This is the battery for the serious RC hobbyist in the UK who refuses to sacrifice performance for convenience—a battery that understands competitive RC culture and professional-grade expectations.
The inclusion of a factory-fitted XT90 connector immediately signals this pack's suitability for high-load setups and demanding electrical systems. This low-resistance connection minimises voltage sag and power loss during peak discharge moments, ensuring your RC vehicle maintains peak performance even under maximum throttle conditions. If you're shopping for an RC battery UK and need something that delivers real performance credentials, this is exactly what serious RC enthusiasts are looking for.
Key Features
- 6S LiPo Configuration (22.2V nominal) — The six-cell arrangement provides the optimal voltage for high-performance brushless RC applications, delivering 22.2 volts of nominal power that translates to genuine speed and acceleration. This voltage level is the industry standard for mid-to-high-performance RC cars and is widely supported across modern brushless ESCs and motor combinations.
- 5500mAh High-Capacity Design — This substantial capacity ensures extended runtime during your RC sessions, meaning more time enjoying your hobby and less time waiting for recharge cycles. The 5500mAh rating represents a careful compromise between runtime and overall pack weight, preventing your RC vehicle from becoming too heavy whilst guaranteeing meaningful flight or run duration.
- 80C Continuous Discharge Rating — The 80C discharge rating indicates this battery can safely deliver extremely high current levels without overheating or performance degradation. This specification is critical for high-performance RC applications where sustained high-current draws are normal—think competitive racing, aggressive bashing, or demanding aerial manoeuvres. The 80C rating ensures voltage stability even during maximum acceleration or throttle bursts.
- XT90 Low-Resistance Connector — Factory-fitted with the premium XT90 connector system, this pack minimises connection resistance and power loss during operation. The XT90 is the connector of choice for high-performance RC applications where every millivolt matters, providing a secure, reliable interface that professional RC enthusiasts trust implicitly. The low-resistance design ensures your RC vehicle receives every amp of power your battery can deliver.
- Compact Performance Footprint — Measuring 158 × 44 × 59mm and weighing 876 grams, this pack is engineered for performance-focused builds where space and weight distribution are critical considerations. The compact dimensions allow installation in a wide range of RC chassis whilst the balanced weight keeps your vehicle responsive and agile during operation.
- Soft Case Protection — The pack arrives in a protective soft case, safeguarding the battery cells during transport, storage, and handling. Proper case protection extends battery lifespan and ensures you're always starting your RC sessions with a pack in peak condition.
- Professional-Grade LiPo Chemistry — Constructed using proven lithium polymer cell technology, this battery delivers the energy density, discharge capability, and reliability expected by serious RC competitors and demanding hobbyists. LiPo chemistry remains the gold standard for high-performance RC applications because of its superior power-to-weight ratio and consistent voltage curve throughout discharge cycles.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 6S battery represents a masterclass in high-performance battery engineering for serious RC applications. The 80C continuous discharge rating is the standout specification here—this means the pack can safely and continuously deliver 440 amps of current (5500mAh × 80C ÷ 1000 = 440A) without thermal stress or voltage collapse. For context, this capability makes the pack suitable for the most demanding brushless RC setups, including high-KV motors drawing maximum current during acceleration and competitive racing scenarios. The 22.2V nominal voltage (with a peak charge voltage of 25.2V across six cells at 4.2V per cell) positions this battery perfectly within the sweet spot for modern brushless ESCs and motor combinations, ensuring compatibility with the latest UK RC racing equipment and high-performance platforms. The consistent voltage delivery throughout the discharge cycle—a hallmark of quality LiPo construction—means your RC vehicle maintains peak performance from the first second of operation through to the final moments before battery cutoff, rather than experiencing the gradual performance fade associated with lower-quality batteries. The 876-gram weight reflects genuine high-capacity cells rather than inflated specifications; Radient's reputation in the RC community is built on honest specifications and reliable performance. The compact 158 × 44 × 59mm footprint enables installation in modern RC chassis designs whilst maintaining proper weight distribution. The XT90 connector system completes the performance picture—professional-grade RC competitors standardised on XT90 specifically because the connector system's low-resistance design preserves every watt-hour of energy in the battery for actual RC vehicle propulsion rather than losing it to connector resistance. This is a battery engineered by people who understand high-performance RC and built to meet the exacting standards of competitive RC enthusiasts.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC applications is the Radient 6S 5500mAh 80C battery suitable for? — This 6-cell LiPo pack is engineered for any high-performance RC application requiring 22.2V power delivery. Common uses include brushless RC cars (both competitive racing and casual bashing), high-performance RC quadcopters and multirotor drones, RC aeroplanes, RC helicopters, and any specialised RC platform where the operator has specified 6S LiPo battery compatibility. The 80C discharge rating and 5500mAh capacity make it equally suitable for casual recreational flying or bashing sessions and serious competitive RC racing where consistent power delivery and reliability are non-negotiable.
- Is this battery suitable for beginners? — Whilst the Radient pack offers excellent specifications, prospective purchasers should be aware that proper LiPo battery handling requires knowledge of safe charging procedures, appropriate storage practices, and awareness of LiPo-specific safety considerations. Beginners are advised to thoroughly research LiPo safety before purchasing, or to consult experienced RC hobbyists. That said, once you've educated yourself on LiPo fundamentals, this is a genuinely reliable pack. The Radient brand carries solid reputation credentials in the RC community, and the specifications are honest and well-suited to a wide range of applications.
- What charger do I need for the Radient 6S LiPo battery? — You'll require a LiPo-compatible battery charger capable of handling 6S packs (capable of delivering up to 25.2 volts during charge). Many modern RC battery chargers support 6S charging. The charger should feature a balanced charging function to ensure each individual cell charges evenly, maintaining battery health and longevity. RC Model Shop can advise on appropriate charger selection based on your specific requirements.
- How long will this battery last per charge? — Runtime depends entirely on your specific RC application and how aggressively you operate your equipment. A high-performance RC car with a powerful brushless motor will deplete the 5500mAh pack more quickly than a lower-power application, possibly within 10-15 minutes of aggressive racing. Casual flying of an RC drone might stretch to 20-30 minutes depending on flying style. The capacity is substantial enough for meaningful sessions across different RC disciplines.
- What is the peak voltage of this 6S pack? — A fully charged 6S LiPo pack reaches 25.2 volts (4.2 volts × 6 cells). The nominal voltage of 22.2 volts (3.7V × 6 cells) represents the approximate average voltage during discharge. Quality chargers and battery management systems monitor individual cell voltages to prevent overcharging and maintain battery health.
- What does the 80C discharge rating actually mean? — The 80C rating indicates the maximum continuous current the battery can safely deliver without damage. Calculated by multiplying the capacity (5500mAh = 5.5Ah) by the rating (80C), this pack can continuously discharge up to 440 amps. This specification ensures the battery performs reliably even in applications demanding sustained high current, such as competitive RC racing or aggressive sport flying.
- Are there any storage requirements for LiPo batteries? — LiPo packs should ideally be stored at approximately 50% state of charge in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Never store fully charged or fully depleted. Many RC enthusiasts use dedicated LiPo storage boxes or metal ammunition cans to contain potential issues should a cell fail. Proper storage extends battery lifespan and maintains safety. Never leave LiPo batteries unattended while charging.
