Overview
The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10B7 FT Aluminium Servo Weight Plate is a precision tuning component designed specifically for competitive RC car enthusiasts running the RC10B7 and RC10B7D platforms. Developed by Factory Team, Associated's factory racing division, this 6g weight plate represents the kind of detailed performance optimisation that separates winning setups from the rest of the field. Whether you're a serious racer looking to dial in the perfect front-end bias or an experienced hobbyist wanting to fine-tune your RC buggy's handling characteristics, this servo weight plate offers a direct fit solution that integrates seamlessly into your existing chassis. Available in the UK through RC Model Shop, this Factory Team component is part of a comprehensive tuning ecosystem that gives you the flexibility to dial in weight distribution exactly how you want it.
RC car tuning at the highest level is all about making incremental improvements that add up to a competitive advantage. The RC10B7 is already renowned as one of the most competitive 1/10 scale 2WD buggies on the market, but even champions benefit from fine-tuning their setup. This aluminium servo weight plate allows you to adjust the weight bias of your RC10B7 or RC10B7D without compromising the platform's core engineering. The lightweight construction keeps the overall mass down whilst concentrating weight precisely where it matters most for consistent performance and improved steering feel. By choosing the right weight configuration from Factory Team's range—which includes options at 4g, 6g, 9g, 16g and 26g—you can optimise your chassis balance for different track conditions, weather, surface grip levels, and driving styles.
Factory Team components are engineered with the same attention to detail and quality standards as the vehicles themselves. This 6g aluminium plate is a direct fit to the RC10B7 platform, meaning installation is straightforward and you can start testing the performance benefits immediately. For anyone serious about RC racing in the UK or simply wanting to get the absolute maximum out of their RC buggy, this is a precision tuning part that delivers tangible results on the track.

Technical Performance
The RC10B7 has earned its reputation as one of the finest 1/10 scale 2WD buggies available to UK racers and enthusiasts, and successful racers know that championship setups are built on a foundation of carefully considered component choices and precise tuning. The TEAM ASSOCIATED Factory Team Aluminium Servo Weight Plate represents the kind of engineering detail that matters in competitive racing. At 6 grams and manufactured from lightweight aluminium, this plate delivers measurable changes to weight bias and chassis balance without the penalty of excessive mass. The aluminium material choice is deliberate—it provides the necessary weight whilst remaining as light as possible, which means you maintain the RC10B7's renowned agility and responsiveness whilst benefiting from improved front-end feel and more predictable steering characteristics. The plate is designed to mount directly to your servo assembly, making it a functional component that becomes part of your vehicle's core tuning setup rather than an auxiliary add-on. The engineering tolerances and manufacturing standards reflect Factory Team's racing pedigree, ensuring that the plate fits perfectly and performs consistently across multiple uses. This is a precision component that will help you extract the maximum performance from your RC10B7 or RC10B7D, whether you're competing at regional or national level or simply aiming to improve your lap times and consistency on your local track.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a servo weight plate and why would I need one for my RC10B7? — A servo weight plate is a precision tuning component that allows you to adjust the weight distribution and front-end bias of your RC10B7 or RC10B7D. By adding controlled weight to the servo mounting area, you can fine-tune how your RC buggy's weight is distributed between front and rear, which directly affects steering feel, turn-in response, and overall handling characteristics. Different track conditions, surface grip levels, and driving styles all benefit from different weight configurations, making servo weight plates an essential tuning tool for serious racers.
- Is this suitable for beginners or only for experienced racers? — Whilst this is a Factory Team component designed with competition racing in mind, anyone who wants to experiment with chassis tuning can use it. However, it's most beneficial for drivers who have already gained experience with their RC10B7 and are looking to dial in their setup for specific conditions or competitive advantage. Beginners should focus on mastering basic driving skills and vehicle maintenance first, but once you're comfortable with your RC buggy, weight tuning becomes a valuable tool.
- Will this work on both the RC10B7 and RC10B7D? — Yes, this Factory Team servo weight plate is confirmed as a direct fit for both the RC10B7 and RC10B7D platforms. Associated designed this component to be compatible with both versions of their flagship 2WD buggy, so you can use it regardless of which model you're running.
- What is the difference between the 6g plate and the other Factory Team weight options? — Factory Team offers multiple weight options for the RC10B7 platform, including a 4g carbon fibre servo weight plate (lightest), the 6g aluminium servo weight plate (this one—moderate weight), a 16g steel servo weight plate (heavier), and arm mounts at 9g and 26g. The choice depends on your specific setup needs and track conditions. The 6g aluminium plate represents a middle-ground option that adds noticeable weight bias adjustment without going to the heavier steel alternative.
- How do I install this on my RC10B7? — The plate is designed as a direct fit component to the RC10B7 servo assembly. Installation involves mounting it directly to your servo, and because it's a Factory Team component engineered specifically for this platform, no modifications are required. Refer to your RC10B7 manual or contact RC Model Shop for detailed installation instructions specific to your vehicle configuration.
- Will adding a servo weight plate make my RC10B7 slower? — Adding any weight to an RC car will have some effect on acceleration and top speed, but the performance impact of a 6g servo plate is minimal compared to the potential handling improvements. Many racers find that the improved steering control and predictability gained through weight tuning actually results in faster overall lap times, even if the raw acceleration is slightly reduced. The key is finding the right weight configuration for your specific driving style and track conditions.
- Can I use this weight plate alongside other Factory Team tuning components? — Yes, this servo weight plate is part of the complete Factory Team weight and tuning range for the RC10B7, which also includes different arm mounts. Many racers combine multiple tuning options to dial in their perfect setup, so you can use this plate in conjunction with other Factory Team components to achieve your desired weight distribution.
