Overview
The Team Associated Rear Shock Springs in grey are essential suspension components designed to fine-tune the handling characteristics of your RC car. With a spring rate of 2.00 lb/in and a length of 61 mm, these genuine Team Associated parts offer a straightforward way to refresh or optimise your rear suspension response. Whether you are a seasoned RC competitor, a weekend basher, or discovering the world of RC cars for the first time, having the correct spring rate is crucial for achieving consistent and repeatable setup changes across different track surfaces and driving conditions. These grey-coloured shock springs are manufactured to Team Associated's exacting standards and provide the precision engineering that RC enthusiasts across the UK expect from this trusted brand.
Spring rate tuning is one of the most effective and cost-efficient ways to dial in your RC car's performance without investing in completely new suspension geometry. The 2.00 lb/in rate represented by these springs sits in the medium range, making them suitable for a wide variety of vehicles and racing environments. Whether you are running on carpet, asphalt, concrete or dirt surfaces, having access to springs with clearly defined rates allows you to build a simple but effective spring tuning grid, enabling you to make data-driven setup decisions that translate directly into improved lap times and handling predictability. RC enthusiasts in the UK appreciate the reliability and compatibility of genuine Team Associated components, and these rear shock springs are no exception.
The 61 mm length specification is critical for compatibility with your specific vehicle platform, and Team Associated has engineered these springs to work seamlessly with a wide range of their race platforms including the RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, and RB10 models, as well as earlier variants such as the RC10B74, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.1 and RC10T6.1. Always consult your kit manual or setup sheet to ensure these springs match your vehicle's shock dimensions and current setup requirements before purchasing.

Technical Performance
The Team Associated Rear Shock Springs represent precision engineering in suspension tuning hardware. At 2.00 lb/in, these springs provide moderate resistance to compression, striking a balance between maintaining ride height and allowing sufficient suspension travel to absorb track imperfections. The 61 mm length is specifically engineered to work within the shock envelope of compatible Team Associated vehicles, ensuring that the springs compress smoothly through their range without bottoming out or losing contact with the shock shaft during aggressive cornering or jumping. The grey colour denotes the spring rate according to Team Associated's standardised colour coding system, which is documented in the Spring Color Codes reference guide available on the manufacturer's website. The springs are manufactured from high-quality wire stock that maintains consistent load characteristics over thousands of compression cycles, a critical factor for maintaining predictable handling throughout a race meeting or long practice session. These shock springs are compatible with multiple Team Associated platforms including the RC10B64D, RC10B64, RC10B64 Club Racer, RC10B6.1, RC10B6.1D, RC10T6.1, RC10SC6.1, RC10B74, RC10B6.1DL, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.2D, RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, and RB10 models, though you must verify that the 61 mm length matches your specific vehicle's shock requirements by consulting your kit manual or setup documentation. The precision manufacturing ensures repeatable results when making suspension changes, allowing you to move confidently through suspension tuning experiments and identify the optimal setup for your driving style and local track conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these rear shock springs fit my Team Associated RC car? — The 61 mm length and 2.00 lb/in rate are compatible with numerous Team Associated platforms including the RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, RB10, RC10B74, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.1 and many others. However, you must consult your specific kit manual or setup sheet to confirm compatibility with your exact vehicle model, as shock dimensions can vary between platforms.
- What does the 2.00 lb/in spring rate actually mean? — Spring rate describes how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 2.00 lb/in rate means it takes 2 pounds of force to compress the spring by one inch. Softer springs (lower numbers) provide more compliance and grip on bumpy tracks, while stiffer springs (higher numbers) reduce body roll and provide more direct handling feedback on smooth surfaces.
- How do I know if I need softer or stiffer springs? — If your RC car feels too soft and wallows through corners, you likely need stiffer springs. If the car feels harsh and skips over bumps, softer springs may help. The best approach is to build a tuning grid with springs at different rates (for example 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2 lb/in) and test each on your preferred track to find the sweet spot for your driving style and local conditions.
- Can I use these springs on different shock models? — The 61 mm length specification is critical for proper fit and function. These springs are specifically engineered for Team Associated shocks that accommodate 61 mm springs. Using springs of the wrong length can result in improper preload, reduced suspension travel, or complete incompatibility. Always verify the shock length requirement in your vehicle's manual before purchasing.
- Are these shock springs suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. In fact, learning to tune suspension through spring rate changes is an excellent introduction to RC car setup for beginners. These genuine Team Associated springs are reliable and consistent, making them ideal for building confidence in suspension tuning fundamentals before exploring more advanced modifications.
- What colour coding system does Team Associated use for shock springs? — Team Associated colour-codes their shock springs by rate to help racers quickly identify the correct springs during setup and maintenance. The grey colour on these springs denotes a 2.00 lb/in rate. A Spring Color Codes reference document is available from Team Associated to help you identify other rates.
- How many pairs of springs should I keep in stock? — Serious RC racers typically keep springs at three different rates on hand to allow for suspension tuning across varying track conditions and weather. Having springs at 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2 lb/in would allow you to make meaningful adjustments without breaking the bank.
- Is this a complete shock assembly or just the springs? — This product contains only the rear shock springs themselves. If you need a complete shock unit, you will need to purchase the full shock assembly separately. These springs are replacement/upgrade components designed to work with existing Team Associated shock bodies.
