The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 850 CPS is a premium suspension fluid engineered for RC enthusiasts who demand precision performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy, a high-speed RC car, or any RC vehicle with adjustable suspension, this ultra-pure silicone oil is the gold standard for tuning and maintaining consistent damping characteristics. RC model racers and serious hobbyists across the UK trust silicone shock oils to fine-tune their vehicle's handling, and this 150ml bottle of 850 cSt fluid represents the perfect viscosity for a wide range of driving conditions and suspension setups.
What sets this Corally product apart is its commitment to purity and consistency. The 850 cSt viscosity rating (measured in centistokes) sits in the sweet spot for many RC applications—thick enough to provide reliable damping without being so heavy that it becomes sluggish in cold British weather, yet stable enough to maintain performance through sustained racing sessions. This is 100% pure silicone oil with no additives or contaminants that could affect your shock performance or degrade over time. For RC car UK enthusiasts looking to upgrade their suspension tuning, this is a product that delivers measurable results.
The 150ml bottle format is ideal for multiple shock changes, component cleaning, and experimentation with different viscosity grades. Whether you're preparing your RC vehicle for track racing, weekend bashing, or competitive events, having a reliable supply of premium shock oil is essential maintenance for any serious RC hobbyist.

Technical Performance
The 850 cSt viscosity grade is a critical specification for RC suspension performance. Centistokes (cSt) measure the oil's resistance to flow at a standardised temperature—higher numbers mean thicker, more viscous oil. At 850 cSt, this Corally product sits in the medium range, making it suitable for diverse driving scenarios. In warmer conditions or on smooth tracks, this viscosity provides excellent damping response without creating dead spots in suspension travel. In cooler British weather, the oil maintains its viscosity characteristics better than some lighter grades, though it remains fluid enough for rapid suspension movement during cornering and acceleration. The ultra-pure silicone formulation means there are no suspended particles or additives that could settle out, separate, or cause inconsistent performance over time. This is engineering-grade shock oil designed for serious RC competitors and dedicated hobbyists who understand that suspension tuning is where races are won and lost. The oil works in conjunction with your shock absorber's internal design—springs, piston size, and valving all interact with the oil viscosity to determine your vehicle's handling balance. Having premium, consistent shock oil like this ensures that your suspension tuning adjustments remain predictable and repeatable across multiple racing events.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is shock oil viscosity and why does it matter for RC cars? — Shock oil viscosity, measured in centistokes (cSt), determines how quickly the oil flows through your shock absorber's piston and valving system. Thicker oil (higher cSt numbers) creates more damping resistance, which slows suspension movement and makes the vehicle feel more planted and stable—particularly useful on smooth tracks or at high speeds. Thinner oil (lower cSt numbers) allows faster suspension movement, providing more responsive handling on rough terrain or in tight technical sections. The 850 cSt grade in this product is a versatile middle ground that works well for most UK RC racing conditions and casual driving. By experimenting with different viscosity grades, you can dial in your RC vehicle's handling to match your driving style and track conditions.
- Is 850 cSt the right viscosity for my RC vehicle? — The 850 cSt viscosity is a popular mid-range choice suitable for 1/10 scale RC buggies, touring cars, and general-purpose RC vehicles. However, the ideal viscosity depends on your specific vehicle design, shock absorber internals, driving style, and track conditions. Many RC racers stock multiple viscosity grades to compare performance. If you're unsure whether 850 cSt is right for your setup, consult your vehicle's manual or speak with experienced RC enthusiasts in the UK RC community. This product is ideal for those already familiar with shock oil tuning or as a starting point for newcomers to suspension adjustments.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — Shock oil should be refreshed whenever you notice inconsistent damping performance, after heavy use (weekend bashing or competition racing), or if you're changing viscosity grades to experiment with different handling setups. Some RC racers change their shock oil before every major race to ensure consistent, predictable performance. The 150ml bottle size in this product allows you to perform multiple shock service cycles, so you can maintain your vehicles properly without waste.
- What does 100% pure silicone mean, and why is it better? — Pure silicone oil contains only silicone with no additives, mineral oils, or other compounds that might affect performance or degrade over time. Some cheaper shock oils use mineral oil bases or include additives that can separate, evaporate, or interact unpredictably with shock seal materials. The 100% pure silicone formulation in this Corally product is more stable, more consistent, and more reliable for precision suspension tuning. It's the choice of serious RC racers who demand predictable, repeatable performance.
- Can I use this shock oil in any RC vehicle? — This shock oil is compatible with any RC vehicle that uses standard shock absorbers with removable or refillable chambers—which includes most 1/10 scale RC buggies, touring cars, truck platforms, and crawlers. However, some sealed shock designs cannot be refilled. Check your vehicle's manual to confirm that your shocks are user-serviceable before attempting to refill them. Once you've confirmed compatibility, this universal shock oil works across multiple brands and designs.
- What is the difference between this 850 cSt oil and other viscosity grades? — Corally (and other premium manufacturers) offer shock oil in multiple viscosity grades—typically ranging from 400 cSt (very light) to 1500 cSt (very heavy) or beyond. The 850 cSt grade sits comfortably in the middle, providing balanced damping for general-purpose use. Lighter grades (400-600 cSt) create less resistance and allow faster suspension movement, ideal for technical, rough tracks or aggressive driving styles. Heavier grades (1000+ cSt) create more resistance and a more stable, planted feel, ideal for smooth tracks or drivers who prefer predictable, controlled handling. This 850 cSt product is a versatile starting point for most RC enthusiasts.
- How should I store shock oil to maintain quality? — Store this shock oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. The sealed 150ml bottle is designed to prevent oxidation and contamination during storage. Keep the cap tightly sealed when not in use. Under proper storage conditions, quality silicone shock oil maintains its properties for extended periods, making it an excellent pantry item for regular RC maintenance.
- Is this suitable for beginners to RC? — This shock oil is most useful for RC enthusiasts who are actively tuning and maintaining their shock absorbers. Beginners with ready-to-run RC vehicles may not immediately need to change shock oil, as most RTR models come pre-filled. However, as you progress in the hobby and begin experimenting with suspension tuning—one of the most effective ways to improve your RC vehicle's handling—this product becomes essential. It's worth adding to your RC toolkit if you plan to get serious about track days or competitive racing.
