Overview
The Radient LiPo 4S 1600mAh 14.8V 50C Deans (HCT) battery is a compact and reliable power solution for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand performance without bulk. Whether you're running a brushless RC car, electric RC truck, or any 4S-compatible RC model, this battery delivers the perfect balance between capacity and discharge capability in a tidy footprint that fits easily into tight battery bays. With its 50C discharge rating, this LiPo pack provides excellent power delivery for demanding applications, making it an ideal choice for RC basher pilots, hobbyists, and those seeking a quality replacement battery for their existing RC setup.
This 4-cell LiPo battery is purpose-built for RC models that accept a 4S (14.8V) configuration with Deans-style connectors. The soft case construction protects the cells during transport and storage, while the compact dimensions of just 90 x 43 x 22mm ensure compatibility with most RC car battery bays without requiring modifications. Whether you're upgrading an older RC model or adding a spare battery to your collection, the Radient 1600mAh pack offers excellent value and proven reliability that RC enthusiasts across the UK trust.
As an increasingly popular choice among UK RC hobbyists, Radient batteries are known for consistent performance and quality construction. This particular model strikes an excellent balance for pilots who want real power without the weight penalty of larger capacity packs, making it perfect for smaller-scale brushless RC cars and trucks that prioritise agility and responsiveness over extended runtime.
Key Features
- 4S LiPo Chemistry — The four-cell configuration delivers 14.8V nominal voltage, which is the industry standard for a huge range of RC models and provides excellent compatibility across brushless ESCs and RC vehicles throughout the UK RC market.
- 1600mAh Capacity — This mid-range capacity offers practical runtime for most RC applications whilst keeping overall battery weight low, allowing your RC model to maintain excellent acceleration and handling characteristics.
- 50C Discharge Rating — The 50C rating means the battery can safely deliver up to 80 amps of continuous current (1600mAh × 50C = 80A), providing ample power for brushless motors and high-performance RC setups without stress or voltage sag.
- Deans (HCT) Connector — The widely-used Deans connector type ensures compatibility with most modern RC cars, RC trucks, and brushless ESCs available in the UK, though you may need an adapter if your model uses a different connector standard.
- Compact Dimensions — At just 90 x 43 x 22mm, this battery is significantly smaller and lighter than larger capacity alternatives, making it ideal for RC models with restrictive battery bays where space is at a premium.
- Soft Case Protection — The protective soft case safeguards the LiPo cells from physical damage during transport, storage, and between races, extending the lifespan of your investment and preventing accidental short circuits.
- Age Recommendation 14+ — This battery is designed for responsible operators aged 14 and above, in line with safety guidelines for handling LiPo batteries which require proper charging equipment and care procedures.
- Shadow Stock Status — Available for usually next-day UK shipping, meaning you won't have to wait long to get this essential power upgrade into your RC car or truck.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 4S 1600mAh 14.8V 50C battery represents solid engineering that meets the demands of modern RC cars and trucks. With a nominal voltage of 14.8V across four cells, this pack delivers the stable voltage curve that brushless ESCs expect, ensuring smooth throttle response and consistent power delivery throughout the discharge cycle. The 50C discharge capability translates to impressive power output — up to 80 amps continuous — making this battery suitable for moderate to high-performance brushless setups without experiencing the voltage sag that diminishes throttle response and top speed. The 1600mAh capacity is perfectly pitched for RC models where weight matters; it provides enough runtime for enjoyable bashing sessions or competitive runs without the weight penalty of larger 2200mAh or 3000mAh packs. The compact 90 x 43 x 22mm dimensions and relatively light weight (0.19kg shipping weight) mean this battery will fit into nearly all modern RC car battery compartments, from low-profile sedan platforms to standard touring car frames. The Deans connector has long been the industry standard for mid-range RC vehicles, ensuring your new battery will work seamlessly with your existing ESC and charging infrastructure. The soft case construction protects the individual cells from physical damage, reducing the risk of punctures or short circuits that can render a LiPo pack unusable. For RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliability without unnecessary bulk, this Radient pack offers engineering excellence at a competitive price point.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient 4S 1600mAh 50C battery suitable for beginners in the UK RC hobby? — Yes, this battery is an excellent choice for newcomers to the RC hobby. The 1600mAh capacity provides safe, manageable power levels without the complexity of larger multi-battery setups, and the 50C rating is more than adequate for recreational bashing. However, beginners should ensure they have a proper LiPo charger and understand basic LiPo safety procedures before use, as all lithium batteries require responsible handling.
- What RC models are compatible with the Radient 4S 1600mAh battery? — This battery is compatible with any RC car, truck, buggy or crawler that accepts a 4S (14.8V) LiPo battery with a Deans-style connector. You should verify that your model's battery bay can accommodate the 90 x 43 x 22mm dimensions before purchasing. Common compatible vehicles include brushless RC touring cars, off-road buggies, short-course trucks, and scale crawler platforms.
- Can I use this battery with my existing RC car that currently has a different connector type? — If your RC model has a different connector (such as XT60, Traxxas, or others), you will need to purchase an appropriate adapter to connect the Deans connector to your model's receptacle. Many UK RC retailers stock these adapters, or you can solder a new connector to your RC model's ESC if you have soldering experience.
- How long will the Radient 1600mAh battery last per charge? — Runtime depends on your specific RC model, motor type, driving style, and terrain. Generally, expect between 15-30 minutes of typical use in a moderate-performance RC car or truck. High-speed running or heavy load applications will reduce runtime, whilst gentle cruising will extend it.
- What charger do I need for this 4S LiPo battery? — You'll need a LiPo-compatible charger that supports 4-cell packs. The battery includes balance connectors for safe charging with a balance-aware charger, which monitors each cell during the charge cycle. Most modern RC chargers sold in the UK support 4S LiPo batteries with balance leads.
- Is the 50C discharge rating important, and what does it mean for my RC model? — The 50C rating indicates how much current the battery can safely deliver. For your 1600mAh battery, 50C means up to 80 amps continuous output. For most recreational and competitive RC setups, this provides ample power and headroom, ensuring your motor receives consistent voltage and your ESC doesn't throttle back due to voltage sag.
- Can I use this battery in multiple RC models? — Yes, if your RC models all use 4S LiPo with Deans connectors (or you have adapters), you can rotate this battery between them. Many UK RC pilots own multiple vehicles and rotate batteries to maximise run time at the track.
- How should I store this LiPo battery between uses? — Store the Radient battery in its protective soft case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ideally, store LiPo batteries at around 3.85V per cell (approximately 50% charge state) if you won't be using them for extended periods. Never store a fully charged or fully discharged LiPo battery for long periods.
