Overview
The Team Associated 13mm Front Shock Springs in white are precision-engineered suspension components designed for competitive RC buggy racing and serious hobbyists across the UK. These front shock springs are specifically manufactured to work with Team Associated's range of high-performance 1/10 scale buggies, delivering consistent damping characteristics and reliable performance on the track. Whether you're competing in formal RC car racing events or pushing your RC model to its limits during weekend practice sessions, these springs provide the suspension tuning capability that separates amateur setups from professional-grade builds.
As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine OEM components like these shock springs, which are essential for maintaining your RC buggy's handling characteristics and performance envelope. Front shock springs are not cosmetic upgrades—they're critical suspension components that directly affect your vehicle's traction, cornering speed, stability, and overall drivability. The white colour coding on these springs makes them instantly recognisable and helps you keep track of your suspension geometry across different track conditions and setups.
These genuine Team Associated springs are built to the same exacting standards as the rest of the brand's competition-grade RC car UK components, ensuring compatibility, longevity, and predictable performance across multiple seasons of use.
Key Features
- 13mm Shock Size — These springs are specifically designed for 13mm front shocks, which are standard on many modern Team Associated buggies including the RC10 range, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable performance without modification or adaptation.
- 3.3 lb/in Spring Rate — The medium spring rate of 3.3 lb/in provides an excellent balance between compliance on high-frequency bumps and support under cornering loads, making these springs versatile across different track surfaces from loose dirt to packed clay and carpet.
- White Colour Coding — Team Associated's colour-coding system helps you instantly identify the spring rate during setup changes or when swapping components, reducing confusion and helping you maintain consistent documentation of your suspension geometry.
- L44 Length Specification — The L44 length designation ensures compatibility with Team Associated front shock towers designed for this specific spring length, preventing binding, bottoming out, or excessive travel that would compromise handling.
- 7.25 Turn Count — The 7.25T specification indicates the number of coils in the spring, which affects the overall stiffness and operating characteristics; this turn count is matched to the 3.3 lb/in rate for predictable and linear spring behaviour throughout the suspension travel.
- 1.2D Wire Diameter — The 1.2mm wire diameter is precision-engineered to deliver the specified spring rate while maintaining sufficient durability for competitive racing conditions and multiple heat cycles without permanent deformation.
- Genuine OEM Component — These are authentic Team Associated factory parts, not aftermarket copies, guaranteeing material quality, dimensional accuracy, and performance characteristics that match your vehicle's design specifications.
- Compatible with Multiple RC10 Models — These springs fit the RC10B6.4, RC10B6.4D, RC10B74.2, RC10B74.2D, RC10B7, and RC10B7D, making them a smart choice if you own or plan to own multiple vehicles in the RC10 family.
Technical Performance
Team Associated shock springs are manufactured using high-quality steel with precise heat treatment to ensure consistent spring rates and longevity across hundreds of practice runs and competitive heats. The 3.3 lb/in rate represents a medium-stiffness option that works well for most UK RC car track conditions, from indoor carpet surfaces to outdoor clay and dirt tracks. The engineering behind these springs ensures that the spring rate remains stable even after repeated compression cycles, meaning your suspension geometry and handling characteristics won't drift significantly during a race day or practice session. The 1.2mm wire diameter and 7.25 turn count work together to create a spring that's responsive enough for high-frequency track imperfections but stiff enough to support the vehicle during aggressive cornering and acceleration. These springs are part of Team Associated's quality control standards, which are recognised throughout the RC racing community as some of the most rigorous in the industry. Whether you're fine-tuning your setup for a specific track condition or experimenting with different suspension geometries to find your optimal performance window, having genuine OEM springs like these ensures that suspension changes produce predictable and measurable results rather than guesswork.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Team Associated RC buggies are these front shock springs compatible with? — These genuine 13mm front shock springs are designed for use with the RC10B6.4, RC10B6.4D, RC10B74.2, RC10B74.2D, RC10B7, and RC10B7D. If you own one of these competition-grade buggies, these springs will fit directly without modification. Always check your vehicle's manual or contact RC Model Shop if you're unsure about compatibility with your specific model.
- What does the spring rate of 3.3 lb/in mean for my RC buggy's performance? — Spring rate measures how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 3.3 lb/in rate is considered medium stiffness—stiffer than a 2.5 lb/in spring but softer than a 4.0 lb/in spring. This mid-range rate works well across most track conditions, providing good bump absorption while maintaining adequate support during cornering and acceleration. You might choose a softer spring for very rough or bumpy tracks and a stiffer spring for smooth, fast tracks where you need more control.
- Why does the colour coding matter on RC shock springs? — Team Associated uses colour coding to help you quickly identify the spring rate without measuring or checking documentation. The white colour on these springs indicates they are 3.3 lb/in springs. This system is invaluable when you're switching springs for different track conditions, comparing suspension setups, or teaching other drivers about your vehicle's configuration. Colour coding prevents mistakes and saves time during pit sessions.
- Are these genuine Team Associated springs or aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine original equipment manufacturer (OEM) springs from Team Associated, the official manufacturer. Genuine springs are engineered to exact specifications and undergo quality control testing. Choosing authentic parts from RC Model Shop ensures you get the precise performance characteristics Team Associated designed for your buggy, rather than risking compatibility or performance issues with non-genuine alternatives.
- Can I use different spring rates on the front and rear of my buggy? — Yes, Team Associated buggies are designed with tuning flexibility that allows different spring rates front and rear. You might run softer springs on the front for better traction and compliance, combined with stiffer springs on the rear for additional mid-corner support. Experimenting with different combinations is part of the competitive setup process, and having several pairs of springs in different rates is common among serious RC racers.
- How often should I replace my front shock springs? — Under normal competitive use, quality shock springs can last for multiple seasons if they remain undamaged. However, if you notice that your springs are no longer returning to their original shape after compression, if they show visible cracks or damage, or if your suspension geometry is changing throughout a practice session, it's time to replace them. Springs can lose their tension over time, so keeping spare sets on hand is a smart practice for serious competitors.
