Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 400 CPS is a premium maintenance product designed for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand the best performance from their shock absorbers. This 150ml bottle of 100% pure silicone oil is specifically formulated to provide consistent damping characteristics and smooth suspension response in your RC vehicle, whether you're running a competitive race setup or enjoying weekend bashing. If you're serious about fine-tuning your RC car's handling and want reliable, high-quality shock fluid that won't let you down, this is exactly what you need in your workshop.
Shock oils are one of the most critical yet often overlooked maintenance items in RC car tuning. The viscosity of your shock oil directly affects how your suspension responds to bumps, jumps and cornering forces. Using the correct viscosity for your driving style and track conditions can make the difference between a perfectly balanced chassis and unpredictable handling. This Corally shock oil is manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring every 150ml bottle meets the same high specification so you can trust consistency across your fleet of RC cars, whether you're running 1/10 scale buggies, trucks or touring cars.
Whether you're a seasoned RC racer looking to dial in your suspension geometry, a serious hobbyist who maintains their own equipment, or someone who takes pride in keeping their RC collection in pristine condition, ultra-pure silicone shock oil is an essential consumable. This Corally product offers genuine quality at a competitive price point, making it the smart choice for UK RC enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on maintenance standards.
Key Features
- 100% Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from ultra-pure silicone, which means it contains no adulterants, contaminants or fillers that could affect performance or damage your delicate shock internals, ensuring maximum longevity of your shock absorber components.
- 400 cSt Viscosity Rating — The 400 centistoke viscosity provides a medium-weight damping characteristic suitable for general all-round driving, track racing and bashful off-road use, making it one of the most versatile shock oil viscosities available for RC vehicles.
- Consistent Performance Across Temperature Range — Ultra-pure silicone oils maintain their viscosity characteristics across a wider temperature range than inferior alternatives, meaning your suspension will perform predictably whether you're driving in cold British winters or during warmer summer track days.
- 150ml Bottle Size — The convenient 150ml bottle provides enough shock oil to service multiple shocks or to keep topped up throughout a racing season, with enough volume for both initial fills and ongoing maintenance without excessive waste.
- Trusted Brand Heritage — Corally is a recognised manufacturer of premium RC maintenance products and consumables, with a reputation built on quality and consistency that RC enthusiasts across the UK trust for their setups.
Technical Performance
Shock oil viscosity is measured in centistokes (cSt), a unit that describes the thickness or flow resistance of the fluid at a standardised temperature. The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone rates at 400 cSt, which places it in the medium-viscosity range ideal for general RC car use. At 400 cSt, this oil provides sufficient damping to absorb impacts and control suspension movement without being so thick that it restricts smooth operation or creates excessive resistance in the shock cylinder. The ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures there are no contaminants that might compromise shock seal integrity or leave residues that could affect damping characteristics over time. This consistency makes it suitable across a wide range of RC vehicles — from 1/10 scale touring cars and buggies to larger platforms — and it performs reliably whether you're running stock setups or highly tuned competition-grade suspension geometry. The 150ml volume is sufficient for servicing four or five complete shock sets, depending on shock size, making it economical for regular maintenance or seasonal shock rebuilds that responsible RC car owners perform to keep their vehicles running smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity shock oil do I need for my RC car? — The viscosity you choose depends on your driving style, track conditions and suspension setup. The 400 cSt rating of this Corally oil is a popular all-round choice that works well for most RC cars. If you want softer suspension response and more compliance over bumpy terrain, consider lighter oils (lower cSt numbers). If you want stiffer, more controlled damping for high-speed racing, heavier oils (higher cSt numbers) are better. Many RC enthusiasts keep multiple viscosities on hand to fine-tune their setups for different conditions.
- Is this shock oil suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whether you're new to RC or an experienced racer, maintaining your shocks with quality oil is important. The 400 cSt viscosity is forgiving and works well across a range of driving styles, making it an excellent choice if you're not yet sure what viscosity suits your particular vehicle and driving preference. As you gain experience, you'll learn whether you prefer lighter or heavier oils, but this is a safe, reliable starting point.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — This depends on how frequently you drive and the conditions you run in. For regular weekend bashers and casual drivers, shock servicing once per season is typical. For competitive racers running multiple events, shock maintenance every two to three months or even more frequently is common practice. Check your shock manufacturer's recommendations for your specific model.
- What size shocks does this work with? — The 150ml bottle of shock oil is compatible with all standard shock absorber sizes used in RC cars, from small 1/10 scale shocks through to larger 1/8 scale units. The volume is sufficient for multiple servicing cycles across a typical RC collection.
- Is pure silicone better than other shock oil types? — Pure silicone oils offer several advantages including better temperature stability, superior compatibility with rubber seals, and more consistent performance across varying conditions. They're the industry standard for serious RC enthusiasts and professional racers because they deliver reliable, predictable damping characteristics without the degradation or contamination issues sometimes seen with lower-grade alternatives.
- How should I store shock oil? — Keep your shock oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The sealed 150ml bottle is designed to maintain purity and prevent contamination. Always ensure the cap is tightly closed after use to prevent dust or moisture entering the fluid, which could compromise your shocks when you service them.
