Overview
The Associated RC8B3 Brake Rotor (AS81037) is an essential replacement component for maintaining the braking system on your Associated RC8B3 buggy. Whether you're a serious RC enthusiast running your RC car in the UK or an experienced racer pushing your machine to its limits, reliable braking performance is absolutely critical for safety, control and competitive success. This OEM brake rotor is the genuine part specified by Associated for the RC8B3 platform, ensuring perfect fitment and optimal braking characteristics every time you take your buggy to the track or terrain.
Brake rotors are consumable items that wear down over time through regular use, racing and aggressive driving. When your existing rotor becomes worn, damaged, or shows signs of glazing, replacing it with an authentic Associated rotor restores your buggy's stopping power and precision braking response. This replacement rotor is designed specifically for the RC8B3, RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2 models, making it straightforward to source the correct component for your platform without confusion or compatibility concerns.
RC Model Shop stocks this genuine Associated spare as part of our comprehensive range of aftermarket upgrades and maintenance parts for popular RC buggies and off-road RC cars. We understand that competitive RC racing and regular bashing both demand reliable, high-quality spares that you can trust to perform consistently. The AS81037 brake rotor is ideal for routine maintenance schedules or emergency replacement when your current rotor is no longer serviceable.

Technical Performance
The Associated RC8B3 brake rotor is engineered to precise specifications that match the braking system architecture of the RC8B3 chassis family. As a critical component in the vehicle's stopping mechanism, the rotor must deliver consistent friction characteristics and thermal stability under the intense demands of competitive RC racing and aggressive terrain driving. Brake rotors experience significant wear through continuous friction cycles, and performance degrades gradually as the rotor surface becomes glazed or develops flat spots from aggressive braking inputs. The AS81037 is manufactured to OEM standards, ensuring it meets the exact dimensional tolerances, friction coefficient and material properties required for the RC8B3's braking system to function as originally engineered by Associated. When your existing rotor shows reduced braking response, longer stopping distances, or visible wear patterns, replacement with a genuine Associated rotor restores the buggy's braking performance to factory specifications. This is particularly important for competitive drivers who rely on precise, predictable braking modulation during high-speed cornering and race conditions, as well as for recreational bashers who demand reliable stopping power during outdoor off-road sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Associated RC8B3 Brake Rotor AS81037 a genuine OEM part? — Yes, the AS81037 is the authentic brake rotor component specified by Associated for the RC8B3, RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2 models. Purchasing genuine OEM spares ensures perfect compatibility and reliable performance compared to aftermarket alternatives that may not meet the original specifications.
- How often should I replace my RC buggy's brake rotor? — Brake rotors are consumable components that wear through normal use. Factors affecting replacement frequency include driving style, track surface, ambient temperature and intensity of use. Competitive racers may replace rotors more frequently than casual bashers. Inspect your rotor regularly for glazing, discolouration, flat spots or visible wear patterns, and replace when braking performance noticeably decreases.
- Will the AS81037 rotor fit my RC8B3.1 or RC8B3.2? — Yes, this rotor is explicitly designed for compatibility with the RC8B3, RC8B3.1 and RC8B3.2 chassis variants. However, we recommend confirming the exact part number in your model's manual before purchase to ensure you have the correct specification for your specific buggy generation.
- Do I need any special tools to install the brake rotor? — Installation procedures vary by model. Please refer to your Associated RC8B3 manual for detailed assembly instructions, tool requirements and torque specifications. If you're unfamiliar with brake system maintenance, we recommend consulting the official documentation or contacting our experienced team for guidance.
