Key Features
- Hardened Steel Construction — The pinion is manufactured from special hardened steel that provides exceptional toughness and durability, resisting wear and tooth damage even under demanding driving conditions and high-speed operation. This material choice ensures your pinion will maintain perfect tooth geometry through countless hours of driving.
- CNC-Cut Teeth for Perfect Geometry — Each tooth is precisely cut using computer numerical control machinery, creating perfect tooth shaping and ensuring ultra-precise concentricity. This manufacturing excellence means zero runout and vibration-free operation, translating to smoother acceleration, more efficient power transmission, and a quieter RC drivetrain.
- Module M0.6 Specification — This pinion uses the M0.6 module standard, making it compatible with all RC cars designed for M0.6 gears, particularly Tamiya RC vehicle kits. This universal compatibility means you can easily upgrade or replace the pinion on your existing RC setup without requiring adapter gears or modifications.
- 20-Tooth Configuration — The 20-tooth design provides an excellent gear ratio for balanced performance across various track conditions. This tooth count is ideal for RC drivers seeking a sweet spot between acceleration and top speed, making it suitable for both street and off-road RC racing.
- 3.17mm Motor Shaft Diameter — The pinion is precisely engineered to fit 3.17mm diameter motor shafts, which is the standard specification for most brushed and brushless RC motors. This ensures a secure, wobble-free fit on your RC car's motor.
- Compact Short Profile — The pinion features a short design with a gear length of just 9mm, keeping your RC drivetrain compact and lightweight whilst maintaining full contact with the spur gear. This design minimises parasitic drag and reduces unsprung weight in your RC car's transmission.
- Tooth Number Identification — Each pinion is clearly marked with the tooth number, allowing for quick and easy identification when you're setting up your RC car or changing gear ratios. This simple but useful feature prevents confusion and ensures you always have the correct pinion installed.
- 4mm Teeth Width — The pinion features a generous 4mm teeth width, providing adequate contact surface with the spur gear for reliable power transmission without excessive friction or heat generation during RC car operation.
- 1.5mm Hex Key Compatibility — Installation and removal of the pinion is straightforward using a standard 1.5mm hex key, making maintenance and gear ratio changes quick and accessible for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels.
- Made in Europe — Manufactured in Europe to exacting quality standards, this pinion represents European engineering excellence and commitment to quality control, giving you confidence in the product's authenticity and performance reliability.
Technical Performance
The Corally M0.6 Pinion Short Hardened Steel 20 Teeth delivers exceptional technical performance through meticulous engineering and material selection. The special hardened steel construction provides superior wear resistance compared to standard pinions, ensuring longevity even in competitive RC racing environments where repeated high-stress drivetrain operation is commonplace. The CNC manufacturing process creates teeth with perfect involute geometry and concentricity, eliminating runout that would otherwise cause vibration, power loss, and premature wear in your RC car's transmission. With a shaft diameter of 3.17mm, this pinion integrates seamlessly with standard RC motor specifications used across most modern brushless and brushed motor platforms. The compact 9mm gear length and 4mm tooth width represent an optimised balance between strength and weight, ensuring that your RC car's drivetrain remains lightweight and responsive whilst delivering reliable power transmission. The M0.6 module specification guarantees perfect meshing with M0.6 spur gears, maintaining precise gear mesh clearances that are critical for smooth, efficient operation. Whether you're upgrading a Tamiya RC kit, fine-tuning a competition RC buggy, or maintaining your RC car's drivetrain, this pinion delivers the precision and reliability that serious RC car enthusiasts demand. The 20-tooth configuration provides versatility across varied track layouts and driving conditions, making this an intelligent choice for RC drivers who value adaptability and performance consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this Corally pinion compatible with my RC car? — The Corally M0.6 Pinion is designed for any RC car equipped with M0.6 module gears, particularly Tamiya RC kits and compatible vehicles. If your RC car uses M0.6 gears and has a brushless or brushed motor with a 3.17mm shaft diameter, this pinion will fit perfectly. Check your RC car's specifications or owner's manual to confirm M0.6 compatibility before ordering.
- Why should I choose hardened steel over other pinion materials? — Hardened steel pinions offer superior durability and wear resistance compared to standard steel or aluminium alternatives. The special hardened steel used in this Corally pinion maintains its tooth geometry through extended use, making it ideal for competitive RC racing, high-performance driving, and demanding conditions where reliability is paramount. You'll experience fewer tooth breakages and longer component lifespan with hardened steel construction.
- What is the difference between the M0.6 module and other pinion specifications? — The module (M0.6) refers to the tooth pitch and spacing of the gear, determining how the pinion meshes with your RC car's spur gear. M0.6 is the standard specification for Tamiya RC kits and many other RC platforms. Using the correct module ensures proper gear mesh clearance, smooth operation, and efficient power transmission. Using an incompatible module would result in poor mesh contact, vibration, and drivetrain damage.
- What does the 20-tooth count mean for my RC car's performance? — The tooth count directly affects your RC car's gear ratio. A 20-tooth pinion creates a specific ratio with your spur gear that influences acceleration and top speed characteristics. The 20-tooth configuration offers a balanced approach suitable for varied driving conditions. If you want more acceleration, you'd use a lower tooth count (smaller pinion); for higher top speed, you'd use a higher tooth count (larger pinion). Consulting your RC car's manual will recommend the optimal tooth count for your specific model and driving preferences.
- Is this pinion suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. The Corally M0.6 Pinion is suitable for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels, from beginners just discovering the world of RC cars to seasoned competitors. Installation is straightforward using a simple 1.5mm hex key, and the pinion works as a drop-in replacement on compatible RC platforms. Beginners will appreciate the quality and reliability, whilst experienced RC drivers will value the precision engineering and performance consistency.
- How often will I need to replace this pinion? — The hardened steel construction and precision manufacturing mean this Corally pinion will last considerably longer than standard pinions under normal usage. With proper maintenance—cleaning the drivetrain and ensuring adequate lubrication—this pinion should provide years of reliable service. Replacement becomes necessary only if tooth damage occurs from impacts, crashes, or extreme performance driving. Having a spare pinion on hand is always a sensible precaution for competitive RC racers.
- What is the significance of CNC-cut teeth? — CNC (computer numerical control) cutting creates perfect tooth geometry with consistent involute shapes across every tooth. This precision manufacturing eliminates the micro-variations present in manually-cut or cast gears, resulting in smoother meshing, reduced vibration, improved power transmission efficiency, and quieter operation. For RC car performance, this translates to better acceleration response, smoother power delivery, and longer component lifespan.
