Overview
The Team Associated Pan Car .020 Front Spring (Pr) AS4113 is a genuine OEM component designed specifically for Team Associated pan car applications. This matched pair of front springs represents the authentic choice for RC pan car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision tuning and reliable performance. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your setup at the track or a dedicated hobbyist looking to optimise your pan car's handling characteristics, these springs deliver the consistent performance you need to stay competitive.
Pan cars have become increasingly popular in the UK RC racing community, and for good reason—they offer exceptional speed, manoeuvrability and the satisfaction of dialling in your setup for maximum performance. The .020 spring rate designation indicates a specific stiffness level that influences how your front suspension responds to track conditions, grip levels and steering input. By choosing genuine Team Associated components like the AS4113, you ensure compatibility with your existing suspension geometry and maintain the engineering integrity that makes pan cars so rewarding to drive.
Supplied as a matched pair, these springs allow you to replace both front suspension points simultaneously, ensuring balanced handling and eliminating performance inconsistencies that can arise from mismatched components. This is a compact, durable option that deserves a place in every pan car racer's pit box, ready to support your setup adjustments as track conditions change throughout the day.
Key Features
- Matched Pair Design — Both springs are manufactured to identical specifications and paired together, ensuring balanced front-end behaviour and consistent steering response across both sides of your pan car chassis.
- .020 Spring Rate Designation — The .020 specification indicates this spring's stiffness and load curve, providing a specific handling characteristic that suits particular track conditions and driving styles for precise front-end tuning.
- Genuine Team Associated Component — Manufactured by Team Associated, the world-renowned RC engineering company, these are OEM parts engineered to exact tolerances for seamless integration with your pan car's suspension geometry.
- Pan Car Front Suspension Compatibility — Designed specifically for Team Associated pan car front suspensions, these springs integrate without modification and work harmoniously with your existing setup.
- Straightforward Handling Adjustment — These springs offer a direct method to refine steering response and overall balance, allowing you to optimise performance as track grip or weather conditions change throughout your racing day.
- Compact Pit Box Essential — Their small, durable design makes them ideal to carry in your pit box, ready to swap in when track conditions demand a setup adjustment.
- Professional-Grade Durability — Built to withstand repeated racing cycles and the demands of competitive and recreational pan car racing in the UK.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated AS4113 represents precision suspension engineering at its finest. Pan cars demand exacting standards because every fraction of a millimetre in suspension geometry affects handling balance, steering response and overall lap time. These .020 front springs are manufactured from high-quality steel with consistent material properties throughout, ensuring predictable behaviour across repeated compression and extension cycles. The spring rate of .020 places these in a specific performance window—stiffer than lighter rates but allowing more vertical compliance than heavier options—making them suitable for a range of track conditions and driving preferences. Team Associated's engineering ensures these springs maintain their load characteristics across temperature variations and extended racing sessions, a critical factor when you're competing at your local track in the UK or preparing for regional competitions. The springs integrate seamlessly into typical pan car front suspension setups, requiring no modification or additional components. Their consistent performance allows you to isolate variables when tuning your setup, making it easier to determine whether a handling change is due to spring rate adjustment or other setup factors like anti-roll bar stiffness or ride height.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the .020 spring rate mean and how do I know if I need this rate? — The .020 designation indicates the spring's stiffness or load curve. Choosing the correct spring rate depends on your track surface (grip level), your driving style and your chassis geometry. If your current setup feels too soft or too responsive in the front end, adjusting the spring rate can help. Team Associated offers multiple spring rates to suit different conditions, and the .020 is a common choice for balanced all-around performance. Contact our team at RC Model Shop for specific advice about which rate suits your racing situation.
- Are these compatible with all Team Associated pan cars? — These springs are designed for Team Associated pan car front suspensions. Compatibility is excellent with the range of Team Associated pan car models, but we recommend confirming your specific model's suspension type. Our team at RC Model Shop can help you verify compatibility before you order.
- Why should I buy a genuine Team Associated part rather than an aftermarket alternative? — Genuine OEM components are engineered to exact specifications using Team Associated's proprietary manufacturing processes. They ensure perfect integration with your chassis geometry, maintain the engineering balance of your suspension setup and offer consistent performance you can rely on during competitive racing. Aftermarket alternatives may offer a lower price but often sacrifice the precision fit and performance consistency that genuine parts provide.
- Can I mix spring rates on the front suspension? — Whilst it's technically possible, matching spring rates front-left and front-right ensures balanced handling. Using different rates would create steering bias and unpredictable behaviour. Always use a matched pair for your front suspension setup.
- How often should I replace my pan car springs? — Pan car springs are durable components that don't require frequent replacement under normal racing conditions. However, if you notice they've lost load (compressed more easily than before) or if your handling has changed significantly despite other setup adjustments, replacement springs may help restore your setup's balance. Keep spare springs in your pit box so you can adapt quickly to changing track conditions.
- What's the difference between this and other Team Associated spring rates? — Team Associated produces springs in multiple rates (.015, .020, .025 and others), each with a different stiffness. A .015 spring is softer and provides more vertical compliance, ideal for low-grip surfaces. A .025 spring is stiffer and better for high-grip conditions. The .020 is a mid-range option that works well for most UK track conditions and offers good all-around balance.
- Do I need special tools to install these springs? — Pan car spring installation is straightforward and typically requires only basic tools you'll already have in your pit box, such as screwdrivers and possibly small hex keys. Installation involves removing the old springs and fitting the new ones in the same locations—no modification required.
