Overview
The Team Associated Factory Team 5-Piece 1/4" Power Tool Bit Tips Set (AS1674) is an essential accessory for serious RC enthusiasts who maintain and build their own RC cars and trucks. This professionally designed hex bit set brings together the most popular metric hex sizes specifically chosen for nitro vehicle construction, maintenance and repair work. Whether you're a dedicated competitor running 1/8 scale nitro buggies, or a weekend basher maintaining your RC car UK collection, this hardened tip set is engineered to handle the demands of power tool work on high-performance RC vehicles.
Unlike standard hobby screwdrivers, these hardened tips are specifically designed for use in power tools and impact drivers, making them ideal for heavier maintenance tasks that would quickly wear out softer tools. The set includes both standard hex and ball end variants, giving you maximum versatility when working on different fastener types across your RC fleet. A convenient storage case is included to keep all five tips organised and protected when not in use, ensuring your tools stay in perfect condition for years of reliable service.
Compatible with 1/4" hex drive power screwdrivers and the Associated Factory Team handle (ASC1656), this bit set works perfectly alongside your existing RC workshop tools. The team at RC Model Shop has selected this product as a must-have accessory for any serious RC model builder in the UK who wants professional-grade tools matched to their RC hobby needs.
Key Features
- Five Precision Hex Bits — The set includes one 1.5mm standard hex tip, one 2.5mm standard hex tip, one 5/64" standard hex tip, one 2.5mm ball end tip, and one 5/64" ball end tip, covering the most essential sizes needed for RC car maintenance and assembly work.
- Hardened Tips for Power Tool Use — Unlike standard hobby screwdriver tips, these bits are manufactured with hardened steel that withstands the higher torque and stress of power drills and impact drivers, making them perfect for demanding tasks on 1/8 scale nitro vehicles and other high-performance RC models.
- Ball End and Standard Hex Options — The inclusion of both standard hex and ball end tips provides flexibility when accessing fasteners at different angles, allowing you to work efficiently whether fasteners are perfectly aligned or positioned awkwardly on your RC vehicle.
- 1/4" Drive Compatibility — These tips feature a 1/4" drive connection, ensuring compatibility with standard power tool sockets and the Associated Factory Team handle (ASC1656), integrating seamlessly into your existing RC workshop setup.
- Protective Storage Case — A dedicated storage case is included to organise and protect all five bits, keeping your tools safe from damage and easy to locate whenever you need them for your next RC maintenance session.
- Professional Grade Quality — Manufactured by Team Associated, a leading name in precision RC engineering, these bits deliver the reliability and durability expected by competitive RC racers and serious hobby builders across the UK.
Technical Performance
The TEAM ASSOCIATED FACTORY TEAM 5-PIECE 1/4" POWER TOOL TIPS SET represents a significant step up from standard hobby screwdrivers when tackling heavy-duty RC vehicle maintenance. Each bit has been precision-engineered and hardened to withstand the repetitive high-torque demands of power tool usage, particularly when working on 1/8 scale nitro vehicle assembly and maintenance tasks that would quickly destroy softer tools. The five-piece configuration strategically includes 1.5mm, 2.5mm, and 5/64" (2.0mm equivalent) sizes in both standard hex and ball end configurations, ensuring you have the right tool for virtually any fastener encountered in modern RC vehicle construction. The 1/4" drive design is the industry standard for power tools, providing excellent compatibility with modern cordless drills and impact drivers whilst also working perfectly with the dedicated Associated Factory Team handle for manual precision work when power tools aren't appropriate. The inclusion of ball end tips is particularly valuable, as these allow you to drive fasteners that are slightly misaligned or positioned at shallow angles, a common situation when working on compact RC vehicles where space is at a premium. Built to professional standards by Team Associated, these bits deliver the durability and precision expected by competitive racers and serious RC hobbyists throughout the UK who demand the very best tools for their collection of RC buggies, trucks, and specialist vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use these power tool bits with my manual screwdriver handle? — Yes, these bits are fully compatible with the Associated Factory Team 1/4" drive handle (ASC1656), allowing you to use them as precision manual screwdrivers when power tools aren't appropriate. The hardened tips are designed to handle both power tool and manual use, making them incredibly versatile for your RC workshop.
- What vehicles can I use this bit set with? — Team Associated has engineered this set to work with an extensive range of their RC vehicles including 1/8 scale nitro models (TC5, TC6, TC6.2, RC8.2 series), electric touring cars (TC7, TC7.2, RC10B5 series), off-road vehicles (Enduro, Gatekeeper, Trophy Rat, Dr10), short course trucks (SC10, ProSC10, RC10SC5M), and rock crawlers (SR10, Pro4 SC10, RB10). If you own any Association RC vehicle, this set is likely to be compatible.
- Are these tips suitable for beginners? — Whilst these hardened power tool bits are designed for more demanding maintenance work, they're also excellent for any RC hobbyist who wants professional-grade tools. Beginners who are serious about maintaining their RC cars will appreciate the durability and quality, though casual users might find a standard hobby screwdriver set sufficient for basic assembly work.
- Why do I need both standard hex and ball end tips? — Standard hex tips offer maximum contact for secure driving, whilst ball end tips allow you to approach fasteners at slight angles—invaluable when working on compact RC vehicles where space is extremely tight. Having both options means you're prepared for any fastener configuration your RC car might present.
- How do I store these bits safely? — The protective storage case included in the box keeps all five bits organized, protected from damage, and easy to locate. Store the case in a dry location in your RC workshop to ensure your tools remain in perfect condition for years of use.
- What is the difference between 1/4" drive and other hex drive sizes? — The 1/4" drive is the industry standard for power tools and professional-grade screwdrivers, offering the ideal balance between torque capacity and precision control. It's larger than the 1/8" hobby drives found on basic screwdrivers, making it compatible with serious workshop equipment whilst still remaining manageable for detailed RC work.
