Overview
The RC Overhaul Aluminium Drag Link Set in Black for the Axial SCX30 (G-RCO-AX048) is a premium suspension upgrade designed for RC enthusiasts who demand precision and durability from their RC crawler or trail truck. Whether you're a dedicated RC hobbyist in the UK exploring the world of scale rock crawling, or an experienced basher looking to enhance your SCX30's handling characteristics, this aluminium drag link set delivers the rigidity and performance you need. Drag links are a critical component of your RC car's steering and suspension geometry, and upgrading to a full aluminium option eliminates flex that can compromise steering response and overall vehicle control on technical terrain.
Manufactured by RC Overhaul, a recognised name in the RC upgrade and tune-up market, this drag link set represents a straightforward yet effective way to improve your SCX30's performance. The black anodised aluminium finish not only looks professional and polished when fitted to your rig, but also provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard steel alternatives. The RC Overhaul logo is etched into the links themselves, adding a touch of quality branding to your custom build. This is exactly the kind of upgrade that separates a carefully maintained RC vehicle from an off-the-shelf model, making it an ideal choice for anyone serious about their RC car UK setup.
Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance experience, and this part functions as an option upgrade—meaning it's designed to fit your existing SCX30 platform without requiring additional structural modifications. When you need an aluminium drag link set that keeps your parts list consistent, easy to reference during maintenance or custom projects, and delivers genuine performance improvements, the RC Overhaul G-RCO-AX048 is the logical choice for your SCX30 build.
Key Features
- Full Aluminium Construction — These drag links are machined from solid aluminium rather than plastic or composite materials, which means they offer zero flex under load and during hard cornering, ensuring your steering inputs translate directly to vehicle movement without any lost motion or unpredictable handling behaviour.
- Black Anodised Finish — The professional black anodised coating provides excellent corrosion resistance, protecting the aluminium from oxidation and wear, whilst also delivering a clean, finished appearance that looks the business when fitted to your SCX30 rig and enhances the overall aesthetic of your custom build.
- Purpose-Built for SCX30 Compatibility — These links are specifically designed and tested for Axial SCX30 applications, ensuring perfect fit and alignment without modification, and maintaining the correct steering geometry for optimal handling on rocks, trails, and technical terrain.
- RC Overhaul Quality and Branding — The RC Overhaul logo is etched directly into the links, serving as both an identifier of quality engineering and a mark of authenticity that tells you these are genuine upgrade parts designed by engineers who understand RC vehicle dynamics.
- Enhanced Steering Response — By eliminating flex and deflection in the drag link assembly, you'll experience noticeably tighter, more responsive steering input, which is particularly valuable when navigating tight turns, rock gaps, and technical trial sections where precision control matters.
- Ideal for Hard Twisty Trials — The rigid aluminium construction is specifically engineered for demanding trail driving, keeping steering geometry consistent when powering through rocky terrain, side slopes, and challenging obstacles without deflection or geometry changes that could upset vehicle balance.
Technical Performance
The RC Overhaul Aluminium Drag Link Set represents a significant engineering upgrade over standard plastic or composite steering linkages. Drag links are essential suspension components that directly connect your steering servo to the front axle steering system, controlling how your RC vehicle responds to steering input. When manufactured from aluminium rather than plastic, these links provide absolute rigidity with zero flex, which means steering geometry remains perfectly consistent regardless of terrain conditions, vehicle speed, or the lateral forces acting on your SCX30 during climbing, descending, or cornering. The black anodised finish isn't merely cosmetic—anodising is an electrochemical process that creates a protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface, dramatically improving corrosion resistance and surface hardness while maintaining the component's lightweight properties. This finish is particularly important for RC vehicles regularly exposed to moisture, mud, sand, and other environmental factors common in UK outdoor RC driving. The material choice and manufacturing process reflect RC Overhaul's commitment to delivering components that maintain their performance characteristics and appearance throughout seasons of use. For users pushing their SCX30 through demanding rock crawling sections, technical trials, or aggressive trail driving, these rigid links ensure that every steering input from your transmitter is executed with absolute precision, without the delayed or uncertain responses that characterise plastic linkages under stress.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the RC Overhaul Aluminium Drag Link Set improve my SCX30's steering response? — Yes, significantly. By eliminating the flex and deflection inherent in plastic drag links, this aluminium upgrade ensures that steering input is transmitted instantly and precisely to your front axle, resulting in noticeably tighter vehicle control and more accurate steering response, which is particularly valuable on technical terrain where precision matters.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is an excellent upgrade component, it's best suited for RC enthusiasts who already have basic maintenance and installation experience. Installation requires understanding your SCX30's steering geometry and suspension assembly. Beginners may benefit from having an experienced RC hobbyist assist with fitting, or from starting with more fundamental driving skills before upgrading to performance components.
- How does aluminium compare to plastic drag links? — Aluminium offers several advantages over plastic: it provides absolute rigidity with zero flex under load, ensuring consistent steering geometry; it resists corrosion and weather damage significantly better than plastic; and it maintains its dimensional tolerances over extended use, whereas plastic can degrade and become brittle. The trade-off is that aluminium components are heavier, though for a drag link set the weight difference is minimal and performance gains typically outweigh the marginal increase.
- What is the part number and where can I find compatibility information? — The part number is G-RCO-AX048, and this set is specifically designed for Axial SCX30 platforms. The EAN barcode is 5055320233916. This is an option part, meaning it's designed to fit your existing SCX30 without structural modifications, though correct installation requires basic RC maintenance knowledge.
- Can I use these on other RC vehicles? — These drag links are purpose-engineered for the Axial SCX30 and fitment is not recommended for other platforms without verification of compatibility. Using them on non-compatible vehicles could result in incorrect steering geometry, poor handling, and potential mechanical failure.
- Do these links require any special maintenance? — The black anodised aluminium finish is very low-maintenance. Periodic cleaning with fresh water after muddy or sandy driving sessions is recommended to prevent debris accumulation. The anodised coating is durable and doesn't require additional treatment or protection, making these links virtually maintenance-free compared to raw aluminium components.
