Overview

The Associated RC8B3.1/RC8B3.2 FT Steering Block Arms +2 Degree Aluminium (AS81063) are precision-engineered steering components designed specifically for competitive RC buggy racers and enthusiasts in the UK who demand factory-quality performance upgrades. These Factory Team steering block arms represent an official upgrade path for owners of the RC8 series buggies, offering a carefully calculated +2-degree geometry adjustment that transforms your vehicle's steering characteristics and Ackermann geometry. Whether you're competing at club level or pushing for podium finishes, these aluminium arms deliver the tuning flexibility that separates winners from the rest of the field.

As an authorised Associated stockist, RC Model Shop is proud to offer these genuine FT components to the UK RC community. The +2-degree configuration allows you to fine-tune your steering response, resulting in a smoother, more predictable steering feel compared to standard steering block arm sets. This geometry adjustment is particularly valuable when adapting your RC buggy to different track conditions, whether you're tackling high-grip clay surfaces or lower-grip asphalt layouts. The precision engineering behind these arms means they integrate seamlessly with your existing RC8B3.1 or RC8B3.2 setup without additional modifications or compatibility concerns.

Built to Factory Team standards, these steering arms combine robust aluminium construction with purposeful geometry that gives you confidence in every corner. For serious racers and dedicated bashers alike, investing in genuine Associated upgrades like these AS81063 arms is a straightforward way to unlock additional performance potential and achieve the handling balance your RC car deserves.

Key Features

  • Factory Team +2 Degree Geometry — The +2-degree specification provides an increased steering Ackermann angle compared to standard arms, which improves cornering response and delivers a noticeably smoother steering feel throughout the vehicle's range of motion, translating to better control on the track.
  • Premium Aluminium Construction — These arms are manufactured from quality aluminium material that offers an excellent balance of strength, rigidity and minimal weight savings, ensuring your steering response remains crisp and responsive without unnecessary mass.
  • Factory Team Official Upgrade — As an officially sanctioned FT option part from Associated, you're purchasing genuine factory components that meet the exacting standards required for competitive RC racing and are recognised across the UK RC racing community.
  • Precise Geometry for Tuning Flexibility — The dedicated +2-degree configuration gives you a distinct handling option beyond standard arms, allowing you to match your steering setup to specific track conditions, driving style and suspension geometry choices.
  • Seamless Compatibility — Designed specifically for RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2 platforms, these arms integrate perfectly with your existing driveline without requiring additional adapters or modifications, ensuring plug-and-play installation.
  • Clean, Purpose-Made Design — The arms feature a refined aesthetic that matches the factory look of your RC buggy while maintaining structural integrity and eliminating unnecessary material for consistent performance.

Technical Performance

These steering block arms represent the kind of precision engineering that Associated is renowned for throughout the global RC racing community. Manufactured from quality aluminium with careful attention to geometry and tolerances, they deliver the steering precision demanded by competitive racers. The +2-degree steering configuration increases the Ackermann geometry of your vehicle, which directly impacts how your RC buggy responds to steering input and navigates corners. This geometry adjustment results in a smoother steering feel when compared to standard steering block arms, giving you finer control and more predictable handling characteristics. The aluminium construction provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring that your steering response remains immediate and accurate without adding unnecessary mass to your front end. These arms are engineered to work in harmony with your RC8B3.1 or RC8B3.2 platform, maintaining the precise suspension geometry and steering linkage angles that Associated designed into these award-winning buggy chassis. Whether you're running on high-grip carpet tracks, outdoor clay surfaces, or competitive asphalt layouts across the UK, these arms give you the tuning flexibility to optimise your vehicle's handling balance and steering response for maximum performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which RC buggy models do these steering arms fit? — The AS81063 arms are designed specifically for the RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2, and are also compatible with RC8B3, RC8B3e, RC8T3, RC8T3e, RC8T3.1e, RC8T3.1, RC8B3.2e, RC8T3.2, RC8T3.2e, RC8B4, RC8B4e, RC8T4, RC8T4e, RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e variants, giving you broad compatibility across the modern Associated RC8 range.
  • What does +2 degree steering geometry actually do to my RC car? — The +2-degree specification increases the Ackermann angle of your steering system, which improves how the inside and outside tyres track through corners. This results in a smoother, more predictable steering feel and better overall cornering performance compared to standard steering block arms, particularly beneficial when you're pushing for consistent lap times.
  • Are these Factory Team arms suitable for beginners? — Whilst these are officially sanctioned Factory Team components, they are a direct upgrade replacement part that requires no special knowledge to install. However, they are primarily designed for racers and experienced enthusiasts who understand steering geometry and are actively tuning their RC buggy setup for competitive performance.
  • Why would I upgrade to +2 degree arms instead of keeping standard arms? — The standard arms provide a baseline geometry, but the +2-degree option gives you flexibility to fine-tune your steering response to match specific track conditions and your driving style. Many competitive racers find that the +2-degree geometry offers a sweet spot between steering responsiveness and corner exit traction, particularly on moderate to high-grip surfaces.
  • Is there a carbon fibre version available? — Yes, Associated also produces RC8B3 FT Steering Block Arms in +2-degree carbon fibre (SKU 81064), which offer similar geometry benefits with slightly different material characteristics if you prefer carbon fibre construction for weight savings and aesthetic purposes.
  • How difficult is it to install these arms? — Installation is straightforward if you have basic RC car maintenance experience. The arms are a direct replacement for your existing steering block arms, requiring only standard hex wrenches and screwdrivers. If you're unfamiliar with steering geometry adjustments, our team at RC Model Shop is happy to provide guidance or installation support.
