This capacity strikes an excellent balance between runtime and portability for RC enthusiasts who want to carry multiple batteries to their local club or racing venue.
- 7.4V Output — The nominal voltage of 7.4V (measured at two cells in series) is compatible with countless ready-to-run RC cars UK, buggies, crawlers, and small drones that specify 2S LiPo battery requirements. This voltage level provides the power envelope needed for electric RC vehicles whilst remaining safe and reliable for models designed for this specification.
- 30C Discharge Rating — The continuous 30C discharge rate means this battery can safely deliver 54 amps of current (30 multiplied by the 1.8Ah capacity), making it suitable for electric RC cars with brushless motors, ESCs rated for 30C or higher, and models that demand responsive power delivery without voltage sag or performance loss. This high discharge capability ensures your RC vehicle maintains consistent speed and acceleration throughout the battery's runtime.
- XT60 Connector — The XT60 plug is a gold-plated, secure connector standard found on most modern RC chargers, ESCs, and battery packs. This connector type minimises resistance losses, resists accidental disconnection, and provides a reliable interface that has become the industry benchmark for RC power systems in the UK and worldwide.
- Compact Dimensions — Measuring only 108mm long by 35mm wide by 12mm tall, this battery fits into tight spaces where larger packs simply won't fit. The slim profile is ideal for low-profile chassis designs, compact RC crawlers, and any model where packaging efficiency is critical to performance and handling.
- Lightweight Construction — At just 99 grams, this battery pack is exceptionally light, helping to minimise unsprung weight on your RC vehicle and improving acceleration, braking, and cornering performance. Lower total vehicle weight also means longer runtime from the same capacity, as the motor doesn't have to work as hard to move the mass.
- Soft Case Protection — The battery comes housed in a protective soft case that guards against physical damage, reduces the risk of short circuits, and allows safe storage alongside other RC equipment. The case also helps dissipate heat generated during charging and discharge cycles, extending battery lifespan.
- Age Recommendation 14+ — This product is recommended for users aged 14 and above, reflecting the need for responsible handling of lithium polymer batteries. Users should understand proper charging procedures, storage requirements, and safety protocols for LiPo packs to ensure safe and enjoyable use.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 2S 1800mAh 7.4V 30C battery delivers impressive technical performance within its design parameters. The 30C discharge rating provides a maximum burst current capability of up to 54 amps, making this battery suitable for electric RC cars with brushless motor setups rated for 2S LiPo systems. The engineering and construction focus on reliability ensures consistent voltage delivery throughout the discharge cycle, minimising voltage sag that would otherwise rob your RC model of performance. The lithium polymer cell chemistry utilised in this pack provides superior energy density compared to traditional nickel-metal hydride batteries, meaning the Radient battery delivers more usable power in a lighter, more compact form. For RC car UK users operating brushless electric setups, this battery eliminates the need for the multiple NiMH cells that would otherwise be required, significantly reducing overall vehicle weight whilst simultaneously improving acceleration and runtime. The XT60 connector incorporates gold plating to minimise electrical resistance and voltage drop, ensuring that the maximum available power reaches your ESC and motor without losses. The soft case housing provides thermal management during discharge and offers protection during storage and transport, helping to maintain battery health and longevity. Users should note that LiPo batteries require a dedicated LiPo-compatible charger; standard NiMH chargers cannot be used with this battery and may cause damage or safety hazards. Proper storage in a cool, dry environment at storage voltage (around 3.7V per cell for long-term storage) will maximise the lifespan of this battery pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC vehicles are compatible with the Radient 2S 1800mAh 7.4V LiPo battery? — This battery is compatible with any radio-controlled vehicle, drone, or model that specifies 2S LiPo battery compatibility and uses an XT60 connector. Common applications include small electric RC cars, compact RC buggies, lightweight RC crawlers, small quadcopter drones, and specialty RC models. Always verify that your vehicle's ESC and motor are rated for 2S LiPo power (7.4V nominal) before using this battery, as some older or budget models may still use NiMH batteries or different voltage specifications.
- Is this battery suitable for beginners to RC hobbies? — Yes, the Radient 2S 1800mAh 7.4V 30C LiPo is well-suited for beginners who have a compatible RC vehicle. The 1800mAh capacity provides adequate runtime for learning and recreational use, whilst the 30C discharge rating ensures responsive performance. However, beginners must understand that LiPo batteries require a dedicated LiPo-compatible charger and proper storage procedures. Never use a standard NiMH charger with this battery. We recommend reading the battery care guide and consulting with our expert team at RC Model Shop if you have any questions about safe handling and charging of lithium polymer batteries.
- What charger do I need for the Radient 2S 1800mAh battery? — You must use a LiPo-compatible charger that supports 2S lithium polymer batteries with XT60 connectors. Many modern RC chargers sold in the UK offer LiPo charging modes and can automatically detect 2S packs. Our team at RC Model Shop can recommend suitable chargers that will safely charge this battery pack. Never attempt to use standard NiMH or lead-acid chargers, as these will not provide the proper charging profile for lithium polymer chemistry and may result in damage or safety hazards.
- How long will this battery last during use? — The runtime depends on your specific RC vehicle's motor, ESC settings, and driving style. As a general guide, the 1800mAh capacity provides approximately 15-30 minutes of continuous runtime on most small to medium electric RC cars, though heavier vehicles or those with higher-power motors may see shorter runtimes. We recommend purchasing multiple batteries so you can swap packs and keep using your RC vehicle whilst charging the depleted pack.
- How do I store the Radient LiPo battery safely? — Store the battery in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources. For long-term storage beyond one week, discharge the battery to storage voltage (approximately 3.7V per cell, or 7.4V total for a 2S pack) using a compatible charger's storage mode, or manually discharge to this level. Store in a fireproof container or LiPo storage bag if possible. Never store a fully charged LiPo battery for extended periods, as this reduces cell lifespan. Always inspect the battery before charging for any signs of damage, puffing, or corrosion.
- What is the difference between 30C and higher discharge ratings? — The 30C rating indicates the maximum continuous current this battery can safely deliver, calculated as 30 times the capacity (30 × 1.8Ah = 54A maximum). Higher discharge ratings like 45C or 60C would allow even greater current draw, beneficial for high-performance RC vehicles with more powerful motors. However, the Radient 30C rating is perfectly adequate for most recreational and competitive RC cars in the UK. Choose the discharge rating based on your motor and ESC specifications; overpowering is unnecessary and adds cost and weight.
