Overview

The Team Associated 13mm Rear Shock Springs in grey are precision-engineered suspension components designed for serious RC racers and enthusiasts in the UK who demand exact tuning capabilities. These genuine OEM replacement springs deliver a 2.0 lb/in spring rate, providing the perfect balance between responsiveness and stability across varying track conditions. Whether you're competing in formal RC racing events or enjoying weekend bashing sessions, having the right spring rate is absolutely critical to achieving optimal handling, traction and vehicle balance. Team Associated's reputation for quality and consistency means these springs will give you repeatable, predictable setup changes that translate directly into faster lap times and more confident driving.

If you're running a 13mm rear damper setup on your Team Associated RC car and looking to dial in your suspension for maximum performance, these springs represent an essential upgrade or replacement. They're suitable for racers across multiple Team Associated platforms and offer the kind of genuine OEM quality that competitive drivers rely on. The grey colour is the standard Team Associated identifier, making it easy to spot and manage your spring inventory. Available as a standard replacement part, these springs are an investment in your RC car's handling characteristics and your own competitive edge.

For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking quality spare parts that make a real difference to performance, Team Associated springs are the benchmark. The 2.0 lb/in rate sits in a sweet spot for many driving styles and track surfaces, offering a responsive feel without being so soft that the suspension bottoms out under acceleration or cornering loads.

Key Features

  • Precise 2.0 lb/in Spring Rate — The spring rate is the foundation of suspension tuning, determining how much resistance the spring provides as it compresses. A 2.0 lb/in rate offers a balanced response that works well across changing track conditions, helping you maintain consistent traction whilst still providing the feedback needed for smooth handling.
  • Genuine Team Associated OEM Component — These springs are manufactured to Team Associated's exact specifications as genuine original equipment, ensuring absolute compatibility with 13mm rear damper assemblies and guaranteed quality that matches your RC car's engineering standards.
  • Marked with Technical Identifiers (L61, 10.5T, 1.2D) — The L61 length designation, 10.5T (turns) and 1.2D (wire diameter) provide complete technical specifications, allowing you to understand exactly what you're purchasing and enabling precise matching with your current setup or comparison with alternative spring rates.
  • Repeatable Setup Consistency — High-quality springs maintain their spring rate over extended use, meaning your setup changes translate reliably into handling improvements without the frustration of springs wearing out and losing their characteristics unpredictably.
  • Colour-Coded for Easy Identification — The grey colour is Team Associated's standard identifier for this spring rate, making it simple to identify springs in your workshop and ensuring you're using the correct rate during setup and maintenance.
  • Suitable for Multiple Platform Applications — These 13mm rear springs are compatible with various Team Associated models including the B6.4D, B6.4, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, B7D, B84, T7 and SC7, making them a versatile spare part for your RC racing arsenal.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated 13mm Rear Shock Springs represent precision engineering designed specifically for competitive RC racing applications. With a spring constant of 2.0 lb/in, these springs provide the ideal balance between suspension compliance and support. The L61 length specification ensures proper fit within 13mm rear damper assemblies, whilst the 10.5T (turns) and 1.2D (wire diameter) specifications indicate the exact construction characteristics that determine the spring's force profile and longevity. Built to OEM standards using high-quality materials, these springs deliver consistent performance across hundreds of heat cycles and setup changes. The wire diameter of 1.2D provides the right combination of strength and flexibility, resisting permanent deformation whilst maintaining responsive feedback through the suspension. Team Associated's manufacturing process ensures tight tolerances, meaning springs from the same batch will perform identically, eliminating variables from your tuning process. Whether you're running on clay, carpet, astroturf or loose dirt surfaces, a properly chosen spring rate like this 2.0 lb/in option will help you achieve the suspension compliance needed for controlled landings and the support required for aggressive cornering. The grey colour finish is durable and resistant to the wear that comes from regular track use and workshop handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a shock spring rate and why does 2.0 lb/in matter for my RC car? — Spring rate, measured in lb/in (pounds per inch), indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 2.0 lb/in rate means the spring is relatively soft, allowing better suspension compliance over bumps whilst still providing enough support during acceleration and cornering. This moderate rate works well for drivers seeking a balanced setup across varying track conditions and is a popular choice for both competition and recreational racing in the UK.
  • Are these springs compatible with my Team Associated RC car? — These 13mm rear shock springs are compatible with multiple Team Associated platforms including the B6.4D, B6.4, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, B7D, B84, T7 and SC7 models. However, you should verify that your specific model uses 13mm rear dampers. Check your vehicle's manual or contact our team at RC Model Shop if you're unsure about compatibility.
  • What do the L61, 10.5T and 1.2D specifications mean? — These are technical identifiers that describe the spring's physical characteristics. L61 refers to the length, 10.5T indicates the number of turns in the coil construction, and 1.2D specifies the wire diameter. These specifications determine the spring's exact force characteristics and ensure proper fit within your damper assembly.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — High-quality springs like these Team Associated components can last through hundreds of heat cycles and setup adjustments. However, if you notice that your suspension feels soft or unresponsive even with proper damper fluid, or if you see signs of permanent deformation or rust, it's time to replace them. Regular inspection during routine maintenance helps catch wear early.
  • What's the difference between this spring rate and softer or stiffer options? — Softer springs (lower lb/in rating) provide more suspension compliance and are better for rough or bumpy tracks, whilst stiffer springs (higher lb/in rating) offer more support during hard cornering and acceleration. The 2.0 lb/in rate strikes a balance, making it suitable for many driving styles and track surfaces. Experienced racers often keep multiple spring rates on hand to match changing conditions.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these springs are genuine OEM Team Associated components manufactured to the brand's exact specifications. Buying genuine parts ensures compatibility, quality and consistent performance compared to aftermarket alternatives.
  • Can I use these springs if I've upgraded to different dampers? — These springs are specifically designed for 13mm rear dampers. If you've upgraded to different damper sizes, you'll need springs designed for those damper dimensions. Always check the damper specification before ordering springs.
