Overview
The Futaba Alloy Single Servo Arm 20mm (0.8") in red is a precision-engineered aluminium servo arm designed for RC enthusiasts who demand quality and reliability in their control linkages. Whether you're building a competitive RC car UK setup, fine-tuning a custom RC crawler, or upgrading your existing radio control system, this compact servo arm delivers the durability and performance you need. Futaba has been leading the way in radio control since 1962, and this beautifully crafted component reflects decades of expertise in servo technology and linkage design.
This single servo arm is the perfect choice when your installation calls for a short, neat reach without compromising on strength or precision. The 20mm length makes it ideal for applications where space is limited but control accuracy is paramount. With its striking red finish and robust aluminium construction, this servo arm combines aesthetic appeal with practical engineering, making it a popular choice among hobbyists aged 14 and over who are serious about their RC hobby.
If you're setting up a ready to run RC system or customising an existing build, having the right servo arm is critical to achieving smooth, responsive control. The Futaba Alloy Single Servo Arm 20mm gives you the short reach you need whilst maintaining the strength and precision that separates good RC performance from great RC performance. This is not just a spare part—it's an investment in your RC experience.
Key Features
- Compact 20mm (0.8 inch) Length — At just 20mm long, this servo arm is designed for installations where space is at a premium, such as tight servo bays or linkage systems with limited clearance, making it ideal for precision builds where every millimetre matters.
- Durable Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from high-quality aluminium alloy, this servo arm is built to withstand the stresses of regular RC use whilst remaining lightweight, ensuring your servo operates efficiently without unnecessary weight dragging down performance.
- Single Arm Configuration — The single-arm layout provides a straightforward, tidy option for control linkages, reducing complexity in your servo setup whilst maintaining the precise mechanical advantage needed for responsive steering or throttle control.
- Striking Red Finish — The distinctive red colour makes this servo arm easy to identify in your RC setup and adds a touch of visual appeal to your build, whilst the robust finish is designed to resist wear and maintain its appearance through extensive use.
- Futaba Quality and Heritage — Backed by Futaba's reputation as the industry leader in RC servo technology since 1948, this component is engineered to the exacting standards that professional RC racers and hobbyists depend on for consistent performance.
- Precision Engineering — Every aspect of this servo arm is precision-crafted to ensure smooth operation and reliable connectivity with your servo horn, providing the mechanical accuracy essential for responsive control in RC cars, crawlers, and other applications.
Technical Performance
The Futaba Alloy Single Servo Arm 20mm represents the pinnacle of servo arm design, combining precision engineering with materials science to deliver a component that performs reliably in demanding RC applications. The 20mm aluminium construction offers an optimal balance between weight and strength—aluminium's natural properties mean the arm remains rigid under load whilst keeping overall vehicle weight to a minimum, which is crucial for maintaining responsive handling in RC cars UK and beyond. The single-arm configuration eliminates unnecessary material and complexity, resulting in a clean, efficient design that reduces servo load and improves linkage response times. Whether you're running a high-speed RC buggy, a technical RC crawler, or a competition-grade RC truck, this servo arm provides the mechanical platform for precise control inputs. The red anodised finish is not merely decorative; it provides corrosion resistance and durability against the elements, making this component suitable for both indoor and outdoor RC use. Futaba's engineering excellence ensures that this servo arm maintains dimensional accuracy and consistency across production runs, meaning you can rely on predictable, responsive control every time you drive. The 20mm length is specifically engineered for applications requiring shorter throw distances, which can improve servo response speed and reduce power draw—a particular advantage when running multiple servos from a single receiver or power system.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Futaba Alloy Single Servo Arm 20mm suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. This servo arm is recommended for hobbyists aged 14 and over and is straightforward to install on compatible Futaba servos. If you're new to RC and need to replace or customise your servo arm, this is an excellent choice that doesn't require specialist knowledge or tools.
- What vehicles can I use this servo arm on? — This 20mm servo arm is suitable for any RC application where you need a short servo arm reach, including RC cars, crawlers, buggies, and other radio control models. It's compatible with Futaba servos featuring standard horn connections, making it versatile across different vehicle types and brands.
- Why would I choose a 20mm servo arm over longer alternatives? — The 20mm length is perfect when you need a compact, tidy control linkage with less mechanical throw. This results in faster servo response, reduced power consumption, and cleaner installation in space-constrained servo bays—particularly valuable in competition-grade RC setups.
- Is the aluminium construction strong enough for demanding use? — Yes. Futaba's aluminium alloy is specifically selected for servo arms and is engineered to withstand the stresses of regular RC driving without flexing or breaking. The material offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for performance-focused RC builds.
- Will this servo arm fit my servo? — This Futaba servo arm is designed for Futaba servos with standard horn connections. Before purchasing, verify that your servo uses Futaba's standard spline pattern. If you're unsure, contact our expert team at RC Model Shop and we'll help you identify the correct part.
- Can I use this on RC crawlers? — Absolutely. RC crawlers often benefit from shorter servo arms because they allow more precise steering control and reduce the physical strain on servo linkages during technical terrain navigation, making this 20mm arm an excellent choice for crawler builds.
