Overview

The Associated FT Aluminium Clamping Servo Horn 23T 15.5mm (AS1369) is a precision-engineered replacement part designed for competitive RC car enthusiasts and serious hobbyists running Team Associated 6-series off-road vehicles. Whether you're upgrading your RC buggy, truggy, or short course truck, this servo horn delivers the reliability and performance expected from Factory Team components. This premium aluminium servo horn is specifically crafted to enhance steering response and provide a secure, durable connection between your servo and steering linkage on RC cars equipped with 23-tooth spline servo outputs.

Built from premium 7075 T6 aluminium, this servo horn represents the gold standard for RC off-road platforms seeking improved handling characteristics. The clamping design with a large M2.5 screw ensures your servo stays firmly connected during aggressive driving, whether you're racing at your local track or bashing in the garden. For UK RC enthusiasts looking to upgrade their Team Associated models or replace a worn servo horn, this Factory Team component offers genuine quality assurance and the precision fit you'd expect from an authorised parts supplier.

The 15.5mm length is specifically engineered to provide smoother steering response compared to longer alternatives, making it an ideal choice for drivers seeking refined steering characteristics on their RC buggy or off-road competition vehicle. If you're serious about getting the best performance from your Team Associated RC car setup, the Associated FT Aluminium Clamping Servo Horn is the upgrade you've been looking for.

Key Features

  • 7075 T6 Aluminium Construction — This premium aluminium alloy is renowned in the RC and aerospace industries for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, meaning your servo horn will withstand the demanding forces of aggressive steering inputs whilst remaining lightweight enough not to add unnecessary weight to your RC car's frontend.
  • 23-Tooth Spline Design — The 23T spline is compatible with standard Sanwa and JR servo outputs, two of the most popular servo brands used in competitive RC off-road racing, ensuring seamless integration with your existing servo equipment.
  • Laser-Etched Spline Size Marking — Each horn features a laser-etched marking indicating the spline count, eliminating any guesswork when selecting the correct horn size for your servo and making it easy to identify at a glance, especially valuable if you maintain multiple RC vehicles.
  • Clamping Design with Large M2.5 Screw — Rather than relying on friction fit alone, this horn uses a mechanical clamping system with a generous M2.5 screw that compresses the horn onto the servo spline, providing rock-solid connection security and preventing any rotational slippage during hard cornering or high-speed manoeuvres.
  • 15.5mm Optimised Length — The 15.5mm horn length is specifically engineered to provide smoother steering response across a wider range of steering angles, offering better feel and more predictable handling characteristics compared to longer servo horns, particularly valuable for precision driving and competitive racing on RC tracks.
  • Factory Team Quality Assurance — As an official Factory Team (FT) component from Associated Electrics, this part meets the exacting standards set by the company's racing division, meaning you're getting components proven and trusted in competitive racing environments.

Technical Performance

The Associated FT Aluminium Clamping Servo Horn is engineered with the precision and durability demanded by serious RC off-road competitors. The 7075 T6 aluminium specification is specifically chosen for its exceptional rigidity and fatigue resistance—critical properties when your servo horn must transmit steering forces through thousands of steering cycles without deflection or failure. The material is lightweight yet substantially stronger than standard aluminium alloys, ensuring minimal flex even under extreme steering loads. The clamping mechanism using a large M2.5 screw provides mechanical locking rather than relying solely on friction, preventing the horn from loosening during high-intensity racing or aggressive bashing sessions. The 15.5mm length has been specifically optimised for 6-series Team Associated vehicles, including platforms such as the B6.4, B6.3, SC6, and T6 series, where this dimension provides the ideal balance between steering leverage and response characteristics. The laser-etched marking ensures positive identification and makes it impossible to accidentally install an incorrectly-sized horn. For UK-based RC racers and enthusiasts running Team Associated off-road buggies and trucks, this servo horn represents a genuine upgrade that delivers measurable improvements in steering feel and reliability during competitive racing or weekend bashing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this servo horn compatible with my Team Associated RC car? — This 23-tooth clamping servo horn is designed for Team Associated 6-series off-road vehicles equipped with Sanwa or JR servo outputs featuring 23-tooth splines. Check your current servo specifications to confirm compatibility; most modern Team Associated buggies and trucks in the B-series and T-series ranges use 23T servo outputs. If you're unsure about your vehicle's servo type, contact our team at RC Model Shop and we can advise you on the correct fitment.
  • What is the advantage of the clamping design over push-on servo horns? — The clamping design used on this horn provides superior security compared to simple push-on horns. Rather than relying entirely on friction between the horn and servo spline, the large M2.5 screw mechanically locks the horn in place, preventing any possibility of rotational slippage during hard cornering, high-speed driving, or aggressive steering inputs. This mechanical security is especially important for competitive racers who demand absolute reliability.
  • Why does the 15.5mm length provide smoother steering response? — The 15.5mm length is an optimised dimension for Team Associated 6-series vehicles, providing the ideal balance between steering leverage and response speed. Shorter horns offer quicker response but require more servo torque; longer horns provide more leverage but can feel sluggish. The 15.5mm dimension has been engineered by Factory Team engineers to deliver the sweet spot for steering feel and control on these platforms.
  • Is this horn suitable for both racing and casual bashing? — Absolutely. Whether you're competing at your local RC track or enjoying recreational bashing in the garden, this servo horn will provide reliable performance. The premium 7075 T6 aluminium construction means it will withstand the demands of both competitive racing and casual driving without degradation.
  • How difficult is it to install this servo horn? — Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance knowledge. Simply remove the old horn by loosening the M2.5 screw, slide the new horn onto your servo spline in the correct orientation, and tighten the M2.5 screw firmly. Most users can complete installation in under five minutes with basic hex tools.
  • What makes 7075 T6 aluminium better than standard aluminium? — 7075 T6 aluminium is an aerospace-grade alloy known for exceptional strength and rigidity whilst maintaining low weight. The T6 designation refers to a specific heat treatment process that maximises hardness and fatigue resistance. This material is significantly stronger than standard 6061 or 5052 aluminium, meaning your servo horn will resist bending and deformation under the high steering loads experienced during competitive RC racing.
