Technical Performance

The Team Associated B6.1 Caster and Steering Blocks represent precision engineering designed for competitive 1/10 scale off-road RC buggy racing. The caster blocks are manufactured to exacting tolerances that ensure consistent steering geometry and predictable handling characteristics essential for serious competition. The inclusion of three different caster angle inserts (0°, 2.5° and 5°) allows racers to dial in the perfect balance between steering response and stability for their specific track conditions. The caster block shims provide additional micro-adjustment capability, enabling fine-tuning of the front-end geometry to match varying track surfaces, ambient temperature and tyre characteristics. The dual steering block options — both standard and 3mm variants — provide further customisation for drivers seeking to optimise their steering feel and responsiveness. These components are manufactured from durable materials engineered to withstand the demanding forces experienced during high-speed cornering, acceleration and braking typical of competitive RC buggy racing. The engineering philosophy behind the B6.1 platform emphasises precise geometry control and adjustment flexibility, which is reflected in this comprehensive parts set that gives you multiple ways to dial in the perfect setup for your driving style and track conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is included in the B6.1 Caster and Steering Blocks parts set? — The complete package includes left and right caster blocks, two caster block shims, six caster block inserts providing three different angle options (0°, 2.5° and 5°), and both standard and 3mm steering blocks for left and right sides. This comprehensive assembly covers all the components needed for a complete front-end refresh.
  • Can I use these parts on different Associated models? — Yes, these genuine Team Associated parts are compatible across the entire B6.1 generation including the B6.1, B6.1D and B6.1DL variants, plus the related T6.1 and RC10SC6.1 short-course models. They also fit the newer B6.2, B6.2D, T6.2, RC10SC6.2, B6.3 and B6.3D platforms, making them a universal choice for Associated racers with multiple chassis.
  • How do the different caster angle inserts affect my RC buggy's handling? — Caster angle is crucial to your RC car's steering feel and cornering performance. The 0-degree insert provides maximum steering response but can feel twitchy on bumpy surfaces. The 2.5-degree insert offers a balanced compromise for most track conditions. The 5-degree insert provides more stability and reduces tyre scrubbing during high-speed cornering, making it ideal for smooth, flowing tracks. You can experiment with each option to find what works best for your driving style and local track.
  • What is the difference between the standard and 3mm steering blocks? — The 3mm steering blocks provide additional steering offset, which affects your RC buggy's Ackermann steering geometry and front-end responsiveness. The standard blocks suit most drivers and conditions, whilst the 3mm variants offer an alternative geometry for those seeking to fine-tune their steering characteristics. Having both options allows you to experiment and find the perfect setup.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic OEM parts manufactured by Team Associated and supplied through authorised dealers like RC Model Shop. Genuine parts guarantee perfect fitment, precise tolerances and reliable performance on your Associated RC buggy or truck.
  • Why would I need to replace my caster and steering blocks? — Caster and steering blocks are subject to significant stress during RC racing and bashing. Over time, impacts, crashes and normal wear can damage or bend these components, affecting your steering geometry and handling consistency. Replacing worn blocks restores your buggy's baseline geometry and steering response, which is essential for competitive racing performance.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — These are replacement and tuning parts rather than a complete beginner's starter set. They're ideal for existing Associated B6.1 owners who want to maintain their chassis or experiment with different geometry setups. If you're new to Associated RC cars, you might start with a ready-to-run RTR model and explore these upgrade components as you develop your skills.
