling during tight cornering. The ultra-pure silicone construction means there are no contaminants or impurities that could clog damper ports or create inconsistent behaviour. This consistency matters especially in competitive RC racing, where even small variations in damping can affect lap times. For RC bashers who simply want reliable performance without overthinking suspension tuning, the 35 WT viscosity provides a balanced setup that works well with most shock designs. The 150ml bottle format is practical for UK RC hobbyists who maintain multiple vehicles, as it provides sufficient quantity to service several shocks or to keep on the workshop shelf for regular maintenance sessions. The product conforms to professional standards and is backed by comprehensive safety documentation, indicating Corally's commitment to quality across their entire consumables range.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is shock oil and why do I need to replace it in my RC car? — Shock oil is the hydraulic fluid inside your RC car's shock absorbers that provides damping and suspension control. Over time, shock oil can become contaminated with dirt, metal particles from internal wear, or moisture, which degrades damping performance. Regularly replacing shock fluid with fresh, pure oil like this Corally product ensures your suspension maintains consistent performance and protects internal shock components from damage caused by contaminated fluid.
- What does the 35 WT viscosity rating mean? — WT stands for weight, and the number indicates the oil's thickness or viscosity. A 35 WT oil is medium-weight, providing moderate damping suitable for most RC cars. Lighter oils (like 25 WT) allow faster damper movement and softer suspension, while heavier oils (like 50 WT) create stiffer damping. The 35 WT is an excellent starting point for most RC enthusiasts and works well for buggies, truggies, and monster trucks across different driving styles.
- How much shock oil do I need for my RC car? — The amount varies depending on your specific shock design and damper size, but a typical shock absorber holds between 3-8ml of fluid. This 150ml bottle contains enough to service approximately 20-50 shocks depending on their size, making it excellent value for UK RC hobbyists who maintain multiple vehicles or want spare fluid on the workshop shelf.
- Is this suitable for all RC car types? — The 35 WT viscosity works well with most common RC cars including buggies, truggies, short course trucks, and monster trucks. However, if you run ultra-light carpet racing buggies, you might prefer lighter oil like 25 WT for faster suspension response, whilst heavier bashers might benefit from 50 WT for increased damping. Check your vehicle manual or manufacturer recommendations for the suggested viscosity range.
- How do I know if my shock oil needs replacing? — If your shocks feel inconsistent, your car handles unpredictably, or you notice your shock dampers moving too quickly or too slowly, it's time to refresh your oil. Additionally, if you've had a crash where water or mud entered a shock, you should drain and replace the oil immediately to prevent internal damage.
- What makes Corally shock oil different from cheaper alternatives? — Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone formula contains 100% pure silicone with no contaminants, ensuring consistent damping and protecting your shock internals. Cheaper oils may contain impurities or inconsistent viscosity that leads to unpredictable handling. Investing in quality shock oil directly impacts your RC car's performance and the longevity of expensive suspension components.
- Can I mix different brands or viscosities of shock oil? — It's best to use a single brand and viscosity throughout your shocks for consistent performance. Mixing different brands or weights can create unpredictable damping characteristics and makes it difficult to dial in your suspension setup accurately.
