These purple-coloured shock springs are part of Team Associated's comprehensive range of B-series compatible spares, fitting multiple models including the RC10B6.4D, RC10B74.2, RC10B74.2D, RC10B7, RC10B7D and RC10B84 Classic. Whether you're looking for replacement spares after wear and tear, or you're experimenting with different spring rates to find the perfect setup for your RC buggy, these genuine Team Associated components offer the reliability and consistency you need for serious RC car racing in the UK.
Key Features
- 13mm Shock Size — The 13mm diameter is the standard size for modern 1/10 scale RC buggies and off-road racing vehicles, ensuring perfect compatibility with Team Associated B-series models and similar platforms.
- 4.6 lb/in Spring Rate — This specific spring rate is engineered to provide a balance between vertical compliance and support, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced RC racers who are tuning their suspension for competitive performance.
- Purple Colour Coding — Team Associated uses colour coding to identify spring rates instantly, so you can quickly identify and match springs during setup and maintenance of your RC car.
- L44 Length Specification — The L44 designation indicates the exact compressed length of the spring, ensuring it fits perfectly in the shock tower and maintains correct ride height for your RC buggy.
- 5.75T Specification — This technical specification relates to the spring's winding characteristics and material properties, contributing to consistent performance across multiple heat cycles during racing.
- 1.2D Wire Diameter — The 1.2mm wire diameter defines the spring's stiffness characteristics and determines how it will respond to suspension movement throughout the range of motion your RC car experiences on track.
- Genuine Team Associated Part — As official Team Associated spares, these shock springs are manufactured to exact OEM specifications, ensuring perfect fit, finish and performance characteristics that match your vehicle's engineering.
- Option Part Compatibility — These springs are available as option parts for multiple Team Associated B-series models, giving you flexibility in your RC car setup and allowing you to experiment with different spring rates for tuning.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated 13mm Front Shock Springs are precision-engineered suspension components manufactured to strict OEM specifications that ensure consistent performance race after race. The 4.6 lb/in spring rate represents a medium stiffness level that works well for drivers operating in intermediate skill levels and on moderately bumpy track surfaces. The carefully calculated L44 length, combined with the 5.75T winding specification and 1.2D wire diameter, creates a spring that compresses and extends smoothly whilst maintaining its original characteristics even after hundreds of heat cycles during competitive RC racing. The purple colour coding used by Team Associated makes it easy to identify this specific spring rate at a glance, preventing accidental mixing of different spring rates during setup and maintenance. These springs are essential tuning components for anyone serious about RC buggy racing in the UK, as spring rate directly affects how your vehicle responds to track irregularities, kerbs and transitions. The front suspension tuning of your RC car is absolutely critical to achieving consistent lap times and predictable handling behaviour, and having the correct spring rate installed is the foundation of any competitive setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC buggies are these shock springs compatible with? — These 13mm front shock springs fit Team Associated B-series models including the RC10B6.4D, RC10B74.2, RC10B74.2D, RC10B7, RC10B7D and RC10B84 Classic. Always check your specific model's compatibility before ordering spares for your RC car.
- What does the 4.6 lb/in spring rate mean? — The lb/in (pounds per inch) measurement indicates how much force is required to compress the spring one inch. A 4.6 lb/in rate is considered medium stiffness, suitable for most track conditions and intermediate to advanced RC racing drivers tuning their buggy setup.
- Why is the purple colour important? — Team Associated uses colour coding to identify different spring rates instantly. Purple indicates a 4.6 lb/in rate, making it easy to identify and organise your shock springs during vehicle setup and maintenance.
- How do I know if I need to change my shock springs? — If your RC buggy feels unstable over bumps, sits too low or too high, or doesn't respond well to steering inputs, it may be time to experiment with different spring rates. Many RC racers in the UK keep multiple spring rates on hand for tuning to different track conditions.
- What is the difference between front and rear shock springs? — Front and rear shock springs often have different rates to balance the RC buggy's handling characteristics. Front springs typically control how the nose of the vehicle responds to obstacles, whilst rear springs manage traction and overall stability.
- Are these suitable for beginners? — Whilst these are genuine Team Associated spares, shock spring tuning is typically an intermediate to advanced skill. Beginners should focus on learning basic maintenance before experimenting with spring rate changes on their RC buggy.
- Where can I buy replacement shock springs for my RC buggy? — RC Model Shop stock genuine Team Associated spares including these 13mm front shock springs, available to order online or visit us in store for expert advice on suspension tuning for your RC car.
