Overview
The Corally Pro Tool Hex Tips TiNi Coated set (model C-16180) is an essential accessory for serious RC enthusiasts and competitors who demand precision and durability from their tools. This professional-grade hex tip set comprises four versatile hex keys in the most commonly used sizes for RC car maintenance and assembly: 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm. Whether you're building a competition-level 1/10 pan car, maintaining a 1/10 touring car, or working on any RC buggy or trucker in your collection, these hex tips deliver the reliability and quality you need. RC car UK hobbyists and professionals alike trust Corally components for their engineering excellence and attention to detail.
What sets these hex tips apart from standard tools is the TiNi (Titanium-Nickel) coating applied to each tip. This advanced surface treatment dramatically extends the lifespan of the tools by reducing wear, preventing corrosion, and maintaining precise fitment in hex socket fasteners. When you're working with premium RC models that cost hundreds of pounds, using quality tools isn't just about convenience—it's about protecting your investment. The TiNi coating ensures that your hex tips remain sharp and true, providing consistent engagement with fasteners without slipping, stripping, or damaging the delicate fastener heads on your RC car components.
These professional-grade hex tips are designed for use with power tools, making them ideal for serious hobbyists and racing teams who need to assemble and disassemble RC cars quickly and efficiently between heats, practice sessions, or at the track. The precision engineering behind each tip ensures perfect fitment and reliable performance, whether you're working on brushless motors, suspension components, chassis adjustments, or electronic assemblies on your RC model.
Key Features
- TiNi Coating Technology — The Titanium-Nickel surface treatment provides exceptional hardness and corrosion resistance, which means your hex tips will maintain their precise shape and fitment far longer than standard tools, protecting your RC car fasteners from damage and ensuring consistent performance across hundreds of maintenance sessions.
- Four Essential Sizes Included — This set provides 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm hex tips, covering virtually every fastener size you'll encounter on modern RC cars, from servo adjustments to suspension components and electronic module mounting points.
- Power Tool Compatible — Designed for use with power tools and drills, these hex tips allow you to work faster and more efficiently, which is crucial when you're preparing vehicles for competition or maintaining multiple RC cars in your collection.
- Professional-Grade Engineering — Manufactured by Team Corally, a brand recognised throughout the RC racing community for uncompromising quality and precision, these tools represent the same attention to detail that goes into Corally's award-winning RC car components.
- Precision Fitment — Each tip is engineered to exact specifications, ensuring a perfect fit in fastener sockets without play or wobble, which prevents fastener stripping and damage to your RC car's precision components.
Technical Performance
The Corally Pro Tool Hex Tips represent a significant step up from budget tool options commonly found in general hardware stores. The TiNi coating is a specialised surface treatment that combines the hardness of titanium with the corrosion-resistant properties of nickel, creating a durable barrier that protects the underlying steel from wear and oxidation. This is particularly important in the RC hobby where fasteners are often made from softer materials like aluminium alloy, plastic-lined components, and precision-engineered metal housings that can be easily damaged by tools that aren't perfectly maintained. The 1.5mm size handles the smallest servo mounting fasteners and delicate electronic module screws. The 2.0mm size fits standard suspension turnbuckle adjusters and brake adjustment fasteners found on touring cars and pan cars. The 2.5mm size is the workhorse, used for shock tower mounting, motor pod fasteners, and main chassis assembly points on 1/10 scale RC buggies, trucker chassis, and competition vehicles. The 3.0mm size tackles larger mounting points, main gear adjusters, and structural fasteners on chassis components. The precision engineering ensures that each tip provides optimal contact with the fastener head, minimising the risk of stripping or deformation that could compromise vehicle integrity during racing or bashing.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these hex tips suitable for beginners building their first RC car? — Yes, absolutely. While these are professional-grade tools, beginners benefit enormously from using quality tools from the start. Proper tools with accurate fitment prevent the frustration of stripped fasteners and damaged components, making the assembly experience more enjoyable and ensuring your RC car is built correctly from the beginning.
- What does TiNi coating mean and why should I care? — TiNi is a Titanium-Nickel surface treatment that makes the hex tips harder, more durable, and resistant to corrosion. This means your tools will stay sharp and true for years of use, maintaining precise fitment in fastener sockets, which protects your RC car components from damage and ensures reliable performance.
- Can I use these hex tips with my cordless drill or impact driver? — Yes, these hex tips are designed for power tool use. However, when using power tools with RC cars, it's important to use low speed settings and be careful not to over-tighten fasteners, as RC components are often made from softer materials that can be damaged by excessive torque.
- What RC cars are these hex tips compatible with? — These sizes are universal across most modern RC cars, including 1/10 touring cars, 1/10 pan cars, 1/10 buggies (both 2WD and 4WD), and 1/10 trucker chassis. They're also compatible with various other RC scales and applications, making this a versatile addition to any RC toolkit.
- How long will these hex tips last compared to standard tools? — The TiNi coating significantly extends tool life compared to standard uncoated hex tips. You can expect many years of reliable use, with the coating maintaining its hardness and corrosion resistance through frequent use and storage in typical hobby shop and garage environments.
- Are these professional racing tools or hobbyist tools? — These are professional-grade tools designed for serious hobbyists, race teams, and competitors. They're manufactured to the same standards as tools used in professional RC racing competition, ensuring reliability when precision and durability matter most.
