Key Features
- 5.1 lb/in Spring Rate — The precisely calibrated spring rate of 5.1 pounds per inch provides a specific balance between suspension compliance and support, allowing you to tune your RC buggy's rear end handling characteristics for your preferred driving style and track conditions.
- V2 Design — Team Associated's V2 springs incorporate refinements over previous generations, offering improved consistency and reliability for both competitive racing and casual RC car operation.
- Colour-Coded Purple — The purple colour coding makes these springs easy to identify and differentiate from other spring rates in your spares box, reducing the risk of mixing up different suspension components during setup changes.
- L86 Length Specification — The L86 length designation ensures proper fitment and suspension geometry for compatible RC8T4 and RC8T4e models, maintaining the correct ride height and suspension travel.
- 9.0T Coil Configuration — The 9.0 turn specification delivers the spring characteristics engineered for these platforms, contributing to the overall suspension response and handling balance.
- 1.6D Wire Diameter — The 1.6mm wire diameter provides the appropriate stiffness and durability needed for RC buggy operation, balancing strength with weight considerations.
- Genuine Team Associated Quality — Built by Team Associated, these springs are manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring repeatable performance and reliability across multiple sets for consistent tuning between vehicles or between practice sessions.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated Rear Springs V2 represent precision suspension engineering at its finest. With a spring rate of 5.1 lb/in, these components are specifically engineered to work within the suspension geometry and performance envelope of the RC8T4 and RC8T4e 1/10 scale buggies. The L86 length ensures proper suspension travel and ride height, whilst the 9.0-turn coil count with 1.6mm wire diameter delivers the exact spring characteristics Team Associated has tuned for optimal handling on both on-road and off-road surfaces. The V2 generation represents the latest refinement in spring technology, offering improved consistency batch-to-batch and reliability through multiple race seasons. These springs are constructed to exacting standards that Team Associated is recognised for throughout the UK RC community, providing the foundation for predictable and repeatable suspension tuning. Whether you're competing at race meetings or enjoying casual RC car driving, these springs will maintain their performance characteristics and deliver the responsive handling feedback that serious RC enthusiasts demand.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these rear springs compatible with my RC8T4 buggy? — Yes, the Team Associated Rear Springs V2 with specification L86, 9.0T, 1.6D are specifically designed for the RC8T4 and RC8T4e platforms. Always verify your current vehicle model before ordering replacement springs to ensure proper fitment and suspension geometry.
- What does the 5.1 lb/in spring rate mean for my RC car's handling? — The 5.1 lb/in spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A medium spring rate like this provides a balance between suspension compliance for traction and support for controlled handling. Softer springs (lower numbers) offer more compliance, whilst stiffer springs (higher numbers) provide firmer support. This rate suits most driving conditions and skill levels on UK tracks and off-road terrain.
- How often should I replace my RC buggy's rear springs? — Springs can degrade over time due to repeated compression cycles and environmental exposure. If you notice a significant change in ride height, reduced suspension responsiveness, or inconsistent handling between your front and rear suspension, it's time to replace your springs. Competitive racers often replace springs regularly as part of their tuning protocol.
- What's the difference between the V2 and previous spring versions? — Team Associated's V2 springs incorporate refinements in design and manufacturing, offering improved consistency and reliability compared to earlier generations. The V2 springs maintain their performance characteristics more predictably across multiple heat cycles and racing sessions, making them the preferred choice for both competitive and recreational RC car operation.
- Can I mix different spring rates on my RC buggy? — Whilst possible, mixing significantly different spring rates between front and rear can create handling imbalances and unpredictable behaviour. It's recommended to maintain consistent spring rates or make intentional tuning changes across matched sets to maintain proper suspension geometry and handling characteristics.
