Overview
The Team Associated AS6440 Shock Rebuild Kit is an essential maintenance component for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand peak performance from their Team Associated RC cars. This genuine service kit is specifically designed to rebuild and restore the damping performance of up to four shocks, making it a cost-effective solution for keeping your RC vehicle running at its best. Whether you're a competitive racer pushing your RC10 to its limits, a weekend basher enjoying the thrill of off-road driving, or a dedicated hobbyist maintaining a collection of classic and modern RC buggies and trucks, this rebuild kit represents genuine Team Associated engineering and quality control.
Maintaining your shock absorbers is crucial for consistent handling, predictable cornering, and overall chassis balance in any RC car, whether you're running a 1/10 scale buggy, a classic RC10, or one of the numerous modern Team Associated platforms. Shock seals degrade over time through regular use, leading to fluid loss, inconsistent damping, and ultimately compromised handling characteristics. The AS6440 rebuild kit provides everything needed to restore your shocks to factory specifications without the expense of purchasing entirely new units. This is the genuine Team Associated service kit trusted by competitors and serious hobbyists throughout the UK and beyond.
This rebuild kit is compatible with both Standard and Racing (PTFE-coated) Team Associated shocks, giving you flexibility in maintaining different shock types within your RC fleet. Whether you're restoring shocks on a B44, RC10T4.1, RC10B4.1, or any of the other compatible classic and contemporary Team Associated models, this kit delivers authentic Team Associated replacement components specified for the job.

- Professional-Grade Components — Team Associated rebuild kits contain seals and internal components manufactured to the same quality standards as factory shocks, ensuring genuine performance restoration rather than compromise.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated AS6440 Shock Rebuild Kit represents the engineering philosophy that has made Team Associated a leading manufacturer of precision RC vehicles for over five decades. Shock absorbers are among the most critical components in any RC car's suspension system, as they directly control how your vehicle responds to track surfaces, impacts, and directional changes. The damping fluid inside shocks gradually loses its effectiveness as seals wear, leading to reduced damping force, fluid leakage, and unpredictable handling characteristics that can compromise both speed and consistency. This rebuild kit contains replacement seals and internal components specifically engineered to restore shocks to their original specifications. Whether you're running Standard shocks designed for general-purpose driving or advanced Racing shocks with PTFE coatings that reduce friction for smoother damping curves, this kit provides the appropriate components for complete restoration. The rebuild process is straightforward enough for experienced enthusiasts to perform themselves, allowing you to save on servicing costs whilst maintaining factory-specification performance. For competitive racers, regular shock maintenance using genuine Team Associated rebuild kits is essential for maintaining the precise, predictable suspension geometry that separates champions from the pack. The kit's compatibility across the entire range of modern and classic Team Associated platforms — from the iconic RC10 through to the RC10B4.1 and RC10T4.1 competition platforms — reflects Team Associated's commitment to long-term support and the reliability of their engineering standards across their product lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use the Team Associated AS6440 to service shocks on any Team Associated RC car? — The kit is specifically designed for Standard and Racing (PTFE-coated) Team Associated shocks. It is confirmed compatible with Team Associated models including the B44, RC10T4.1, RC10B4.1, RC10B3, RC10DS, RC10T, RC10T3, RC10 Classic, RC10CC, and RC10 Classic 40th Anniversary. If you own a different Team Associated model, we recommend contacting our team to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
- How often should I rebuild my RC car shocks using this kit? — Regular shock maintenance depends on your usage level. Competitive racers typically rebuild shocks every few months during an active racing season to maintain consistent damping characteristics. Weekend bashers might rebuild shocks annually or as needed when handling becomes less predictable. If you notice your RC car's handling changing or suspect fluid leakage from shocks, it's time to rebuild.
- Is shock rebuilding difficult for someone new to RC car maintenance? — Rebuilding shocks requires some mechanical aptitude and careful attention to detail, but it is within the capability of most experienced RC enthusiasts. We recommend consulting your RC car's manual for shock disassembly procedures specific to your model. If you're new to RC maintenance, our team at RC Model Shop can offer guidance — feel free to contact us for advice or consider having your shocks professionally serviced.
- What is the difference between Standard and Racing PTFE-coated shocks? — Standard shocks are designed for general-purpose driving and offer good damping consistency for most driving conditions. Racing shocks feature PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coatings that reduce internal friction, providing smoother damping curves and more precise handling feedback — advantages that matter significantly in competitive racing but offer less practical benefit for casual bashers. The AS6440 rebuild kit works with both types.
- How many shocks can I rebuild with one kit? — This rebuild kit provides components to service four complete shocks, making it the perfect solution for rebuilding all shocks on a single RC vehicle or servicing shocks across multiple cars in your collection.
- Is this the genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, this is the genuine Team Associated AS6440 rebuild kit supplied directly from Team Associated. It is not an aftermarket alternative but rather the factory service kit specified for Team Associated shock maintenance.
