Overview

The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC8B3.2 FT Centre Dogbone Set - Rear (AS81467) is a premium drivetrain upgrade designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand maximum efficiency and reliability from their centre drive system. Whether you're running an RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2 or RC8B3.2e buggy, this genuine Team Associated spare part transforms your RC car UK experience by replacing traditional universal joints with a simplified, more efficient dogbone drive system. This is an essential upgrade for anyone looking to extend the lifespan of their centre drive and improve overall drivetrain performance on both track and off-road surfaces.

Dogbone drive systems represent a significant advancement in RC buggy engineering compared to conventional universal joint setups. By eliminating the complexity of dual drive pins and replacing them with a single, purpose-engineered pin design, Team Associated has created a drivetrain solution that reduces friction, minimises wear and maximises power transfer efficiency. For competitive racers, weekend bashers and collectors alike, upgrading to this centre dogbone set means less maintenance, longer component life and more reliable performance when it matters most. This rear centre dogbone set is the perfect complement to Team Associated's commitment to delivering race-grade quality in every spare part.

RC Model Shop stocks genuine Team Associated spares and upgrades for the RC8B3 series, ensuring you have access to authentic replacement parts that maintain the engineering integrity of your buggy. This particular rear centre dogbone set is an investment in durability and performance that will pay dividends over countless runs and racing sessions.

Key Features

  • Simplified Single-Pin Drive System — Unlike traditional universal joints that rely on two drive pins, this dogbone utilises just one drive pin, creating a more efficient, direct power transfer pathway that reduces mechanical complexity and friction losses throughout your centre drive system.
  • Extended Component Lifespan — The streamlined design with fewer moving parts means less stress on individual components, resulting in dramatically improved durability and reduced wear rates compared to conventional universal joint setups used in RC buggy drivetrains.
  • Precision Engineering — Team Associated has engineered this dogbone with exact pin specifications: the shorter 3x12mm pin interfaces with your centre differential whilst the larger 3x14mm pin connects to your front or rear outdrive, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal performance.
  • Complete Set Contents — Each purchase includes one dogbone unit, one matching outdrive, and one M5x4mm set screw, giving you everything required for a complete rear centre drive upgrade without hunting for additional components.
  • Broad Model Compatibility — This rear centre dogbone set is engineered to fit RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2 and RC8B3.2e buggies, making it a versatile upgrade option across Team Associated's popular mid-range buggy platform.
  • Authentic Team Associated Parts — As an original equipment manufacturer component, this AS81467 spare part maintains the exact specifications and build quality that Team Associated engineers designed into every RC buggy, preserving your vehicle's performance characteristics.
  • Performance Efficiency Gain — The reduction in friction and mechanical complexity directly translates to improved efficiency throughout your centre drive, meaning more of your motor's power reaches the wheels rather than being lost to drivetrain resistance.

Technical Performance

The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC8B3.2 FT Centre Dogbone Set represents the pinnacle of RC buggy drivetrain engineering. This rear centre drive upgrade is manufactured to precise tolerances using high-quality materials selected specifically for durability under the demanding conditions of competitive RC racing and recreational bashing. The dogbone drive system's engineering advantage comes from its ability to transfer rotational force through a single, optimally-positioned drive pin rather than relying on the complex articulation of universal joints. The 3x12mm pin (designed for centre differential engagement) and the 3x14mm pin (engineered for outdrive connection) work in perfect concert to create a drivetrain that experiences less rotational resistance, lower operating temperatures and extended service life. This is particularly crucial for RC car enthusiasts in the UK who may be running back-to-back heats or extended bashing sessions where drivetrain heat buildup can cause premature component failure. The included M5x4mm set screw provides secure retention, ensuring your dogbone remains properly positioned throughout intense driving conditions. Whether you're competing in organised RC races or enjoying weekend bash sessions, this centre dogbone upgrade delivers measurable improvements in drivetrain reliability, efficiency and longevity that justify the upgrade cost many times over.

What's in the Box

  • One rear centre dogbone unit
  • One matching rear outdrive
  • One M5x4mm set screw for secure retention

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between dogbone and universal joint drive systems in RC buggies? — Dogbone drive systems utilise a single drive pin instead of the two pins required by universal joints, creating a simpler, more efficient design with less friction, reduced wear and improved power transfer efficiency. This makes dogbones particularly popular for competitive racing and intensive bashing applications where reliability matters most.
  • Will this rear centre dogbone set fit my RC8B3 buggy? — Yes, this AS81467 rear centre dogbone set is designed to fit RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2 and RC8B3.2e models. However, note that this is specifically the rear centre dogbone set; if you need a front upgrade, Team Associated also produces a front version.
  • How do I know which pin goes where during installation? — Installation is straightforward: the shorter 3x12mm pin connects to your centre differential, whilst the larger 3x14mm pin attaches to the rear outdrive. Always consult your buggy's manual for precise installation guidance to ensure correct assembly.
  • Is this upgrade suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement spare part rather than a ready-to-run product, so it's intended for RC enthusiasts who already own a compatible buggy and have basic mechanical knowledge. However, upgrading to a dogbone system is recommended for anyone seeking improved drivetrain longevity and performance.
  • How much difference will upgrading to dogbones make to my RC buggy's performance? — You'll notice improved efficiency due to reduced friction, potentially slightly higher top speeds due to less drivetrain resistance, and most significantly, dramatically extended component lifespan through reduced wear on your centre drive system.
  • What tools do I need to install this dogbone set? — Standard RC hobby tools are typically sufficient, including a hex key set, screwdrivers and possibly a small wrench for the M5x4mm set screw. Your buggy's manual will specify exact requirements.
