Overview

The Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 6000cSt (AS5446) is a premium differential oil designed specifically for high-performance RC car racing and bashing. Developed by Team Associated's Factory Team, this laboratory-tested silicone fluid delivers consistent, predictable handling and reliable performance across a wide range of RC vehicles. Whether you're a serious racer competing in UK championships or a weekend basher pushing your RC car to its limits, this fluid provides the tuning precision and long service life you need to keep your differential running smoothly and efficiently.

Made exclusively in the USA by Lucas Oil Products, Inc. under the Team Associated brand, this differential fluid is manufactured to exacting standards that ensure consistent viscosity batch after batch. The 6000cSt viscosity rating sits in the mid-range of the Factory Team silicone fluid portfolio, making it an excellent choice for drivers seeking balanced differential performance in moderate to warm track conditions. This viscosity is particularly popular amongst RC enthusiasts in the UK who run vehicles like the RC10T5M and RC8B3, where reliable differential action is critical to maintaining competitive lap times and smooth handling characteristics.

The convenience factor has been significantly improved with the introduction of a new flip-top cap design that makes dispensing quick, tidy and mess-free. Combined with a helpful viscosity identification sticker on the lid, you can instantly identify which fluid you're using without having to search through your spares box or read small print during setup changes at the track.

Key Features

  • Premium Silicone Blend — Manufactured from the highest quality materials and laboratory-tested by Lucas Oil Products, Inc., this fluid provides a consistent, high-performance silicone blend that delivers more predictable differential action and extends the service life of your differential components, reducing maintenance downtime between races and bashing sessions.
  • 6000cSt Viscosity Rating — The 6000cSt rating provides a mid-range viscosity option that allows for finer differential tuning to match changing track conditions, driving styles and seasonal variations in temperature, giving you more control over your RC car's handling and cornering performance.
  • Consistent Viscosity — Made exclusively for Team Associated by Lucas Oil Products, Inc., the manufacturing process ensures that every bottle delivers exactly the same viscosity characteristics, so you can trust that your differential setup will perform identically from one racing session to the next without unwanted variations.
  • New Flip-Top Cap Design — The improved flip-top cap makes dispensing quick and tidy, eliminating spills and mess when servicing your differential, whilst allowing precise application into tight differential housing spaces on competition-grade RC buggies and off-road trucks.
  • Viscosity Identification Sticker — A helpful sticker on the lid allows you to quickly identify the fluid viscosity at a glance without having to read product labels or consult your setup notes, saving valuable time during multiple setup changes at the track or during testing sessions.
  • Expanded Tuning Options — This 6000cSt formulation is part of a wider Factory Team silicone fluid viscosity range, providing significantly more tuning options than previous generations and allowing you to dial in your differential performance with greater precision and control.
  • USA Manufacturing — Manufactured in the USA exclusively for Team Associated, the strict quality control and consistency standards ensure that this fluid meets the demanding requirements of professional race teams and serious hobbyists across the UK and internationally.

Technical Performance

The Associated Silicone Diff Fluid 6000cSt represents a significant advancement in differential tuning technology for RC cars. Factory Team Silicone Fluids are engineered from the highest quality materials and undergo rigorous laboratory testing to ensure consistent performance across varying track conditions and temperatures. The 6000cSt viscosity specification places this fluid in the ideal range for most modern competition RC vehicles, providing the perfect balance between differential lock-up and slip characteristics. When applied to vehicles such as the RC10T5M and RC8B3, this fluid helps maintain predictable handling and reliable performance during intensive racing or aggressive bashing. The silicone base ensures exceptional thermal stability, meaning the fluid maintains its viscosity characteristics even under the intense heat generated by high-speed cornering and extended racing sessions. The manufacturing process by Lucas Oil Products, Inc. guarantees batch-to-batch consistency, a critical requirement for competitive drivers who need to replicate setups and results across multiple racing events. Whether you're running on high-grip carpet surfaces, medium-grip asphalt, or challenging outdoor dirt tracks typical of UK RC racing venues, the 6000cSt viscosity provides excellent performance. The fluid's longevity means fewer differential services are required, reducing downtime and extending the life of critical differential components including spider gears, drive shafts and bearing assemblies.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What vehicles is the Associated 6000cSt diff fluid compatible with? — This fluid is specifically designed for Team Associated vehicles including the RC10T5M and RC8B3. However, it can be used in any RC car, buggy, truck or truggy that uses a standard differential, making it versatile across most modern RC competition and hobby vehicles sold in the UK.
  • How does 6000cSt viscosity compare to other diff fluid options? — The 6000cSt rating sits in the mid-range of the Factory Team silicone fluid portfolio. Thinner fluids (lower cSt) provide more slip and are suitable for high-grip carpet surfaces, whilst thicker fluids (higher cSt) provide more lock-up and are ideal for slippery outdoor tracks. The 6000cSt option provides a balanced middle ground that works well in moderate temperature conditions and on mixed-grip surfaces.
  • What is the difference between silicone and mineral differential fluids? — Silicone-based differential fluids like this product offer superior thermal stability, better consistency across temperature ranges, and longer service life compared to mineral-based alternatives. This makes silicone fluids the preferred choice for competitive racing and serious hobbyists who demand the highest performance and reliability.
  • How often should I change my differential fluid? — The frequency of fluid changes depends on usage intensity and environmental conditions. Intensive racing use may require fluid changes every 5-10 hours of running time, whilst casual bashing might only need servicing every 15-20 hours. Regular inspection of your differential and fluid condition is recommended to maintain optimal performance and component longevity.
  • Why is this fluid made by Lucas Oil Products, Inc.? — Team Associated chose Lucas Oil Products, Inc. as its exclusive manufacturer because of their reputation for precision manufacturing and quality control in the automotive fluid industry. This partnership ensures that every batch of Associated Factory Team fluid meets exact specifications for viscosity, thermal stability and performance characteristics.
  • Is the flip-top cap design an improvement over previous bottles? — Yes, significantly. The new flip-top cap eliminates spillage and mess during differential servicing, allows more precise application, and improves convenience when making quick setup changes at the track. Combined with the viscosity identification sticker, these improvements make differential tuning faster and more organised.
  • Does viscosity change with temperature? — All fluids experience some viscosity change with temperature. The 6000cSt rating is specified at a standard reference temperature. Silicone fluids like this product demonstrate superior thermal stability compared to mineral oils, meaning the viscosity change across temperature ranges is minimised, helping maintain consistent differential performance in varying UK weather conditions.
