Overview

The Futaba Plastic Servo Horn D (Small Disc - 4pcs) is an essential spare part and upgrade accessory for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand quality, reliability and value for money. Whether you're building a new RC model, maintaining an existing setup, or upgrading your servo linkage system, these genuine Futaba servo horns offer a straightforward, lightweight solution that works across a wide range of RC vehicles and applications. As an official Futaba product, these horns are recognised by serious RC hobbyists and professionals alike as a trusted component for everyday RC builds and maintenance.

These small disc-style servo horns are finished in durable black plastic and come as a set of four pieces, giving you multiple options for your RC car, truck, buggy or specialist model. The compact, low-profile design makes them ideal for applications where space is limited or where a neat, tidy linkage routing is essential. Whether you're an experienced RC competitor, a weekend basher, or discovering RC for the first time, understanding the importance of quality servo horns will help you get the best performance and reliability from your RC setup. The Futaba brand has been leading the way in radio control since 1962, so when you choose Futaba spares and accessories, you're investing in proven engineering and design excellence.

Servo horns are critical components in any RC model's control system, transferring the rotational motion from your servo motor into linear movement that controls steering, throttle, and other vital functions. Having a selection of spare horns on hand means you can quickly replace worn components, experiment with different linkage geometries, or build multiple models with compatible servo systems. The small disc profile of these Futaba horns makes them particularly versatile, fitting neatly into compact installations where larger horns would be impractical or aesthetically undesirable.

Key Features

  • Set of 4 Small Disc Servo Horns — You receive four individual horns in this pack, giving you multiple options for your RC projects and ensuring you have spares on hand for maintenance, replacement or experimental builds across different models.
  • Compact Low-Profile Design — The small disc form factor is specifically engineered for neat, low-profile linkage setups, making these horns perfect for RC models where space is at a premium and clean cable routing matters for both performance and aesthetics.
  • Durable Black Plastic Construction — Manufactured from quality plastic material and finished in black, these horns offer a lightweight yet robust solution that resists wear and maintains consistent performance over extended use and multiple RC seasons.
  • Genuine Futaba Quality — As an official Futaba accessory, these servo horns meet the exacting standards set by a manufacturer that has been leading radio control since 1962, ensuring compatibility with Futaba servos and proven reliability across countless RC installations worldwide.
  • Universal RC Application Compatibility — Whether you're building an RC car UK-based, a rock crawler, a buggy, a truck, or any other RC vehicle type, these servo horns work with most standard servo splines, making them a versatile addition to any RC enthusiast's spare parts collection.
  • Lightweight for Performance — The plastic construction keeps overall weight minimal, which is crucial in RC applications where unsprung weight and rotating mass affect handling, acceleration and overall vehicle dynamics, particularly important in competitive racing scenarios.

Technical Performance

The Futaba Plastic Servo Horn D (Small Disc - 4pcs) represents a fundamental but essential component in RC servo systems. These horns are engineered from durable plastic material with a black finish that resists fading and weathering through normal RC use. The small disc profile measures approximately to industry-standard dimensions, fitting comfortably with most servo splines whilst maintaining a compact footprint that doesn't intrude into tight spaces within RC chassis and bodywork. The design allows precise control linkage setup, critical for achieving consistent steering response, throttle control and other servo-driven functions. Unlike larger horn designs, the small disc format reduces the effective moment arm for certain applications, giving builders flexibility in tuning servo travel and control sensitivity. The plastic material, whilst lightweight for improved RC performance, maintains sufficient rigidity to handle the torque loads generated by quality servos without deflection or stripping under normal RC operating conditions. With a shipping weight of just 0.01kg, these horns add negligible mass to your RC setup, making them ideal for weight-conscious builders and competition-level RC applications where every gram matters. The pack of four provides redundancy for maintenance cycles and the flexibility to configure multiple vehicles or experiment with different linkage geometries within a single RC project.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these servo horns suitable for beginners building their first RC model? — Absolutely. These Futaba servo horns are an excellent choice for beginners because they're straightforward to install, universally compatible with most standard servos, and come from a manufacturer with over 60 years of radio control expertise. The small disc design is particularly forgiving for newcomers to RC, as it simplifies linkage routing and reduces the chance of interference with bodywork or chassis components. Whether you're building an RC car, truck, buggy or specialist model, understanding servo horn selection is a fundamental skill, and starting with genuine Futaba parts ensures you're learning with reliable, quality components.
  • What RC models are these servo horns compatible with? — These small disc horns work with virtually any RC vehicle that uses standard servo splines, including RC cars, RC trucks, RC buggies, RC rock crawlers, RC helicopters with swashplate controls, and many other RC hobby applications. The small disc profile makes them especially popular for applications requiring compact, low-profile linkage setups where space is limited.
  • Why would I need multiple servo horns in a single pack? — Having four horns in one pack is incredibly practical. You might use them for different linkage points on a single complex RC model, maintain spares for replacement when older horns wear out, configure multiple RC vehicles with the same servo type, or experiment with different linkage geometries to fine-tune your RC's handling and control response characteristics.
  • How do I know if these horns will fit my servo? — The small disc design with standard servo spline compatibility means these Futaba horns will fit the vast majority of RC servos on the market, particularly Futaba servos and servos from other premium manufacturers using industry-standard spline patterns. However, it's worth confirming your servo's spline pattern before ordering, as some specialist servo designs use proprietary mounting systems.
  • Are these horns available elsewhere in the UK? — Futaba products are distributed through authorised retailers across the UK and Ireland via J Perkins, the official UK and Ireland Futaba distributor established in 1975 and based in Kent. RC Model Shop as an authorised Futaba retailer ensures you're receiving genuine products with full manufacturer support and warranty assurance.
  • What's the difference between small disc servo horns and other horn types? — Servo horns come in many profiles including large discs, cross-shaped designs, arms of various lengths, and specialty shapes for particular applications. The small disc profile of the Futaba D horn is specifically engineered for compact installations where you need a lightweight, low-profile solution without the extended reach of larger horns. This makes them ideal for tight engine bays, complex linkage systems, or any RC application where aesthetics and space efficiency matter.
