Key Features
- Precisely Calibrated 3.90 lb/in Spring Rate — The spring constant of 3.90 pounds per inch provides a defined, medium-stiffness suspension rate that balances ride comfort with responsive handling, allowing you to fine-tune your RC car's suspension geometry for optimal performance on various track surfaces and driving conditions without requiring extreme suspension adjustments.
- Compact 44mm Length — The L44mm length is specifically engineered to fit within Team Associated's front shock housings, ensuring proper suspension geometry and ride height maintenance, which is absolutely critical for maintaining your RC car's handling characteristics and preventing unwanted changes to camber and anti-roll bar angles.
- Distinctive Blue Colour Coding — The bright blue finish is part of Team Associated's colour identification system, allowing you to instantly distinguish this 3.90 lb/in rate from other spring rates in your collection, saving valuable time during pit stops and suspension tuning sessions when you need to swap springs quickly.
- 12mm Diameter Design — These 12mm front shock springs are dimensionally standardised for Team Associated front shock assemblies, guaranteeing perfect fitment and eliminating any guesswork when installing or replacing your suspension springs during maintenance or setup changes.
- Consistent Performance Characteristics — Team Associated springs deliver a predictable and linear spring rate curve, meaning your suspension responds consistently to bumps and weight transfer throughout the range of motion, giving you confidence in your setup across different driving situations and allowing you to confidently dial in your suspension without unpredictable behaviour.
- Professional-Grade Construction — These springs are manufactured using high-quality steel with precision winding and heat treatment, ensuring they maintain their spring rate over extended use, resist deformation, and provide thousands of kilometres of reliable performance without sagging or losing their original characteristics.
- Easy Installation and Maintenance — The straightforward design allows quick installation into your RC car's front shock towers, and the modular approach means you can easily experiment with different spring rates to find your ideal setup without requiring specialised tools or technical expertise.
- Ideal for Suspension Tuning — These springs are perfect for fine-tuning your RC buggy's suspension after you've established your baseline setup, allowing you to adjust front-end stiffness independently to dial in the exact handling feel your driving style requires for maximum grip and control.
Technical Performance
The AS91833 front shock springs represent the pinnacle of Team Associated's suspension engineering, utilising high-tensile steel construction and precision manufacturing techniques to deliver consistent performance across extended racing seasons. At 3.90 lb/in, this spring rate sits in the medium range of Team Associated's spring lineup, making it suitable for a wide variety of track conditions from smooth carpet tracks to rougher outdoor circuits. The 44mm length is meticulously calculated to work within Team Associated's front shock geometry, maintaining proper suspension travel and ensuring that the springs compress and extend smoothly without binding or bottoming out. The 12mm diameter ensures compatibility with all Team Associated front shock towers across their buggy and truck ranges. The spring's performance is enhanced by its linear rate characteristics, meaning as the spring compresses, it exerts progressively more force in a predictable manner—this predictability is absolutely essential for competitive RC racing where you need to be confident in how your car will respond to track conditions. The blue colour coding system used by Team Associated makes it easy to identify this spring rate at a glance, which is particularly valuable when you're running multiple cars or testing different spring combinations. These springs have been extensively tested by Team Associated engineers and professional racing teams worldwide, ensuring that when you purchase the AS91833, you're getting suspension components that have proven themselves in the most demanding racing environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What vehicles are these front shock springs compatible with? — The AS91833 springs are specifically designed for Team Associated RC cars and fit the RC10B64D, RC10B64, RC10B64 Club Racer, RC10B6.1, RC10B6.1D, RC10T6.1, RC10SC6.1, RC10B74, RC10B6.1DL, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.2D, RC10B74.1, RC10B74.1D, SR10, RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, RB10, SR10M Dirt Oval, and RB10 Retro models. Always check your vehicle's manual to confirm spring compatibility before purchasing.
- What does 3.90 lb/in mean and how do I know if this is the right spring rate for my RC car? — The 3.90 lb/in specification refers to the spring constant or spring rate, which indicates how much force (in pounds) is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 3.90 lb/in spring is considered a medium-stiffness rate—softer springs provide a more compliant ride and better bump absorption on rough tracks, whilst stiffer springs improve responsiveness and reduce body roll during aggressive cornering. The right spring rate depends on your driving style, track surface, and current suspension setup. Many racers start with a medium rate like 3.90 lb/in and then adjust up or down based on how the car handles.
- What's the difference between front and rear shock springs? — Front and rear springs are different because the front suspension must handle the weight transfer that occurs under acceleration and braking, plus it absorbs impacts from bumps and curbs that the driver sees first. Rear springs deal with different weight transfer characteristics and usually require different rates than front springs. The AS91833 is specifically designed for front suspension use, so always ensure you're installing these in your vehicle's front shocks, not the rear.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — High-quality Team Associated springs like the AS91833 can last for many racing seasons with proper care. However, if you notice your car's ride height dropping, your suspension feeling less responsive, or the spring appearing visibly damaged or deformed, it's time to replace them. Regular inspection before race meetings is a good practice.
- Can I mix and match different spring rates on the front and rear of my RC car? — Yes, and in fact this is a standard tuning technique! Many racers run softer springs on the rear and stiffer springs on the front, or vice versa, depending on track conditions and their driving style. This asymmetric setup allows fine-tuning of weight transfer characteristics and can significantly improve handling balance.
- What's the best way to install these springs? — Always follow the installation instructions in your Team Associated vehicle's manual. Typically, you'll need to remove your shock tower or shock body, remove the old springs, and carefully install the new AS91833 springs, ensuring they seat properly in the shock retainers. Take care not to drop the springs or lose small components during installation.
- Are these springs suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst these are professional-grade components used by competitive racers, they're perfect for anyone building or upgrading an RC buggy. The 3.90 lb/in rate is a sensible middle-ground spring rate that works well on most track types, making it an excellent choice for someone learning to tune their RC car's suspension.
