Key Features

  • Precise 1.9 lb/in Spring Rate — This specific spring rate provides a mid-range stiffness that balances suspension travel with responsive handling characteristics, making these springs suitable for a broad range of track surfaces and driving styles across the UK.
  • 13mm Rear Shock Compatibility — Designed specifically for 13mm rear shock applications, these springs ensure proper fitment and performance on compatible Team Associated RC models without modification.
  • Triple Identification Codes (L61, 11.0T, 1.2D) — The three identification markings provide complete specification reference, allowing you to accurately match springs for consistent suspension geometry and eliminating confusion when selecting replacement springs.
  • White Colour Finish — The bright white colour makes these springs immediately recognisable in your spares box and during maintenance, helping you quickly identify the correct spring rate when swapping suspension components.
  • Genuine Team Associated OEM Component — As an authentic manufacturer part (AS91948), these springs are engineered to Team Associated's exact specifications and quality standards, ensuring reliable performance and longevity compared to aftermarket alternatives.
  • Versatile Model Compatibility — These springs fit multiple Team Associated platforms including B6.4D, B6.4, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, and B7D models, making them a practical spares option for builders and racers with multiple vehicles.
  • Suspension Tuning Foundation — Spring rate selection is one of the most fundamental tuning adjustments in RC car setup; these springs allow you to explore different configurations to optimise rear support, traction, and overall vehicle balance.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated 13mm Rear Shock Springs deliver engineering precision that's essential for competitive RC racing and serious hobby driving. With a spring rate of 1.9 lb/in, these springs occupy the middle ground of the stiffness spectrum—softer than stiffer racing springs but firmer than ultra-soft options. This moderate rate makes them an excellent starting point for suspension tuning, allowing you to understand how spring changes affect your RC car's behaviour. The springs are manufactured to precise tolerance specifications by Team Associated, ensuring consistency across pairs and batches so that left and right suspension geometry remains perfectly balanced. This balance is critical for predictable handling and preventing the vehicle from pulling to one side during acceleration, cornering, or braking. The white colour isn't merely aesthetic; it reflects light clearly, making visual inspection easier when checking for damage or wear. The identification codes (L61, 11.0T, 1.2D) are permanent markings that survive the vehicle's operational life, ensuring you can always identify the spring rate during maintenance or when building a new RC vehicle from your spares collection. For RC enthusiasts across the UK exploring suspension setup, these springs represent genuine Team Associated quality that will serve reliably across season-long use, whether you're bashing at weekends or competing in organised racing events.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the spring rate and why does it matter? — The 1.9 lb/in spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A lower number (softer) provides more suspension travel and better traction on bumpy surfaces, whilst a higher number (stiffer) provides faster response and better support during aggressive driving. The 1.9 lb/in rate sits in the middle of the spectrum, making it versatile for various track conditions and driving styles across the UK.
  • Will these springs fit my Team Associated RC car? — These 13mm rear shock springs are designed for 13mm rear shock applications on Team Associated models including the B6.4D, B6.4, B74.2D, B74.2, B7, and B7D. Always consult your vehicle's manual to confirm compatibility before purchasing, as different models may have varying suspension specifications.
  • How do I identify the correct spring rate for my setup? — The identification codes L61, 11.0T, and 1.2D clearly mark the spring rate of this component. When ordering replacement or alternative springs, match these codes or the 1.9 lb/in specification to ensure you're selecting the correct rate for your intended suspension geometry.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts manufactured by Team Associated to their exact specifications. The part number AS91948 is the official designation, ensuring you receive genuine components rather than aftermarket alternatives.
  • What is the difference between this spring rate and others? — Team Associated produces springs in various stiffness ratings. The 1.9 lb/in rate is a mid-range option that balances suspension compliance with responsive handling. Softer springs (lower numbers) offer more compliance and traction, whilst stiffer springs (higher numbers) provide sharper handling response and higher corner speeds on grippy surfaces.
  • Do I need any tools to install these springs? — Spring installation typically requires basic RC maintenance tools and knowledge of your vehicle's suspension setup. Refer to your Team Associated vehicle manual for detailed installation instructions, as the process varies between models.
  • Why should I buy genuine Team Associated springs rather than alternatives? — Genuine Team Associated springs are engineered to exact tolerance specifications and manufactured to consistent quality standards. This ensures reliable performance, accurate spring rate characteristics, and longevity across your RC racing season or hobby use across the UK.
