Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 150 CPS is an essential maintenance product for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're running a competitive RC car, a weekend basher, or a serious track machine, maintaining your suspension with premium silicone shock oil is fundamental to consistent handling and longevity. This 150ml bottle of ultra-pure silicone oil is specifically formulated to the ISO 150 CPS viscosity standard, making it the perfect choice for tuning and maintaining shock absorbers on a wide range of RC vehicles including buggies, truggies, monster trucks and short course trucks.
Shock oil is one of the most critical consumables in RC car maintenance. Over time, shock oils break down through use, temperature cycling, and exposure to dirt and moisture. Regular replacement ensures your suspension remains responsive, predictable and performs at its peak. The Corally brand is recognised throughout the RC community as a trusted manufacturer of high-quality maintenance products and upgrades. This ultra-pure formulation delivers consistent viscosity characteristics that won't thin out under heat or thicken in cold conditions, giving you reliable suspension behaviour whether you're racing indoors, bashing at the local RC track or competing in national championships across the UK.
If you're serious about your RC car performance, shock oil maintenance should never be overlooked. The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 150 CPS comes in a convenient 150ml bottle that provides enough fluid for multiple shock refills, making it economical for regular maintenance. This is the ideal product for competitive RC enthusiasts, racing teams, and anyone who wants to maintain their suspension in factory-fresh condition.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formula — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, which means it won't break down, separate or degrade as quickly as lower-quality alternatives, ensuring consistent performance throughout the life of the product and better longevity for your shock absorbers.
- ISO 150 CPS Viscosity Rating — The 150 CPS (centistoke) specification represents a medium viscosity grade that works perfectly for standard shock absorber applications, providing the right balance of damping resistance without being too stiff or too soft for most RC vehicles.
- Convenient 150ml Bottle Size — The 150ml capacity is perfectly sized for RC hobbyists, offering enough volume for multiple shock refills without excessive waste, and the bottle design makes it easy to dispense precisely into shock bodies without spillage.
- Consistent Viscosity Characteristics — Pure silicone oil maintains stable viscosity across a wide temperature range, meaning your shocks will behave predictably whether you're racing in summer heat or winter conditions, which is essential for competitive performance.
- Authorised Corally Product — This is genuine Corally shock oil supplied by authorised UK retailers, guaranteeing you receive an authentic product with the correct specifications rather than counterfeit or mislabelled alternatives that could damage your suspension.
- Professional Maintenance Standard — Used by RC racing teams and serious competitors throughout Europe, this shock oil represents the professional standard for suspension maintenance, ensuring your RC car receives the same level of care as competition machines.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 150 CPS is engineered to meet exacting standards for RC shock absorber maintenance. At 150 cSt (centistokes) viscosity, this oil provides optimal damping characteristics for most modern RC car designs, from high-performance buggies to monster trucks and everything in between. The ultra-pure silicone formulation ensures that the oil won't separate into lighter and heavier components during use, maintaining consistent viscosity throughout the entire service life. This stability is critical because inconsistent shock oil viscosity directly impacts your vehicle's handling characteristics, causing unpredictable behaviour changes as the oil ages. The 100% pure silicone composition also resists oxidation and thermal breakdown far better than mineral-based alternatives, meaning the oil remains effective for longer between changes. Professional RC teams choose silicone shock oils like this because the consistent performance translates directly into more predictable lap times and easier tuning adjustments. Temperature stability is another significant advantage — the silicone formulation won't thin excessively when hot or thicken problematically when cold, giving you the same suspension behaviour whether you're racing on a warm summer afternoon at your local track or during indoor winter club meetings. The 150ml bottle format is carefully chosen to suit the typical needs of RC enthusiasts, offering enough product for multiple shock refills (most standard RC shocks hold between 15-25ml of oil) whilst remaining practical and economical.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity should I use for my RC car shocks? — The viscosity you choose depends on your specific vehicle and track conditions. The 150 CPS grade supplied here is a medium viscosity that works well for most standard RC cars. Lighter oils (100 CPS) make shocks feel softer and more responsive, whilst heavier oils (200+ CPS) provide stiffer damping. Many competitors keep multiple viscosity grades on hand and adjust their shock oil between races to fine-tune handling for different track surfaces and weather conditions.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — For regular recreational use, shock oil should be replaced every 3-6 months or after 10-15 hours of running time. For competitive racing, many teams change their shock oil every race or every few races to ensure consistent performance. High temperatures, dusty conditions and extended running sessions all speed up oil degradation, so adjust your replacement schedule accordingly.
- Why does my shock oil look discoloured or cloudy? — Discolouration typically indicates that moisture or dirt has contaminated the shock oil, which degradation the damping performance. This happens when shock seals wear out or when the vehicle is driven in wet conditions without adequate sealing. If your oil appears cloudy or discoloured, it's time to flush out the old oil completely and refill with fresh silicone oil like this Corally product.
- Is Corally shock oil suitable for all RC vehicles? — Yes, this ultra-pure silicone shock oil works with all standard RC car shock absorbers, including those on buggies, truggies, monster trucks, short course trucks and crawlers. The 150 CPS grade is particularly well-suited to general-purpose vehicles, though some specialised crawlers or ultra-high-performance racing machines might prefer lighter or heavier viscosity grades.
- Can I mix different brands of shock oil? — Whilst mixing silicone oils from different manufacturers won't cause damage, it can compromise the consistency of your suspension tuning because each manufacturer's formulation may have slightly different viscosity characteristics. It's best practice to use a single brand consistently to maintain predictable performance.
- How do I properly refill my shock absorbers? — Most RC shocks have a small filler cap at the top. Remove the cap, use a small syringe or shock oil bottle to carefully add oil until the shock is full (the oil level should reach close to the cap opening), then reinstall the cap securely. Some newer shock designs have different refill methods, so consult your vehicle's manual. Avoid overfilling as excess oil can leak from the shock seals.
- What is the difference between silicone and mineral shock oils? — Silicone oil, like this Corally product, offers superior thermal stability, resists oxidation far better than mineral oil, and maintains consistent viscosity across a wider temperature range. Mineral oils are cheaper but degrade more quickly and can separate into different viscosity layers during storage. For serious RC enthusiasts in the UK who want the best performance and longest service life, silicone oil is always the superior choice.
