Overview
The Team Associated Silicone Shock Oil 60Wt (800cSt) AS5436 is an essential maintenance fluid for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and reliable performance from their shock absorbers. Whether you're competing in club races, enjoying weekend bashing sessions, or fine-tuning your RC car for optimal handling, this professional-grade shock fluid delivers the consistent damping characteristics needed to keep your suspension performing at its best. Produced in the USA exclusively for Team Associated by the renowned Lucas Oil Products, this silicone shock oil represents a trusted choice for RC hobbyists who refuse to compromise on quality.
Shock oil selection is crucial for RC vehicle performance, as it directly affects suspension response, cornering stability, and overall handling characteristics. This 60 weight formulation provides the ideal viscosity for a vast range of Team Associated models, from competitive touring cars like the TC7.2 series to high-performance buggies such as the RC10B7, trail trucks including the Element Enduro range, and even specialist vehicles like the DC10 drift car. The 800 centistoke (cSt) rating ensures proper damping across various track conditions and driving styles, making it a versatile solution for both trackside adjustments and complete shock fluid changes during routine maintenance.
RC car UK enthusiasts appreciate that this fluid comes ready to use in a convenient 2 fluid ounce bottle, making it easy to store in your workshop, pit box, or RC hobby kit without taking up excessive space. The professional formulation means you're using the same specifications trusted by Team Associated factory racing teams and serious competitors worldwide.
Key Features
- 60 Weight Viscosity (800cSt) — This specific viscosity rating provides the optimal balance between fluid flow and damping resistance, ensuring your shock absorbers respond precisely to track conditions and chassis adjustments without being too thin or too thick for reliable performance.
- 2 Fluid Ounce Capacity — The generous bottle size allows multiple shock refills and replacement cycles, providing excellent value and reducing the frequency of reordering whilst maintaining a compact storage footprint in your workshop.
- Twist-to-Open Cap Design — The convenient twist-open closure provides quick access to the fluid without requiring additional tools or complicated opening mechanisms, allowing for rapid trackside adjustments and efficient maintenance during competitions.
- Seal Insert for Spill-Proof Transport — The integrated seal insert ensures the bottle remains completely leak-proof during travel to the track or when stored in your RC car bag, preventing messy spills that could damage other equipment or create unwanted fluid stains on your gear.
- Manufactured by Lucas Oil Products — Exclusively produced in the USA by Lucas Oil Products Inc., a globally recognised manufacturer of premium lubricants and automotive fluids, guaranteeing consistent quality and performance across every bottle.
- Team Associated Approved Formulation — This fluid is specifically formulated and approved for Team Associated vehicles, ensuring compatibility with all shock designs and damper assemblies across the entire Team Associated model range.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated 60Wt Silicone Shock Oil delivers professional-grade damping performance across an exceptionally wide range of RC vehicle platforms and driving conditions. The 800 centistoke viscosity specification sits in the mid-range of shock fluid options, making it the go-to choice for general-purpose tuning, track day use, and competitive racing where consistency and predictability are paramount. Silicone-based formulations offer superior temperature stability compared to mineral oils, meaning your shock response remains consistent whether you're racing during cool morning sessions or hot afternoon heats at your local UK RC club. The fluid's molecular structure provides excellent flow characteristics at lower temperatures whilst maintaining proper damping resistance in warmer conditions, eliminating the performance inconsistencies that can plague cheaper mineral-based alternatives. This makes it particularly valuable for serious racers and hobbyists who want their RC car to perform identically whether they're running on indoor carpeted surfaces or outdoor tarmac tracks. The professional Lucas Oil manufacturing process ensures every batch meets strict quality standards, with no watering down, contamination, or inconsistent batches that might affect your shock tuning between races. Whether you're adjusting shock oil viscosity to fine-tune your RC10B6 buggy's cornering behaviour, maintaining your trophy truck's suspension for technical rock crawling, or optimising your TC7.2 touring car for tight club competition tracks, this fluid delivers the reliability and performance expected by Team Associated factory teams and champion racers.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What viscosity shock oil do I need for my Team Associated RC car? — The 60Wt (800cSt) formulation is the standard choice for most Team Associated models including the RC10 series, TC7 touring cars, RC8 buggies, SC10 short course trucks, and many others. Consult your vehicle manual or the detailed compatibility list to confirm, though this weight is by far the most popular across the Team Associated range, making it an excellent starting point for new owners discovering shock tuning.
- Is silicone shock oil better than mineral oil for RC cars? — Yes, silicone-based shock fluids like this Team Associated product offer superior temperature stability, more consistent viscosity across varying conditions, and better protection against component wear compared to cheaper mineral-based alternatives. Professional racers and serious hobbyists prefer silicone oils because they deliver more predictable suspension response during competitions and track days.
- Can I use this shock oil in different Team Associated models? — This 60Wt formulation is compatible with an exceptionally broad range of Team Associated vehicles including touring cars (TC7.2, TC6.2), buggies (RC10B series, RC8B series), short course trucks (SC10 series), trail trucks (Enduro range, DR10), drift cars (DC10), and many specialist platforms. Always verify compatibility with your specific model's manual before use.
- How long does one bottle last? — A single 2 fl. oz. bottle provides enough fluid for multiple shock refills, depending on your shock reservoir size. Most RC shocks use between 5-15ml of fluid per chamber, meaning this bottle supplies enough for several complete shock changes or numerous trackside adjustments throughout a racing season.
- Is this product made in the UK? — No, this shock oil is manufactured in the USA exclusively for Team Associated by Lucas Oil Products Inc., ensuring worldwide consistency and adherence to Team Associated's exacting performance specifications.
- What makes this better than cheaper generic shock oils? — This Team Associated formulation is specifically engineered for compatibility with Team Associated shock designs and damper specifications, manufactured by Lucas Oil Products using professional-grade processes, and tested for consistency across every batch. Generic alternatives often vary in viscosity and may contain contaminants that negatively affect suspension tuning precision.
