Overview
The Team Associated RC10B6.4/T6.4 FR Top Plate & Mount Angled Carbon (AS71183) is a precision-engineered carbon fibre component set designed specifically for the RC10B6.4 and T6.4 platforms. This angled carbon front top plate and mount combination represents the kind of performance upgrade that serious RC enthusiasts and competitive racers seek when fine-tuning their 1/10 scale 2WD off-road buggies. Whether you're an experienced racer looking to optimise your setup or a dedicated hobbyist wanting to enhance your RC car's performance, this Factory Team component delivers the quality and precision you'd expect from Team Associated, the manufacturer with an unmatched legacy in 2WD buggy racing.
Team Associated has dominated the 2WD off-road racing scene since 1984, winning 12 of the 17 I.F.M.A.R. World Championships contested in this signature class—more victories than all other manufacturers combined. This heritage of championship-winning engineering extends to their Factory Team upgrade components, which are designed to give racers every advantage on the track. The angled carbon front top plate and mount represent the kind of meticulous attention to detail that defines Factory Team parts, offering improved geometry and optimised weight distribution for enhanced handling characteristics.
If you're building or upgrading a high-performance 1/10 scale 2WD RC buggy in the UK, this carbon component set provides the structural integrity and precision fit required for serious competition or advanced recreational racing. The angled design allows for fine-tuning of front-end geometry, which can significantly impact cornering performance, stability, and overall driveability across different track conditions.
Key Features
- Carbon Fibre Construction — The top plate and mount are manufactured from carbon fibre, providing exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio that reduces chassis flex whilst maintaining minimal additional weight, critical for maintaining the performance benefits of precision engineering in competitive RC racing.
- Angled Mount Design — The angled configuration allows racers to adjust the mounting angle of components, enabling fine-tuning of suspension geometry and chassis setup to suit specific track conditions, from high-grip carpet to dusty outdoor tracks.
- Factory Team Quality — These components are part of Team Associated's Factory Team upgrade line, engineered and tested by the same team responsible for World Championship-winning race buggies, ensuring reliability and performance you can trust.
- Precision Fit for RC10B6.4/T6.4 Platforms — Designed as a direct fit for both the RC10B6.4 and T6.4 models, this component ensures perfect alignment and integration with your existing chassis without requiring modification or fitting adjustment.
- Performance Upgrade Component — Unlike stock parts, this Factory Team upgrade is optimised for competitive racing applications, offering improved durability and performance characteristics that can provide measurable advantages during races.
- Lightweight Design Philosophy — Carbon fibre construction aligns with the modern RC racing trend towards weight reduction, allowing you to shave grams from your overall setup whilst maintaining structural integrity essential for high-performance driving.
Technical Performance
This carbon front top plate and mount assembly represents the engineering philosophy that has made Team Associated the most successful 2WD buggy manufacturer in off-road racing history. The use of carbon fibre throughout reflects decades of championship-level racing experience, where every gram counts and chassis rigidity directly impacts handling precision. The angled mount design is particularly significant for RC10B6.4/T6.4 platforms, as it enables adjustment of front-end geometry that affects everything from corner entry speed to mid-corner stability. The component is manufactured to Factory Team specifications, meaning it undergoes the same quality control and performance validation processes as parts used in World Championship-winning race machines. This level of engineering excellence extends to material selection, manufacturing tolerances, and finish quality. For racers competing in high-grip indoor carpet events, low-grip outdoor astroturf tracks, or anything in between, the ability to adjust chassis geometry through components like this angled mount can provide the competitive edge needed to consistently improve lap times and race results.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which RC10 models does the AS71183 carbon top plate fit? — This component is designed specifically for the RC10B6.4 and T6.4 platforms, providing perfect fitment without modification. These are separate model lines within the RC10 family, so compatibility is specifically engineered for these models rather than other RC10 variants.
- What advantage does carbon fibre provide over aluminium top plates? — Carbon fibre offers superior stiffness-to-weight ratio compared to aluminium, meaning you get enhanced rigidity for better handling precision whilst saving weight that can be deployed elsewhere in your setup. This is particularly valuable in competitive racing where every tenth of a gram contributes to overall performance.
- Is this part suitable for beginners? — This is an advanced upgrade component best suited for experienced racers and those with a solid understanding of RC chassis geometry and tuning. Beginners might benefit more from learning with stock components first, though this part is certainly valuable for anyone serious about progressing in competitive 2WD buggy racing.
- Can I use this angled mount on other RC10 generations? — No, this component is specifically engineered for the RC10B6.4 and T6.4 platforms. Using it on other RC10 models could result in fitment issues or compromised performance, so always verify compatibility when purchasing upgrade components.
- What makes Factory Team parts different from standard Team Associated components? — Factory Team parts are developed, tested, and validated by Team Associated's racing team and represent the same engineering specifications used in World Championship-winning race buggies. They offer enhanced performance characteristics, tighter tolerances, and superior durability compared to standard components, though they typically command a premium price reflecting this advanced development.
- How does the angled design improve handling? — The angled mount allows you to adjust the geometry of suspension components, which directly affects chassis ride height, anti-squat, and overall weight distribution. These adjustments can optimise cornering speed, stability during acceleration, and braking performance depending on your specific track conditions.
