Technical Performance
The Team Associated AS6273 Ball Stud Set represents precision engineering at the component level. Ball studs are fundamental to RC car suspension and steering performance, serving as the connection points between the suspension arms, steering linkages, and the chassis. The .30 diameter specification provides the optimal balance between strength and lightness, critical for maintaining the responsive handling characteristics that Team Associated RC10 vehicles are renowned for. The extended length designation ensures that vehicles requiring longer ball ends maintain proper geometry angles, which directly impacts steering response, cornering grip, and overall stability during both high-speed racing and technical off-road driving. Made from durable materials with a silver finish that resists corrosion and oxidation, these ball studs maintain their integrity through repeated assembly and disassembly cycles, whether you're tuning your setup at the track or regularly servicing your RC car. The precision manufacturing ensures that each ball stud provides a snug, secure fit in the corresponding ball cups, eliminating unwanted play that could degrade handling precision and lead to unpredictable vehicle behaviour. For RC enthusiasts who understand that small component details significantly impact overall performance, the AS6273 represents the engineering quality you expect from Team Associated, one of the most respected names in competitive RC racing worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between extended and standard ball studs for RC cars? — Ball studs are available in different lengths to accommodate the specific geometry requirements of different suspension and steering linkage designs. Extended length ball studs like the AS6273 are required when your RC car's arms and links need greater reach to maintain proper suspension geometry angles and steering response. Using the correct length specification is essential for maintaining the handling characteristics your RC car was engineered to deliver.
- How do I know if I need replacement ball studs? — You should inspect your RC car's ball studs regularly, particularly after racing or bashing sessions. Look for visible wear, play when you gently wiggle the suspension arms, or pitting and corrosion on the ball end surface. If you notice loose steering response or vague handling, worn ball studs may be the culprit. These genuine Team Associated spares ensure you restore your car to factory specification performance.
- Are these compatible with all RC10 models? — The AS6273 is compatible with the RC10B3, RC10DS, RC10T, RC10T3, TC3, RC10 Classic, RC10CC, RC10 Classic 40th Anniversary, and the limited edition AS6002RR RC10 Worlds Car Race Roller. However, always verify in your vehicle's kit manual that the extended length specification is correct for your specific model, as some variants may require different ball stud dimensions.
- Why should I use genuine Team Associated spares instead of aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine OEM parts like the AS6273 are manufactured to the exact specifications and tolerances that Team Associated engineers designed your RC car around. Using authentic spares ensures perfect fit, proper geometry, and the performance characteristics your vehicle was engineered to deliver. Aftermarket substitutes may introduce dimensional variations that compromise handling precision and durability.
- How often should I replace my ball studs? — Ball stud replacement frequency depends on how intensively you use your RC car. Competitive racers may replace them regularly as part of scheduled maintenance. Recreational bashers should inspect them frequently and replace when wear becomes apparent. Environmental factors like moisture, sand, and salt can accelerate corrosion, so regular inspection is worthwhile for any RC10 owner.
- Can I install ball studs myself? — Yes, the AS6273 ball studs are straightforward to install for anyone with basic RC mechanical knowledge and standard tools. You'll need to remove the suspension arms or linkages, press out the old ball studs, and press in the new ones. If you're uncertain about the installation process, your kit manual provides detailed guidance, or the experienced team at RC Model Shop can provide friendly advice.
