Overview
The Corally Servo Saver Small 21 Spline for Novak NES-1-A is an essential upgrade component for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliability and protection for their servo systems. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 or 1/12 scale racing car, this composite servo saver set delivers intelligent protection that keeps your steering servo safe during hard crashes and intense racing conditions. Designed by Team Corally, a recognised name in precision RC components, this servo saver combines sophisticated engineering with practical durability to enhance your RC car's performance and longevity.
A servo saver is one of the most underrated yet critical components in any RC racing setup. Unlike fixed servo horn connections that transmit every impact directly to your servo mechanism, a properly engineered servo saver absorbs shock and distributes impact forces intelligently. This means your expensive Novak NES-1-A servo remains protected from the sudden jolts and extreme steering deflections that occur during high-speed racing, bashful driving, and competitive track action. The Corally Servo Saver Small is purpose-built for 1/10 and 1/12 racing cars, making it an ideal upgrade for users of RC buggy, RC truggy, and RC short course truck platforms that rely on precise steering and robust component protection.
Built from moulded composite materials, this servo saver set arrives pre-adjusted with a calibrated spring mechanism that strikes the perfect balance between strength and flexibility. The spring is engineered to be robust enough to prevent extreme steering deflection from impacts, yet flexible enough to prevent servo damage in hard crashes. This dual-purpose design means you get both the protective benefits of a servo saver and the responsive steering feel that competitive RC car drivers demand. If you're serious about protecting your investment in quality RC components whilst maintaining racing-grade performance, the Corally C-10112 is the smart choice.
Key Features
- Pre-adjusted Spring Mechanism — The servo saver arrives pre-tuned with a calibrated spring system, eliminating the need for time-consuming setup adjustments and ensuring optimal performance straight from the box, which is particularly valuable for RC enthusiasts who want to spend more time racing and less time tweaking components.
- Dual-Purpose Protection Design — Engineered to be strong enough to prevent extreme steering deflection from impacts during aggressive driving and competitive racing, yet flexible enough to absorb shock energy and protect your servo from damage during hard crashes and unexpected collisions.
- Moulded Composite Construction — Manufactured from high-quality moulded composite materials that offer an excellent balance of weight, strength and durability, ensuring reliable performance across numerous racing sessions and bashful driving scenarios.
- Compatible with Novak NES-1-A Servo — Specifically engineered to fit Novak NES-1-A servos featuring 21-tooth spline configuration, ensuring perfect mechanical compatibility and seamless integration with your existing servo system.
- Suitable for 1/10 and 1/12 Racing Cars — This servo saver is optimised for both 1/10 scale and 1/12 scale racing applications, making it versatile across various RC car platforms including buggies, truggies, short course trucks and stadium trucks popular in the UK RC community.
- Impact Absorption Technology — The integrated spring system actively absorbs shock energy during collisions and hard impacts, distributing force evenly rather than transmitting it directly to the servo shaft and internal gear mechanism.
Technical Performance
The Corally Servo Saver Small C-10112 represents a thoughtful engineering solution for RC car owners who understand that servo protection directly impacts overall chassis reliability and racing performance. The moulded composite construction provides the ideal material balance for servo savers—offering sufficient rigidity to maintain steering precision whilst incorporating enough compliance to absorb impact forces that would otherwise damage servo gearboxes. The pre-adjusted spring mechanism is the standout feature here; rather than shipping loose with ambiguous assembly instructions, Corally has carefully tuned the spring rate to suit the load characteristics of typical 1/10 and 1/12 scale racing cars. This means the servo saver will prevent extreme steering deflection when you hit jumps, concrete walls, or opponent RC cars at racing speed, yet it won't introduce mushy or delayed steering response that would compromise your driving experience. The 21-tooth spline compatibility with Novak NES-1-A servos ensures rock-solid mechanical connection—no play, no slippage, just responsive steering control. For competitive RC drivers running 1/10 scale buggies and short course trucks on UK tracks, or dedicated hobbyists who bash their RC cars hard, this component delivers measurable performance benefits by reducing servo replacement costs and extending the lifespan of quality servo units. The composite material selection also makes this servo saver lightweight compared to all-metal alternatives, which is crucial for maintaining chassis balance and steering response in racing configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a servo saver and why do I need one for my RC car UK? — A servo saver is a protective coupling device that sits between your servo and steering mechanism. It absorbs impact forces from crashes and hard steering deflections, protecting your expensive servo from damage. When your RC car hits a wall or jumps and lands hard, instead of that sudden jolt reaching your servo gearbox, the servo saver's spring mechanism absorbs and dissipates that energy. This is essential for competitive RC racing where crashes are frequent and servo replacement costs are significant.
- Is the Corally C-10112 compatible with my servo? — This servo saver is specifically designed for Novak NES-1-A servos with 21-tooth spline configuration. Before purchasing, verify that your Novak servo matches this specification. The 21T spline is the standard for many racing servos, but it's crucial to confirm compatibility before installation.
- Can I use this servo saver on both my 1/10 and 1/12 RC cars? — Yes, the Corally Servo Saver Small is explicitly suitable for both 1/10 and 1/12 scale racing cars, making it a versatile choice if you run multiple RC platforms. Whether you're racing a 1/10 buggy or 1/12 competition car, this component will provide appropriate protection and steering feel.
- How does the pre-adjusted spring improve my RC experience? — The pre-adjusted spring arrives calibrated and ready for installation, eliminating time-consuming setup and adjustment procedures. This means you can install the servo saver immediately and begin enjoying protected steering performance without needing to experiment with spring tensions or consult adjustment guides. It's a genuine convenience feature that respects your time.
- What makes moulded composite better than metal servo savers? — Moulded composite construction offers several advantages: it's lighter than metal alternatives which preserves your car's weight distribution and steering response, it provides excellent impact absorption through material compliance, and it's typically more cost-effective than precision-machined aluminium options. For racing applications, the composite material is often superior because it maintains steering precision whilst protecting your servo.
- Will this servo saver make my steering feel sloppy or unresponsive? — No. The pre-adjusted spring is engineered specifically to absorb impacts whilst maintaining crisp steering response. The spring is calibrated to be flexible enough to protect during crashes, but strong enough to prevent mushy steering feel during normal racing. You get protection without sacrificing the responsive handling characteristics that competitive drivers demand.
- Is the Corally Servo Saver suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Protecting your servo is important whether you're a beginner or competitive racer. The pre-adjusted design means beginners can install it and benefit immediately without needing to understand servo saver tuning. Experienced racers appreciate the engineering quality and proven protection.
