DETAILS
The X-Maxx MT Chassis is an X-Truck scale Monster Truck platform engineered for a top speed exceeding
50 mph when equipped with dual
4s LiPo batteries and the included optional pinion gear.
High-Output Power System
Propulsion is generated by the Velineon 1200XL brushless motor, a 4-pole 1275 Kv unit featuring a 5 mm output shaft and dual motor cooling fans. This system is managed by the waterproof VXL-8s electronic speed control, which is compatible with up to 8s LiPo power. The ESC is fitted with machined heat sinks, an integrated cooling fan, and is wired with 10-gauge silicone wire.
Drivetrain Engineering
Torque is transferred through a full-time, shaft-driven four-wheel drive system. The driveline incorporates a splined aluminium centre driveshaft connected to a Torque-Biasing Centre Drive unit, which distributes power and absorbs driveline shocks. Sealed, silicone fluid-filled differentials contain large module ring and pinion gears. The primary gear set consists of a machined, hardened steel pinion and spur gear with a 1.0 metric pitch. Power is delivered to the wheels via heavy-duty steel CV driveshafts and machined aluminium stub axles, which connect to 24 mm splined wheel hexes.
Suspension Dynamics and Chassis Construction
The vehicle is constructed upon a heavy-duty modular composite chassis with interlocking front and rear bulkheads. A fixed motor mounting system with rigid aluminium motor mounts secures the motor directly to the rear bulkhead to reduce chassis flex at the gear mesh. Suspension control is provided by four oil-filled Aluminium GTX Shocks, which feature machined aluminium threaded bodies and 5.2 mm damper shafts. These connect to heavy-duty suspension arms that utilise double-shear connections and high-strength steel suspension pins throughout their assembly. Directional control is actuated by a high-output, metal-gear steering servo which produces 450 oz-in of torque. The chassis is equipped with 8.6-inch belted chevron-pattern tyres; their internal belting is designed to reduce ballooning during high-speed operation.
