Technical Performance
The FTX UTAH 2.0 represents a serious engineering effort to deliver professional-grade rock crawling performance in a compact, accessible format. At its heart sits the Hobbywing WP-Mini24 brushless system, a 25A electronic speed controller paired with an efficient brushless outrunner motor that delivers consistent torque across the entire throttle range. The 2-speed metal geared transmission, operated via servo control, allows seamless transitions between low-speed crawling (perfect for technical terrain) and high-speed travel (ideal for open trails), with full-time 4WD drive ensuring power reaches all four wheels at all times. The included 7.4V 2S 500mAh LiPo battery provides adequate runtime for extended play sessions, though users will appreciate the smooth throttle characteristics that this brushless system delivers without the cogging or dead-spot issues common in brushed alternatives. The servo-on-axle steering setup with metal-geared 9g servos offers precision steering that's simply not available in traditional steering linkage systems at this scale, whilst the high-clearance portal axles with full metal gears throughout ensure durability during aggressive crawling. The 8-link suspension with oil-filled shocks and the low centre of gravity aluminium chassis work together to maintain excellent ground contact and stability even on severely angled terrain. The 162mm wheelbase is optimally proportioned for the 1:18 scale, balancing climbing capability with manoeuvrability in tight spaces. Materials throughout reflect quality engineering — metal outdrives, telescopic centre driveshafts with steel cups, metal servo horns, and full metal gearing in both transmission and axles ensure this crawler can handle extended use without premature wear. This is a genuine, ready-to-run brushless RC crawler UK buyers can confidently operate right out of the box.
