Overview
The Associated FT Aluminium Clamping Servo Horn 25T 15.5mm (AS1370) is a precision-engineered replacement servo horn designed specifically for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive drivers running Associated 6-series off-road vehicles. Whether you're piloting an RC10B6, RC10B7, RC10T series, or any compatible Associated platform, this servo horn upgrade delivers measurable improvements to steering feel and response. Built from premium 7075 T6 aluminium, this component represents the quality standards you'd expect from a Factory Team product, and it's an essential upgrade for anyone looking to fine-tune their RC car's handling characteristics.
This isn't a casual aftermarket part — it's genuine Associated Factory Team equipment used by competitive drivers who demand precision and reliability. If you're serious about your RC off-road racing in the UK, you'll recognise that servo horn selection plays a crucial role in how your vehicle responds to steering input. The 15.5mm length specification is deliberately engineered to provide smoother steering response compared to longer alternatives, making it an ideal choice for drivers who want improved feel and control during competitive runs or challenging terrain.
The servo horn comes ready to install with a large M2.5 mounting screw and features laser-etched identification of the 25T spline size, ensuring you always know exactly what you're working with. This level of attention to detail is typical of Associated's approach to RC component design.
Key Features
- 7075 T6 Aluminium Construction — This premium aluminium alloy is specifically chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio and durability, providing a rigid servo horn that won't flex under load while keeping your RC car's weight distribution optimal for balanced handling.
- Clamping Design with Large M2.5 Screw — The clamping mechanism ensures a secure, repeatable connection to your servo spline, while the oversized M2.5 screw provides excellent holding power and makes installation and removal straightforward without requiring specialist tools.
- 25T Spline Configuration — This servo horn features a 25-tooth spline pattern that's compatible with Futaba and Savox servo specifications, the industry standard for mid-range and high-performance RC servos used in competitive off-road racing.
- Laser-Etched Spline Identification — The laser-etched marking clearly displays the 25T spline size directly on the horn, providing positive identification at a glance so there's no confusion when switching between different servo horn sizes or configurations.
- 15.5mm Length for Smoother Steering — This specific length has been engineered by Associated to deliver noticeably smoother steering response compared to longer servo horns, translating to more progressive steering feel and better driver control during high-speed manoeuvres and technical cornering.
- Factory Team Quality Standard — As part of Associated's Factory Team range, this servo horn meets the same rigorous quality standards used by professional racing teams, ensuring consistency, reliability and performance you can depend on.
- Genuine Associated Part — This is an official Associated Electrics component, not a copy or aftermarket substitute, guaranteeing proper fitment and compatibility with your RC10 series vehicle.
Technical Performance
The Associated FT Aluminium Clamping Servo Horn represents a significant step up from standard plastic servo horns commonly found on stock RC cars. The 7075 T6 aluminium alloy used in its construction is an aerospace-grade material chosen specifically for its exceptional strength, rigidity and resistance to fatigue. Unlike plastic alternatives that can flex or warp under steering loads, this aluminium horn maintains perfect alignment through hundreds of charging cycles and competitive runs. The rigid construction means your steering inputs translate directly to wheel movement without any lost motion or compliance, which is absolutely critical when you're pushing your Associated 6-series off-road vehicle to its limits on UK tracks or in competitive environments. The 15.5mm length has been meticulously engineered to optimise the servo's mechanical advantage and steering response characteristics — longer horns provide more torque but reduce feel, whilst shorter horns feel twitchier. This 15.5mm specification hits the sweet spot for smooth, controllable steering that competitive drivers prefer. The laser-etched spline identification isn't just a convenience feature; it's a practical safety measure that ensures you're always using the correct spline size for your servo type, preventing potential servo damage or improper fitment. Installation is straightforward thanks to the large M2.5 clamping screw, which provides sufficient holding force to resist the twisting loads generated during aggressive cornering whilst remaining accessible with standard hex drivers.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this servo horn suitable for my Associated RC car? — Yes, this servo horn is specifically engineered for Associated 6-series off-road vehicles. If you own an RC10B6 series, RC10B7 series, RC10T series, RC10SC series or RB10, this horn will fit your vehicle. The manufacturer has tested compatibility with over 20 different Associated platform variants, so it's highly likely to be correct for your model. Check the compatibility list above to confirm your specific vehicle is listed.
- What does the 25T spline mean, and will it fit my servo? — The 25T refers to the number of teeth on the spline, which is the connection point where the servo horn attaches to your servo's output shaft. Most mid-range and competition RC servos use either 23T or 25T splines. The Reedy servo range commonly paired with Associated vehicles uses 25T splines, so this horn is ideal if you're running Reedy or compatible Futaba/Savox servo patterns. If you're unsure about your servo's spline count, check your servo documentation or contact our team at RC Model Shop for clarification.
- Why is the 15.5mm length important for steering response? — The servo horn length directly affects steering feel and responsiveness. A longer horn provides more mechanical advantage and steering torque but can feel sluggish and over-damped. The 15.5mm length specified by Associated engineers represents the optimal balance for smooth, progressive steering feel without the twitchiness of shorter horns. Competitive drivers consistently report that this length delivers the most controllable steering feel across a wide range of track conditions and driving styles.
- How does aluminium compare to plastic servo horns? — Aluminium servo horns offer superior rigidity, durability and consistent performance compared to plastic alternatives. Plastic horns can flex under load, leading to lost steering input and inconsistent feel lap to lap. The 7075 T6 aluminium used here is aerospace-grade material that maintains perfect alignment even during aggressive cornering and high-speed runs. For competitive RC drivers, the performance difference is immediately noticeable and often translates to faster lap times and improved consistency.
- Is this a difficult upgrade to install? — No, installation is straightforward. The servo horn simply clamps onto your existing servo spline using the provided large M2.5 screw. You'll need a standard hex driver, and the process typically takes just a few minutes. If you're familiar with basic RC car maintenance, you'll have no issues. Simply loosen the clamping screw, slide the horn onto the servo spline, align it to your desired steering position, and tighten the screw securely.
- Does this upgrade really improve handling? — Yes, upgrading to a quality aluminium servo horn can noticeably improve your RC car's steering response and overall handling feel. Competitive drivers and professionals use Factory Team servo horns like this one because the performance difference is measurable and repeatable. You'll experience smoother, more progressive steering input and improved consistency across multiple runs, which translates to better control and faster lap times on UK RC tracks.
- Will this fit other brands of RC cars? — This servo horn is specifically designed for Associated vehicles and the 25T spline pattern. Other brands typically use different spline configurations, so this horn won't directly fit non-Associated vehicles unless they happen to use the same 25T spline pattern. For non-Associated RC cars, you'll need a servo horn designed specifically for your vehicle's spline type.
