Overview

The Associated B6 Brass Arm Mount C Laydown 25g (AS91690) is a precision suspension component designed for competitive RC buggy racing and high-performance setups. This brass arm mount is specifically engineered for the B6 platform, one of the most popular 1/10 scale competition buggies in the RC hobby. Whether you're a seasoned racer fine-tuning your RC car UK setup or an enthusiast looking to upgrade your suspension geometry, this laydown configuration mount offers the precision engineering that Associated is renowned for in the RC racing community.

As a critical suspension component, the arm mount directly influences your buggy's handling characteristics, stability, and cornering performance. The "C" position designation refers to a specific location in the suspension layout, and the laydown configuration provides a particular geometry that affects ride height and anti-roll bar angles. For RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand competition-grade performance, selecting the correct arm mount is essential for achieving the setup you need from your race kit or custom build.

Associated has established itself as a trusted manufacturer of high-quality RC buggy parts and competition vehicles. The B6 platform has proven itself in countless races and bashings across the UK and worldwide, with countless spare parts available to keep your machine performing at its peak. This brass arm mount is manufactured to precision tolerances, ensuring consistency and reliability in your suspension setup.

Key Features

  • Brass Construction — The arm mount is manufactured from brass, a material chosen for its durability, weight characteristics, and consistent mechanical properties that ensure reliable performance lap after lap during racing or bashing sessions.
  • C Position Configuration — Designated for the "C" position in the B6 suspension layout, this mount is specifically engineered to work with the geometry and mounting points of the B6 chassis, ensuring perfect fitment and performance.
  • Laydown Design — The laydown configuration provides a specific suspension geometry that affects the ride height and anti-roll bar angle, allowing you to fine-tune your buggy's handling characteristics for different track conditions and driving styles.
  • Precision Manufactured — As an official Associated spare part, this mount is manufactured to exacting tolerances, ensuring consistent performance and perfect compatibility with genuine B6 components and upgrade kits.
  • Lightweight at 25g — Weighing just 25 grams, this component contributes minimally to unsprung mass, allowing your suspension to respond more quickly to track irregularities and improving overall handling performance.
  • Direct Compatibility — Designed specifically for B6 models described as "laydown" configuration, this part integrates seamlessly with the rest of your suspension setup without requiring modification or additional adaptations.

Technical Performance

The Associated B6 Brass Arm Mount C Laydown 25g represents precision engineering in suspension design. Manufactured from brass, this component offers the ideal balance of durability and weight for competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy racing. The "C" position mount is part of the sophisticated multi-link suspension system that defines the B6 platform, one of the most respected competition buggies in the RC hobby. The laydown configuration specifically adjusts the suspension geometry to achieve particular ride heights and anti-roll bar angles, critical parameters for fine-tuning your buggy's handling on different surfaces. At 25 grams, the mount adds minimal unsprung weight to your suspension system, which means your shocks can react more quickly to bumps and changes in track surface, translating to better traction and more responsive steering feel. This part exemplifies Associated's commitment to precision manufacturing—each mount is produced to consistent tolerances that ensure perfect integration with other B6 components. Whether you're setting up a race kit for track competition or building a custom configuration for off-road bashing, this arm mount provides the precision foundation your suspension geometry demands.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the purpose of an arm mount in RC buggy suspension? — The arm mount is a critical suspension component that connects the suspension arms to the chassis. It defines the geometry and angles of your suspension, directly affecting how your RC buggy handles, how much grip you have at different corners, and how your shocks compress and rebound. Getting the correct arm mount for your specific setup is essential for achieving the handling characteristics you need for racing or bashing.
  • Will the AS91690 work with my B6 buggy? — This mount is specifically designed for B6 models configured in the laydown setup. You should verify from your build notes or Associated documentation that your buggy uses a "laydown" configuration and requires a "C" position mount. If you're uncertain about compatibility, our team at RC Model Shop can help you identify the correct parts for your specific setup.
  • Why is brass used for this component? — Brass is selected for suspension mounts because it offers excellent durability, consistent mechanical properties, and appropriate weight characteristics for RC applications. It resists corrosion better than steel and provides the rigidity needed for a suspension mount while keeping weight to a minimum at just 25 grams.
  • What makes the laydown configuration different from other setups? — The laydown configuration affects the geometry of your suspension by adjusting the ride height and the angles of the anti-roll bars. Different configurations are used for different track conditions and racing styles. If your B6 is set up as a laydown configuration, you need the laydown-specific arm mounts to achieve the intended handling characteristics.
  • Can I use this as an upgrade on an existing B6? — If your B6 is currently configured with a different arm mount type, switching to this component would change your suspension geometry. This should only be done if you're deliberately reconfiguring your buggy to a laydown setup, and you should ensure all related suspension components are compatible with the new configuration.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a precision spare part designed for experienced RC enthusiasts who understand suspension geometry and are actively tuning their B6 setups. Beginners should focus on learning the basics with a complete, pre-configured buggy before undertaking suspension component changes.
  • How does the 25g weight specification matter? — The weight of suspension components affects unsprung mass—the weight that the shocks must control. Lower unsprung mass allows your shocks to react more quickly to track surfaces, improving traction and handling response. At 25 grams, this mount is optimised for responsive suspension performance.
