Turnbuckles are critical components in any RC car's suspension and steering linkage systems. They allow you to adjust the length of suspension rods and steering rods with precision, which directly affects your vehicle's handling characteristics, ride height, and overall performance. By using genuine Associated turnbuckles, you ensure that your adjustments are made with the exact specifications that Team Associated engineers designed for your specific model. This is particularly important if you're participating in RC car racing or want to maintain factory-standard setup options for your buggy or truck.

RC Model Shop stocks these turnbuckles as part of our comprehensive range of Associated spares and upgrades. As an authorised Team Associated retailer, we carry genuine factory parts that meet the exacting standards you expect from a premium RC manufacturer. Whether you need a single replacement turnbuckle due to wear or damage, or you're stocking spares for regular maintenance, these AS91723 units are in stock and ready to ship, typically dispatched the same day.

  • Precise Adjustability — Turnbuckles allow you to fine-tune the length of suspension and steering rods with accuracy, enabling you to dial in your suspension geometry, ride height, and steering response to match track conditions or your driving preferences.
  • Wear Resistance — Genuine Associated turnbuckles are manufactured from durable materials designed to withstand repeated adjustments and the rigours of RC racing without stripping threads or losing adjustment, maintaining their functionality over hundreds of adjustment cycles.
  • Essential Maintenance Part — Turnbuckles are wear items that benefit from periodic replacement, particularly if you frequently adjust your suspension setup or participate in competitive racing where precise geometry is crucial to performance.

Technical Performance

The Associated 3x48mm Turnbuckles represent a fundamental component in the suspension and steering systems of Associated RC buggies and trucks. Turnbuckles function as adjustable rod ends that connect various suspension and steering components, allowing drivers to modify geometry settings that directly influence handling behaviour. The 3x48mm specification indicates the diameter and length of the rod, which has been engineered to interface precisely with Associated's suspension linkage points. These components are manufactured from hardened materials designed to resist corrosion and maintain thread integrity through repeated assembly and disassembly cycles. The turnbuckle design allows for fine incremental adjustments, typically achieved by rotating the central body whilst holding the end fittings, enabling suspension geometry modifications measured in millimetres that can dramatically affect your RC car's cornering speed, stability, and overall driveability. For competitive RC racing enthusiasts, the ability to accurately adjust suspension geometry through quality turnbuckles is essential for optimising performance across different track surfaces and racing conditions. The wide compatibility across the B6, B6.1, B64, and B74 platform range demonstrates the enduring design philosophy at Team Associated, where components are engineered for longevity and cross-platform utility.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are official factory-manufactured turnbuckles designed and produced by Team Associated. They are not aftermarket copies; they are the exact components specified for your Associated RC vehicle, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
  • Which Associated models do these turnbuckles fit? — The AS91723 3x48mm turnbuckles are compatible with the Associated B6, B6.1, B64, and B74 models. If you own any of these platforms, these are the correct replacement spares for your suspension and steering linkage systems.
  • Why should I use genuine turnbuckles instead of alternatives? — Genuine Associated turnbuckles are engineered to precise tolerances that match your vehicle's original specifications. Using factory parts ensures that your suspension geometry adjustments are accurate and that threads won't strip prematurely, which is especially important if you're making frequent adjustments for racing or performance tuning.
  • How often should I replace my turnbuckles? — Turnbuckles are durable components but are considered wear items, particularly if you regularly adjust your suspension setup. You should replace them if you notice stripped threads, difficulty turning the adjustment mechanism, or if they become bent or damaged during use. Competitive racers often replace turnbuckles during routine maintenance to ensure consistent geometry.
  • Can I use these turnbuckles with other RC car brands? — These turnbuckles are specifically designed for Team Associated vehicles and may not be compatible with other RC brands due to different fitment specifications. Always check your vehicle's manual or consult with the manufacturer to ensure compatibility before installing any spares.
  • What tools do I need to adjust turnbuckles? — Most turnbuckles can be adjusted by holding the end fittings with pliers or a spanner whilst rotating the central body with another tool. Check your vehicle's manual for specific adjustment procedures and tool recommendations for your particular model.
  • Are these parts suitable for beginners? — Turnbuckles are essential suspension components that every RC enthusiast should understand how to adjust and maintain. Whilst they are relatively simple components, accurate adjustment requires some knowledge of suspension geometry. Beginners should consult their vehicle manual or seek advice from experienced RC enthusiasts before making geometry changes.
