Overview
The Team Associated Factory Team Silicone Shock 30wt (350cSt) 4oz/118ml (AS5472) is an essential maintenance fluid for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand consistent, reliable shock performance. Whether you're running a competition-grade RC buggy, truggy, or off-road truck, maintaining your suspension fluid at the correct viscosity is critical for predictable handling and consistent lap times. This premium silicone shock oil comes in a generously sized 4oz (118ml) bottle—double the size of standard offerings—giving you excellent value for money without sacrificing quality or performance.
Team Associated, one of the most respected manufacturers in the RC industry, has engineered this fluid to deliver the precise damping characteristics your suspension system requires. The clearly marked 30wt (350cSt) viscosity rating eliminates guesswork during setup and maintenance, ensuring your shocks perform identically across different vehicles and track conditions. For racers and club drivers who want more fluid on hand for workshop use, trackside maintenance, and spares without proportionally increasing costs, this upsized bottle represents exceptional value. RC enthusiasts in the UK have long trusted Team Associated's Factory Team range for dependable performance, and this shock fluid continues that tradition.
Available in stock from RC Model Shop, this silicone shock fluid is the smart choice for anyone serious about RC racing or recreational bashing. Whether you're preparing your RC car for competition or simply maintaining your hobby collection, having premium shock fluid readily available ensures you can make quick adjustments and fine-tune your setup whenever needed.

Technical Performance
Shock fluid is one of the most critical performance components in any RC car suspension system, and the viscosity rating directly affects how your vehicle handles on track. The 30wt (350cSt) specification of this Team Associated fluid positions it as a medium viscosity option suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles and driving conditions. The silicone formulation provides consistent damping across temperature ranges, which is particularly important in the UK where weather conditions can vary significantly throughout the year. Whether you're running a 1/10 scale off-road buggy, a 1/8 scale truggy, or any other RC car platform that requires suspension tuning, this fluid delivers the precise damping characteristics necessary for predictable handling. The 118ml volume ensures you have sufficient quantity for initial shock fills, maintenance top-ups, and experimenting with different viscosities to dial in your setup. Many competitive RC racers across the UK keep multiple viscosity options on hand, and this generous bottle size makes it economical to build a complete shock fluid inventory for your pit box or home workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is 30wt shock fluid and why does viscosity matter for RC cars? — Viscosity refers to the thickness of the shock fluid, measured in cSt (centistokes). The 30wt (350cSt) rating indicates a medium-weight fluid suitable for general RC racing and bashing. Thinner fluids (lower numbers) allow faster shock movement for soft, responsive suspension, whilst thicker fluids (higher numbers) provide more resistance for stiff, controlled damping. Choosing the correct viscosity is essential because it directly affects your car's handling characteristics, traction, and how the suspension responds to bumps and jumps.
- Can I use this shock fluid in any RC car? — Yes, this silicone shock fluid is compatible with any RC vehicle that uses oil-damped shocks, including buggies, trucks, truggies, and other off-road platforms from Team Associated and other manufacturers. However, always check your specific vehicle's manual to confirm the recommended viscosity range, as different cars and different track conditions may require different weights of shock fluid for optimal performance.
- Is this 30wt fluid suitable for beginner RC car users? — Absolutely. The 30wt viscosity is considered a versatile, medium-weight option that works well for recreational drivers and newcomers to RC racing. It provides a good balance between responsive handling and stable damping, making it an excellent starting point for someone learning suspension tuning. As you gain experience with RC cars and understand how viscosity affects performance, you may experiment with lighter or heavier fluids, but 30wt is a sensible foundation.
- Why is the 4oz bottle such good value compared to smaller sizes? — Team Associated has specifically upsized this bottle to 4oz (118ml) without proportionally increasing the price, effectively doubling the volume you receive. This makes it extremely economical if you maintain multiple RC cars, need to fill shocks regularly, or stock shock fluid in your workshop. Rather than buying several small bottles, this single 4oz bottle provides far better value and ensures you always have plenty on hand for maintenance and setup adjustments.
- How long does a 4oz bottle last? — This depends entirely on how many RC cars you own and how frequently you use them. A single 4oz bottle can fill multiple shock sets (a typical car might need 10-20ml depending on shock size), so one bottle could potentially service several vehicles or provide months of maintenance for an active RC enthusiast. Most racers and serious hobbyists find that having a 4oz bottle on hand eliminates the need for frequent reordering.
- Is silicone shock fluid better than mineral-based alternatives? — Silicone-based shock fluids, like this Team Associated product, generally offer superior performance in terms of temperature stability and consistency across varying conditions. The silicone formulation resists viscosity changes caused by temperature fluctuations, making your suspension performance more predictable whether you're racing in cool or warm conditions—an important consideration for UK RC racers who experience varied weather throughout the year.
- What is the difference between 30wt and other viscosity options? — Team Associated produces this shock fluid in multiple weights (typically ranging from lighter weights like 20wt to heavier options like 40wt or 50wt). The 30wt sits in the middle-weight range: lighter weights offer faster shock response and softer suspension feel, whilst heavier weights provide more resistance and stiffer damping. Your choice depends on track conditions, vehicle setup, and personal preference.
