Overview
The Team Associated RC8B3 Arm Mount [B] HRC (AS81292) is a precision-engineered suspension component designed specifically for competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy racing on faster, high-grip tracks. This High Roll Centre arm mount is an essential upgrade for anyone running a Team Associated RC8B3, RC8B3.1, or RC8B3.2 and looking to optimise their vehicle's handling characteristics. Whether you're a weekend racer, a club competitor, or a serious RC car enthusiast in the UK, this arm mount represents a genuine performance enhancement that allows you to fine-tune your suspension geometry for track-specific conditions.
Manufactured by Team Associated, a globally recognised leader in high-performance RC racing vehicles and components, this arm mount exemplifies the engineering excellence and attention to detail that separates competitive RC racing equipment from standard hobby-grade parts. The HRC design philosophy enables you to raise the inner hinge pin pivots by 1mm, fundamentally changing how your RC buggy's suspension behaves under load. This seemingly small adjustment unlocks significant benefits in ground clearance, stability, and overall handling balance—particularly crucial when you're pushing your brushless RC buggy to its limits on smooth, grippy asphalt or clay surfaces.
If you're serious about RC racing performance and want to extract every last tenth of a second from your Associated RC8B3 platform, this arm mount is the kind of precision upgrade that separates competitive drivers from the rest of the field. Available now through RC Model Shop, this component is manufactured to Team Associated's exacting quality standards using aerospace-grade materials.
Key Features
- High Roll Centre (HRC) Design — The elevated pivot point geometry allows you to run a higher roll centre, which dramatically increases suspension stability on faster, high-grip racing surfaces without sacrificing responsiveness or introducing understeer into your handling balance.
- 1mm Higher Ground Clearance — By raising the inner hinge pin pivots by precisely 1mm, this arm mount increases the overall ground clearance of your RC8B3 chassis, protecting critical suspension components from track debris and reducing the risk of high-speed crashes caused by contact with the racing surface.
- Narrower Profile Design — Both the Arm Mount A (#81291) and Arm Mount B (#81292) feature a narrower profile compared to standard mounts, delivering additional side clearance that minimises the chance of suspension contact with obstacles, terrain irregularities, and debris encountered during high-speed racing.
- Premium 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction — Machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aerospace-grade aluminium alloy, this arm mount offers exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity whilst remaining lightweight enough to keep your RC buggy's unsprung mass to a minimum for maximum responsiveness.
- Team Associated Engineering — This component is engineered by Team Associated to integrate seamlessly with the RC8B3 platform, ensuring perfect fitment and validated performance across all iterations including the RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8T3.2, and RC8T3.2e.
- Proven Competition Track Record — The HRC arm mount philosophy is born from Team Associated's extensive experience in international RC racing competitions, delivering geometry modifications that are proven to enhance handling on the types of surfaces where serious racers compete.
Technical Performance
The RC8B3 Arm Mount [B] HRC represents a sophisticated approach to suspension geometry optimisation that goes far beyond simple bolt-on convenience. Manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium—an alloy specifically chosen for its exceptional strength-to-weight properties and resistance to fatigue cracking under repeated stress—this mount is engineered to withstand the demanding forces encountered during high-speed RC racing. The 1mm elevation of the inner hinge pin pivots fundamentally alters the kinematic behaviour of your suspension, raising the roll centre and enabling tuning strategies that simply aren't possible with standard arm mounts. This becomes critically important when you're racing on faster, high-grip surfaces where maintaining consistent grip through corners whilst preserving mid-corner stability is the difference between winning and crashing. The narrower profile of both Mount A and Mount B variants maximises side clearance, reducing the likelihood of contact with track features or debris that could disrupt your vehicle's balance mid-corner. For brushless RC buggy racing at the competitive level, where every handling nuance matters, this component is precisely the kind of suspension upgrade that delivers measurable improvements in lap times and consistency. The precision manufacturing and proven design ensure that this arm mount integrates perfectly with the RC8B3 platform, maintaining the structural integrity and performance characteristics that Team Associated engineered into the platform from the ground up.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a High Roll Centre arm mount and why would I need one for my RC8B3 buggy? — A High Roll Centre (HRC) arm mount elevates the pivot points of your suspension, allowing you to run a higher roll centre. This geometry change increases suspension stability during high-speed cornering on faster, high-grip racing surfaces, reducing body roll and allowing your brushless RC buggy to maintain better composure through technical sections. If you're racing on smooth, grippy tracks and find your RC car is rolling excessively in corners or feeling unstable at speed, the HRC mount is the correct suspension tuning solution.
- Will this arm mount fit my specific RC8B3 model? — Yes, the AS81292 is compatible with the following Team Associated models: RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8T3.2, and RC8T3.2e. However, you will require the updated RC8B3 Arm Mount Insert Set (#81050) for proper installation and fitment.
- What is the difference between Arm Mount A (#81291) and Arm Mount B (#81292)? — Both the A and B variants are narrower than standard mounts and feature the HRC geometry with elevated pivot points. The specific differences relate to mounting geometry and roll centre height characteristics, with the B mount offering a different tuning balance suited to particular track conditions and driving styles. Team Associated provides both options to allow competitive racers the flexibility to fine-tune suspension behaviour for optimal performance on their specific racing surface.
- Is this part suitable for beginners? — The RC8B3 Arm Mount [B] HRC is designed specifically for competitive RC racing rather than casual bashing or beginner use. To maximise the benefits of this component, you should have a good understanding of RC suspension geometry and handling tuning. Beginners may find that a standard arm mount provides adequate performance, but if you're progressing toward competitive racing, this HRC mount represents exactly the kind of precision upgrade that will improve your lap times and handling consistency.
- What material is this arm mount made from and why does that matter? — The AS81292 is manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium, a premium aerospace-grade alloy renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue. This material choice ensures that your arm mount can withstand the repeated stress of high-speed racing whilst remaining as lightweight as possible, keeping unsprung mass to a minimum for maximum suspension responsiveness and overall vehicle handling performance.
- How much does ground clearance actually improve with the 1mm pivot elevation? — Whilst 1mm may sound insignificant, this elevation has measurable real-world impact on ground clearance. When combined with the narrower profile design of both the A and B variants, this upgrade delivers meaningful protection against track debris, rock strikes, and contact with terrain features that could cause suspension damage or handling disruption during racing.
